Sadly today LITMW entered at number 46. Very disappointing with all the great reviews and promotion. Existing fans will have bought it I one format or more. New and younger fans are not being brought on board. They need to address this or sadly these releases will run out of steam. It deserved better than 46.
@@beatleytonesbeatleschannel I'm not sure how they weight sales for box sets, super deluxe is the value of 4 standard copies, so should have more weight. Mind Games didn't do as well as hoped. I worry that the Commercial arm of the record company will look at future releases and hold back on what they release. I am sure they make a profit still, but expectations against actual sales may be a distant apart. They need to get to the streamers etc. At least proper football is back tomorrow!!

Well, that's an absolutely lovely shade of Purple, Tone! I still maintain my favorite vinyl color is black, but I can appreciate colored vinyl on a color by color basis. My 2cd set arrived and the one word I use to describe the remix is stunning! Provided Amazon doesn't screw up again, Friday will be an embarrassment of riches with both this SDE and the Beatles box arriving. Thanks for all you do on this channel! I can't begin to tell you how much enjoyment I get every time I come here.

I never thought of using a guitar pick to get rid of the plastic cover. I could have saved myself a few cut fingers as I sometimes would get impatient and use my fingers.

Thanks for this video Tone, a nice t shirt and a very nice piece of coloured vinyl. My only bug bear with this and all new releases by all artists is this bloody awful ocean choking shrink wrap they put on bloody everything. Being something of a bit of a conservationist I do try to eliminate all plastic packaging where I can, so it's so annoying whenever I buy an album or a CD and have to do battle with the bloody stuff to get into it. Surely there has to be an alternative to this packaging that is more eco friendly. However, stepping down from my soap box, rant over. This is simply a fantastic remix of this album, and I can't sing it's praises enough, surely there has to be a Grammy for Paul Hicks sometime in the future for what he's done with this album. I'm sure George would be proud.

I’m talking about the proper commercial albums beginning with ATMP to Brainwash? (The soundtracks are on a different level and hard to rank properly with his pop releases). I ask because I’ve been reading that for most; Gone Troppo always seems to rank at the bottom, but I had my first full listen today and I found it really bright and enjoyable. I was further surprised George re-recorded “Circles” on there from the Beatles Esher demo days. Anyway I’m loving the release of Living in the Material World. I was kinda flabbergasted to realize George really only has 10 studio albums which seems out of whack. I’m happy they are doing this. We need more of this and more of George. Have a good day.

Well that would have made more sense . On one hand I understand why the brown inner is included - to make it faithful to the original. But on the other hand they have been unfaithful to the original by including a poly lined sleeve. Personally I prefer it this way as it's always good to have the poly lined sleeve . The price of records these days - it's the very least they can do

@ I only ordered it 2 days ago but when I say free postage it did cost an extra £20.00 plus I also bought a T-shirt. Having previously had experience with this highly recommended eBay seller shipping from the UK usually takes about 3-4 weeks. Sometimes it's faster if they use the Royal Mail service. My super deluxe LITMW on the other hand was purchased via the American GH merch shop and it seems stuck in APC logistics. There's been no tracking update since the November 15th which is disappointing considering the postage cost nearly as much as the boxset itself.
Hi Tone, just to let you know I got my box set from Amazon today, it arrived a day early so I'm happy with that. I'll be to busy to open until the weekend though. I just saw Dave's video and he got totally screwed from whatever website he ordered from. Apparently he order it weeks ago and it was supposed to be delivered on release day. First they told him it would be delayed and now they just told him they can't fulfill his order and they cancelled it. He's really pissed off. I guess they are selling it for inflated prices on eBay now. I hate those bastards who do that. Hope you don't mind me asking again, but I know you said you were getting your results today. Evening Tone Snowing up here tonight! ...what i think is odd ..the super deluxe doesn't have the fancy pants purple, pink vinyl just the regular black...unless black is the new purple lol..the other thing i was disappointed with the super deluxe, was the flimsy album sleeves were the poly lined cover and vinyl don't quite fit in properly! I would rather have had this proper cover which is nice
Snowing already? Im trying to remember where you live - Liverpool? I think the majority of vinyl buyers still prefer black so I guess that is thinking and then offering the coloured vinyl as something standalone makes sense to me. Ahh the inner sleeves - I think I know the reason why they dont fit but I'll be covering that in my review video later in the week.
Purple vinyl pretty cool. I doubt that it does this. But leave it under the light for a couple minutes and see if it glows. Probably not. But if it looks sort of pinkish in certain light. It might have that kind of material that would make it glow then, two favorite hits of LSD and you're on your way.

