  • If you own an electronic die cutting machine, chances are you've had to reapply adhesive to your mat. Here is a method using undiluted Aleene's Tack it Over and Over that involves practically no cleanup and dries much faster than the typical method of diluting it with water. If it's too sticky afterwards for your liking, check out this video for how to reduce the adhesive strength: • Fix a "Too Sticky" Cut...

I have used the expensive spray for years and always had trouble with the tackiness being either not enough or too much. This is so much easier and less expensive! Thank you so much for this wonderful video and the great tip!!

Thank you so much, Sheila! I just made another one just in case it comes out too sticky afterwards: ruclips.net/video/anoUwS0OJwg/видео.html

Did you clean the mat before you started resticking it?

Just curious. What do you use to cover the mat when it's not in use? I was given a Zing but the mat it came with are no longer tacky and there are no cover sheets so I'm not sure how it was received when brand new. Is wax paper safe to use? Thanks in advance.

I generally don't cover mine at all, but wax or freezer paper sound reasonable. The mats do some with a sheet of coated paper of some kind covering the adhesive, which also prevents them from sticking to the packaging.
If your mat isn't tacky, try cleaning it first as that often revives the adhesive and you also don't want to re-stick a dirty mat.

I use wax paper. I cover mine so that air dust does not get on them when not in use.

Can this be used for circuit mats?

      Yes it can

Most definitely! I would mask the edges of your Cricut mats before applying the Tack It Over and Over.

You're welcome! I was a little dubious when I first heard it, but it works well and I like it much better than the diluting method.
