I would kill for a proper third Burton Batman film
if you like listening to audiobooks, search for "What If Tim Burton Directed Batman Forever?" by Channel Awesome, though it is more like mix of Burton and Nolan.
Tim Burton could still do a third Batman movie he would just have to make it animated.
Read Batman '89
Well at least we got a comic book based on his ideas and written by Sam Hamm.
Omg agreed
The sequence of the Batmobile going through the forest will forever be perfect.
valdie91285 2:54-3:10 👍🏻
Watched it again last night and that sequence totally holds up. Magical.
One of the best scenes ever ,since I first saw it in 89 it burned in my mind forever
If you’d like to know the title of that piece, it is “Descent into Mystery “. It’s been my favorite since 1989.
I also like the music when he blows up the factory it’s very similar to the forest drive
Danny Elfman's Batman theme has always been the definitive Batman theme in my mind.
Probably sum up the modern Batman universe in post Adam West Batman series.
Couldn't agree more!
Totally agree!
FlyingShazbot same
As much as John Williams contributed the definitive theme for Superman, Elfmam achieved the same perfection for the Batman. Absolutely.
Did anyone else tear up watching this? So powerful. Horror, mystery, adventure, noir - Elfman really knocked this out of the park! This music IS my childhood.
Agreed 100%❤😊
2:47 My favorite musical sequence and part of the 1989 film: the ride to the Batcave. Descent to Mystery. "Where are we going?" she asks and Batman just ignores her. The music and the voices of the chorus highlight the tension.
Beautiful. What is the choir chanting? Actual words, or just "oohs" and "aahs"?
It is so atmospheric.
guaranteed thrill!
The song capturea batman perfectly..
I crying manly tears now...
You know a theme is badass when people start cheering after they hear one note
Best Batman Composer ever! :)
Damien Davies you can say that again
Damien Davies i'm agree with you :)
Shirley Walker stuff on the Animated series is so dope as well lol
I was there on this very night. You could feel the electricity in the audience - EPIC!
SB0780 you are so lucky! It seems like it was a magic night :')
Makes me want to watch the original Batman again. The Prince song for the movie is pretty badass too
I freaking LOVE the Prince songs in that movie!!
Had Elfman lived anytime before the 1900's, and had he been the author of these musical pieces ONLY, he would've been considered as one of the great classical composers..
Clsssic music period is around 1700 to 1800 tho
@@dustinchen If we're going technical, you are correct, although it actually goes right to the 1820's; that is, if we're talking about the Period considered classic. I said "had he LIVED before the 1900's" (not like, say, being born in 1889 or something). My comment I think is pretty much understandable and definitely not meant to be technical, however. I think he would’ve been deemed one of the great classical composers, even if he happened to “surpass” the precise 1820’s mark biographically.
Yes
I think Elfman WILL be remembered as one of the greatest composers of this era.
The first two Batman will all ways be the best, the music, the darkness and Micheal Keaton!!
I wish Tim Burton made the third movie in a Halloween period with the Scarecrow, it would correspond so much to his fantastic and magical delirium and my god the theme of this villain by Danny Elfman, it would have been monstrously epic...
I saw Batman 1989 twice on opening weekend (Fri and Sun nights). Magical... When people first saw the Batmobile they started cheering. The Descent Into Mystery sequence (Batmobile going through the forest) is still amazing.
What a fantastic tribute to the great Danny Elfman!
Batman returns is the soundtrack i prefer the most from Danny Elfman.
Eh. Too somber. The 89 soundtrack is triumphant and full of energy
Agreed
@@daustin8888 it was supposed to be somber. Fits the movies tone
I think that Batman Returns Is much better than Batman because First of all the suit was PERFECT, same the soundtrack (was darker) and finally the villains were sooo particularly bad (but the Joker was also perfect in the First movie)
especially the music for Catwoman.so sad, depressing, oh dear words cant even explain how prefect the music and the scene 😨😧
Adzetto Ciccone from the time when the movies and the soundtrack works together to make a very descriptive material! I don't know if i am the only who thinks that this Batman movies are the best! For me, Batman and Batman returns, the Burton movies. Amazing soundtrack, amazing performances (Keaton, Nicholson, DeVitto, Basinger, Pfeiffer, Gough, Hingle, man! Look at that names! And of course, a wonderful and amazing gothic world there.
💯💯💯
the first movie's score is iconic, the second's is genuinely really beautiful
This music gives me chills every time :)
They should just use Danny Elfman’s theme in every future Batman film now. It IS Batman’s theme
I know its like not using the Bond theme in a James Bond movie.