Maybe if it was 24K gold ... George's 4th album was his Plastic Ono Band, refuting the Beatles, in favor of "God" (not the one you're thinking of), and mostly forgettable, not a God among its tracks (John Lennon's version). It would be the first of many such disappointments, each one a rung lower, until 1987, with Cloud Nine, a return to form that didn't last. If he hadn't been a member of the Fab Four, he'd have been dropped in the mid-'70s.

It was better than Dark Horse, the next year, and lightyears better than Extra-Texture, in '75. If it had been his first release, as a solo act, he'd have been in the Cut-Out bin, a few weeks after release, and there would not have been any follow-u albums.

Maybe you forget that George owned 25% of the label that those follow up albums would be on. Would he rip up his own contract? 😂. And say he wasnt recording for his own label, what label would not give a follow up album when the debut had been a number one album - its nonsense. Ok I get it that you dont like the album and thats fine, but you should think through your argument if you want anyone to take your opinion seriously

Hi Tone, just to let you know I got my box set from Amazon today, it arrived a day early so I'm happy with that. I'll be to busy to open until the weekend though. I just saw Dave's video and he got totally screwed from whatever website he ordered from. Apparently he order it weeks ago and it was supposed to be delivered on release day. First they told him it would be delayed and now they just told him they can't fulfill his order and they cancelled it. He's really pissed off. I guess they are selling it for inflated prices on eBay now. I hate those bastards who do that.
Hope you don't mind me asking again, but I know you said you were getting your results today. Erin and I are both sending positive thoughts your way, so we are really hoping its good news. I know we never spoke or met in person, but we really do care.

Ive offered to help him out as I have a spare one but he hasn't contacted me yet and I have to take the spare back to the shop tomorrow so he may miss the boat. I will drop you an email later

I think it's Amazon.com that are selling it - it's like a milky white colour. You can still order it from there but obviously shipping to the UK makes it more expensive
Evening Tone Snowing up here tonight! ...what i think is odd ..the super deluxe doesn't have the fancy pants purple, pink vinyl just the regular black...unless black is the new purple lol..the other thing i was disappointed with the super deluxe, was the flimsy album sleeves were the poly lined cover and vinyl don't quite fit in properly! I would rather have had this proper cover which is nice
Snowing already? Im trying to remember where you live - Liverpool? I think the majority of vinyl buyers still prefer black so I guess that is thinking and then offering the coloured vinyl as something standalone makes sense to me. Ahh the inner sleeves - I think I know the reason why they dont fit but I'll be covering that in my review video later in the week.

Purple vinyl pretty cool. I doubt that it does this. But leave it under the light for a couple minutes and see if it glows. Probably not. But if it looks sort of pinkish in certain light. It might have that kind of material that would make it glow then, two favorite hits of LSD and you're on your way.

George's 4th album was his Plastic Ono Band, refuting the Beatles, in favor of "God" (not the one you're thinking of), and mostly forgettable, not a God among its tracks (John Lennon's version). It would be the first of many such disappointments, each one a rung lower, until 1987, with Cloud Nine, a return to form that didn't last. If he hadn't been a member of the Fab Four, he'd have been dropped in the mid-'70s.
Well we all hear things differently and I disagree with most of this. This album is excellent, with only one duff track.
@@beatleytonesbeatleschannel I'm happy you like it, and I'm sure wherever George is, he's happy too, but that opinion was not shared, by most of us in 1973. It was better than Dark Horse, the next year, and lightyears better than Extra-Texture, in '75. If it had been his first release, as a solo act, he'd have been in the Cut-Out bin, a few weeks after release, and there would not have been any follow-u albums.
@@TheAnarchitek Well I agree its a better album than Dark Horse and Extra Texture is an absolute stinker but this was a number one album so it's going nowhere near the cut out bin 'in a few weeks' and as for the comment that there would be no follow up that's pretty laughable. Maybe you forget that George owned 25% of the label that those follow up albums would be on. Would he rip up his own contract? 😂. And say he wasnt recording for his own label, what label would not give a follow up album when the debut had been a number one album - its nonsense. Ok I get it that you dont like the album and thats fine, but you should think through your argument if you want anyone to take your opinion seriously
