I am a HUGE fan of AJR. The Click is my favorite album. Ive seen them live twice. However, you actually gave it a chance and were fair in your criticisms. Unlike other reviews that just piled on hatred without genuine criticisms. I understand that people dont like the kind of sound they go for but I love it. Thank you for being a good critic and keeping an open mind, even if you didnt like it in the end
As a fan of AJR, I find them to be unique to the music I listen to, which is admittedly not exactly normal within itself. As a fan of musicals, I enjoy looking at a song in order to find a story that they want to tell. So by looking at these songs as self contained little stories that don’t need to be unique or kept reasonable. I like to compare it to a fairy tale, where the story is simple, the meaning is simple, and it doesn’t really have anything that needs to connect them all together. As someone who has been raised on older music (70s, 80s music), I enjoy having a band that is willing to just give a catchy beat, and a couple of good hooks. I don’t listen to much modern pop, so I don’t get overwhelmed by all the ‘mellinium pop’ things everyone else gets caught up with. In the end, all I have to say is you’re gonna like what you want, I can’t change that, so that’s fine by me. Enjoy what you want, and I’ll enjoy what I want. In the end, just have a good one and enjoy some music you think is good.
Yea....that's not how you make an album though. An album is a consistent theme, not a collection of random songs. If you like stories in music there are way better bands to listen to. The production and lyrics in these songs are nonsense. Even one of their songs on their own have no focus.
@@TECfan1 I have been thinking about that, and the idea I have come to is that perhaps the story is that none of these stories are connected. The way I like to think of it is that each song is a small production put on within the Neotheater as a play or movie. The same cast is used, but with different characters. Yes, this can lead to being miscast as a role, but it can also lead to having someone play a role they fit into incredibly well. And on your point of there being better bands to experience the story of their songs through, I agree. Of Monsters And Men often have outlandish stories told with odd details. And I love that kind of music. I also like to think that it's fair to give a song a listen, and if you don't enjoy it, accept that someone else likely will. Everyone has different taste in music. Don't make people feel guilty or stupid for liking something. I am a big AJR fan, but I don't feel offended. This review made me realise why so many people hate AJR. I really hope you do a part 2, I want to see what you think of Dear Winter especially. I think, that would probably be your favorite due to you liking Turning Out Part 2 but I wouldn't know for sure. I love AJR, so it was nice to see constructive criticism instead of complete disrespect through just smashing it without trying!
Maybe? Turning out pt.ii was prob PEAK after that there's not alot better, I love the entertainments here cause of the cluster of sounds which fits for me but apart from that wow I'm not crazy is OK, beats is FILLER but just meh, karma is ok but nothing taken from it, dear winter is ok with its message and finale has a decent beat but sorta weird.
The funniest video of all time in my opinion amazing video the humor editing everything is perfect I love this video so much whenever I feel down I turn on this video
Part 2 please!!!!! You are very honest and give it a chance. I’m personally an AJR fan and want to know what you think of the other songs on the album. Thank you!
i hate music critics because music is such an opinionated topic, it’s near impossible to find two people with the same exact music taste. and then they criticize a band and you choose to follow them and now your favorite band becomes your most hated band because of what they said. This video didn’t seem very biased tho and i could see all the points you were making which is a nice change
You put it into words very bad, just because you have an opinion, doesn’t mean they can’t voice theirs. You don’t have to take their word as gospel, no one does. Some people do, but that’s not a critics fault, that their audiences fault.
@@mocapcow2933 they can voice their critics, but they should just do it in a more respectful way. They can say they dont like the band but that its ok to like it yourself. I don't like people who make fun of a band because it makes you think that that band is something to be made fun of, not something to be friends with. If people made fun of a certain person a lot that person would not be very popular
I'm a fan of AJR and I totally appreciate how respectful you were with this review. You did an amazing job and I can completely see where you're coming from with everything you said.