I agree. For too long have they forgotten about the original Batman; Michael Keaton's Batman. The original theme has always been my personal favorite.
@@latter-daysaintbatman2679 15:19 me too
The definitive Batman theme and scores - its just perfect. 100000000000000000000000000000 infinite out of 10.
Hearing these old pieces from live orchestras brings a bit of a tear to my eye as along time fan of these movies
I’ll just say it, Danny is my favorite composer of all time. He surpasses John Williams in the sense that his music struck a chord with me when I found heard it. This theme gives me chills every time I hear it. Thank you Mr Elfman and thank you Tim Burton, for your wonderful visions.
2:47 Danny Elfman's Finest and Tim Burton's vision for the Dark Knight brought to life....phenomenal!!! Many thanks for sharing this exquisite work.
i love the 90's a lot especially batman! glad i was born in that year
the first half contains the amazing intro and the adventurous action pieces, the first quarter of the second half contains the sad eerie Tim Burton gothic vibe with the violins, the harp, the cellos giving you darker twisted edges with the angelic vocals of the chorus and the last bit of the second half transitions back to the more adventurous vibe with the music reaching it's end as the last shot shows Batman on top of a building looking at his single in the night sky after defeating the Joker
What a privilege that must be to conduct these wonderful themes and anthems. I'm in tears.
8:08 the shot of the batwing flying in Gotham always gives me chills.
I just overdosed on all this epicness.
The Batmobile piece always gives me the chills.
2:47 - That's the stuff. ^_^
♠ TOTALLY. Pure epicness
i jizzed my pants
Great memories for me when i was a child and saw this movie for the first time, it was just AMAZING!! Priceless
I have good memories of this song, when I was a 🧒🏻.
Best music for a Batman movie,no other composer can surpass the great Danny Elfman! 👏🏻
I know times are different but I'm starting to love this rendition of "Descent into Mystery" much more.
omg gives you shivers one of the best soundtracks going
Disliking this is like disliking a waterfall or an icicle. It's a thing of beauty for your ears.
In lockdown and loving it.
Jr seems free to me
I was instantly taken back to being 7 years old and seeing this in the theater back in 1989...
Right in the god damn feels
My favorite is Descent into Mystery from 1989 when Batman rides with Vicki Vale to the Batcave
That's some sick artwork
vars28 is an emo work (Tim Burton), and some of them are inadequate todo show there....
The scene and melody at 3:23 gives me the craziest goosbumps and nostalgia
I really wish I could have been there to celebrate this glorious score. When do they even have events like this??
The scene with "Descent into mystery" has to be one of the most electric marriages of music and cinematography ever.
8:06 - 8:09 when the batwing flying into gotham always gives me chills.
The best bat plane and batmobile design 👌
I Can't Tell You how Much I Love Batman..
Its something you have to Feel for yourself.
Deeply..
My Favorite Super Hero of All Times..
Saw this live in LA and it was just incredible.
7:48 - 8:37 SO MUCH EPICNESS!
Chills.
+KJ McNeill Right? Thanks for watching! The Alice In Wonderland Theme gave me insane chills also, if you saw that one. I was just so thrilled to be able to go and see this.
Mad chills!
BRAVOOOOOOO A STANDING OVATION FROM ME
Him and Hans Zimmer just incredible.
*James Newton Howard
Une des plus belles B.O de ces 30 dernières années signée Danny Elfman et qui donne une autre dimension au chef-d'œuvre de Tim
Burton... Bravo Maëstro !
Mr Burton please returns !
AMAZING! great selection from Burton's films. Thanks for sharing!
13:22 The Penguin is really the bad guy, everyone knows that, but.... every time I hear the somber theme, you can't help but having both your heart shattered and a little bit of sympathy for him.....
That's the genius of it. Agreed!
Thank you for this upload!
While Elfman isn't my favorite Batman composer, but imagining myself there listening to this orchestra and then the "Descent to Mystery" scene actually is shown as they plan... just imagining brought tears to my eyes!!!!
I saw this in LA and it was just as you said, I was almost crying. It sounded much better than on here too.
So, who is your favorite?
@@thenoirknight5729 Hans Zimmer and Tom Holkenborg.
12:25 after this I think I got over fear for this scene, because as a kid I could not sleep that because of that scene
The final battle in Batman (1989) with this music will be great.
Both of his batman soundtracks were absolutely incredible.
The REAL Batman Theme.
Absolutely beautiful. Thank you for sharing
Big time chills
this is EPIC 😲😍
Oh. My. God.
