Great video!! i have a random question ,
I thought that the engine had to be running and trans in park at the end to check final level along with appropriate trans oil temperature

@@markb6s4 The physical change out is not difficult.... my question is do you fill the new filter with fuel, do you have to have computer software to run a priming function or can you just turn the ignition on and off about 10 times to prime it? I know air to the high pressure side is a no no.

    • @markb6s4

Thanks for the video @mark_b6s4. For anyone else doing this job, figured I'd post the following from the service manual as a heads-up (I hope it helps):
    - Add ATF using ATF Filler Tool - V.A.G 1924- until ATF drips from the check hole.
    - Move the selector lever into “P”.
    - Start the engine, wait 20 seconds and then turn it off.
    - Add ATF using ATF Filler Tool - V.A.G 1924- until ATF drips from the check hole.
    - Start the engine.
    - Continue to add ATF using the ATF filler tool - V.A.G 1924- until ATF starts to come out again from the check hole.
    - Tighten the old ATF inspection plug.
    - With engine idling depress the brake pedal and shift the selector lever through all the selector lever positions leaving the selector lever at least 10 seconds in each position.
    - Move the selector lever into “N”.
    - Increase the RPM to 2000 and hold it there for at least 60 seconds.
    - Move the selector lever into “P”.
    - Check ATF Level, and fill

thanks for the video! I had myQ7 serviced withnew trans fluid, gasket, etc, from a shop...but problem is after they did it the transmission now has a delayed shift when I come to a stop. I took it back to them and they say the fluid level is fine but I never had this issue before. Seems like the level is low or something, it shouldn't take 5 seconds for it to shift into the 1st gear when I come to ta stop.. What do you think?

    • @markb6s4
      @markb6s4  2 года назад

It can be a few things. They may not of topped it off correctly. They may have accidentally hit up against the tranny when it was open which may cause a solenoid to delay shifting gears. It can be a few things. As always if they did do some sort of damage they will most likely not admit it. Sadly it's kind a hard to trust mech. If they did the job correctly. There are some honest mechanics out there but itll take time and money to find one