I just got chills watching this love it
Security would have had to come get me, man cos I woulda lost my mind if I were there! Bravo 👏👏👏👌
fantastic video .Thanks for sharing
+Miaminight Thanks for watching! I was just so thrilled to be able to go and see this.
Thanks man, for share with us this magnificent performance! Thanks a lot, you really give to me some wonderful memories, when the soundtrack, the acting, the direction, the composser and everything work together to make this epic movies! Better for me than the superhero movies from today. Thanks a lot!
I love the strings jumping up for a brief moment during the Walrz to the Death.
this made my day great video.
I would have LOVED to see this in person
Batman Returns is a musical. They just forgot to put in any singing dialogue.
I’m a heavy metal dude, but I think Danny elfman is the most talented musician there ever was.
Yes he is
Him and robert smith
The music from 7:10 to 7:53 is what I associate with The Joker! For me, THAT is The Joker Theme, it really sums up the character of The Joker perfectly as The Psychotic Killer! (Particularly at 7:37) The Waltz is good too but that more highlights The Quirky Clown Side to him. :)
This is what I listen to when I don't wanna hear radio music. Energizing music. It can have Ups, downs, and be motivational. Music on a another level. In this case, I like the Danny Elfman version best.
Great driving music, for sure.
I saw the CSO do this at Ravinia a few summers ago, it was amazing
truly amazing.
Holy Wow! Those are the original Storyboards from Tim Burton 🎨🖌️
No superhero movie can beat the 89 Batman film, no Marvel film no other Batman film nothing!
The Avengers score sounds like a belch compared to Danny Elfman's gothic opus.
This film is just on a whole other level
Spider-Man 2, Superman (Christopher Reeves), Avengers Infinity war/Endgame, Incredibles, X Men 2, probably missing a few
@@jackbruno953 Everything MCU has produced is ok at best
I love the jokers theme very loud and fun but with a bit of a sinister edge to it also.
That was beautiful 😭😭😭😭
Those horns at 4:56-5:00 were always my favorite part of Waltz To The Death, but they sound even better in this performance.
Danny Elfman is bringing this music back for Justice League. Thank you GOD!
Jack S are you serious?
Nope
Jack S it doesn't suit batfleck or the out of whack characters and theme.
@@dman3438 Watch him do it and Batman will be revived...
@@Metalpazallteway What? The movie came out a year ago. Elfman's score was not good. He's lost it over time.
epicness
Mi infancia resumida en este tema
The Definitive Batman Soundtrack
Very well executed!
Wish I was there!!! T_T
1992 eu estava, com 9 anos
Beautiful music! So tragic and moving. The Penguin is indeed a victim.
Best villain for the best movie! A wonderful dark mirror of Bruce himself. Bruce became who he is because of what happened to his parents, oswald is the way he is because of what his parents did to him! ALSO, I like to think that happy couple the cobblepots pass in the park is the Wayne’s. They also have a baby carriage with them!
@@JohnDoe-hk5ec you know I never thought about that you could be right a path of different roads one loved and one hated
Killing children is.......not innocent (in there sleep !!!!)
What I love about the trio of villains in Batman Returns is how they all mirror Batman in some way. Oswald is a dark corruption of Bruce Wayne and his lineage, Catwoman is a dark corruption of the Batman persona and identity, and Max Shreck is a dark corruption of the public image of Bruce Wayne
2:47 the goosebumps are real
I know the theme is fantastic but the whole score is incredible. I'm trying to think of scores that are as good at this for not only the music being great but matching the film. Star Wars and Superman come to mind.
The Last of the Mohicans (1992). That movie and Batman 1989 would have both been deserving winners of the Oscar for Best Original Score, and yet were not even nominated.
Como me encanta esta melodia carajo
He’s coming back in The Flash 🔥 ⚡️
12:03 that Selina music part gives me goosebumps.
Siouxsie and the banshees song is perfect too for Batman Returns
¿Dónde está aquí la reacción "me encanta"?
Cool profile pic
lovely video :)
Best soundtracks Batman
1 Danny elfman
2 Michael Giachinno
3 Hanz zimmer
looking forward to london.
WOW. AMAZING
The conductor of the Orchestra is The Great STEVE BARTEK ??? great collaborator and conductor of almost all the films of Danny Elfman, he is the guital leader in their band Oingo bongo!
The conductor for these performances was John Mauceri with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra (a hand-picked ensemble, selected by Mauceri, from Hollywood's best studio musicians).
@@gardenmartha thank you!!!!
The only Batman theme that was done perfectly
This is the only orchetstra i get chills from
Burton's Penguin is the most tragic of all tragic villains.