So far you’ve been any favorite for reviewing this album. Even though you did criticize it you did bring up some good things and bad things. I love this album and AJR but notice some things every artist had their pros and cons. Thank you for pushing through and keeping an open mind and hopefully there will be a part 2
I really enjoy their songs, I guess it's just not for some people. Some people may not be weird enough or strange enough to get the meaning of each song. Sad to see that so many people hate AJR in my opinion their songs are very catchy, meaningful, and just plain enjoyable. I can see that they may put some weird noises/voices in their songs, but I just think that it makes the song better. I actually listen to the songs if I need to calm down, or if I'm having an anxiety attack. I like their quirkyness, and people shouldn't be hating them so much when their songs help many people. Others can still not enjoy the band or the type of music, but a full blown hate speach isn't by any means necessary. In my mind it's really inspiring three brothers (Adam, Jack, and Ryan) coming together to form a band.
I've performed in broadway shows, I've struggled with stress and anxiety, I really really connected with this album. I felt it really did piece the ideas together well, but structured the songs in a good way also. Dear winter was nice, but a bit out of place in my opinion. That's just my view though.
These guys throw in so many screechy, unnecessary effects and sound bites in to their music that I legitimately couldn't tell what was a Brad Edit and what was an actual part of the song
I love it how Brad was actually interested in Turning Out ii but I knew exactly what was coming, and how he'd hate it. I always skip that song (like many others) whenever I listen to the album. Some of the songs aren't bad, but some of the song (beats by whatever) are not for me.
Brooo you're like really funny, and this is one of the best videos on Neotheater I've seen! Prolly cos you have some of the same opinions I have with this album and your comedic timing is godlike lmao.
I personally like some of AJR's music because i can connect with it and get motivated. I understand that not all people have the same taste in music, and that's a good thing! I'm glad you went in with a positive mind set and i was able to relate to some of your feedback! This is the first video i've seen by you, so I'm looking forward to seeing more!
Neotheater was an album that was the album we didn't want, need, or deserve. But personally, this is my 1st experience with AJR and I'm kinda glad with what we got. It's the lowest denominator but they handled the denominator with care. 5++ Edit: Next Up Forever is a lower Good Noodle Birthday Party is an upper Shrug 100 Bad Days is lower Trash Legos is mid shrug Face is lower shrug. That's all the songs I have an opinion on rn
I like your review because it was a fair honest opinion and I respect how you gave the album and songs a chance, unlike other reviews. But at the end of the day it's all opinions so thanks for the video! I enjoyed your honesty!
I like how almost every comment I read here is by an AJR fan. I like them too bestie, not every single one of their songs of course. But everything is not made for me, right? This song that seems like “it should not EXIST” to me, may be relatable to someone else. I’d like to respect that.😊
i really like your channel and i really love ajr so i was excited when i saw this, even if you didn’t enjoy it. thank you for at least trying to be open minded and respectful, instead of hating on it just because it’s every other yt critic does. hope you do a part two
I thing that really bothers me about this album is that they TRIED to put a part of a song by a different group in each song. (One Republic, t.o.p, ect.) They announced it on their Instagram and it's just so lazy
definitely want to see a part 2. your reactions of distaste are incredibly entertaining, but even more than that, it’s nice to hear how i feel about this album put into words that i’m unable to find
Personally, I like AJR's style but it makes sense why people don't like it, it can be random in a way and out of place but I think it worksfor . Everyone is allowed their own opinion as long as they aren't spewing hate. Would like to see a part 2, I feel like you'd like Dear Winter as it's quite a raw song without a lot of added sounds.
As an AJR fan that has heard turning out part 2, it was excruciating seeing brad actually like the song knowing what’s coming next… ahhhhhhhhahhhahhhahhhah🗣️🗣️🗣️
As a gigantic ajr fan, of course I'm biased. but you actually gave them a chance even th8ygh they aren't your style which I respect. but let me also say that a lot of the lyrics and background vocals you didn't like or understand are vocals and lyrics that inky fans will understand from watching lives and following them and understanding thus style of music. if you don't like it, you don't like it and that's fine, but ajr has an extremely unique sound and a very set tone to their music, it's indie, it's fun and it's not for those who aren't into thus style of music. I respect ajr forever because they started off of nothing, they started street performing and they produced their first album for $90, they make their music in their living room, and they don't get pushed back by hate l. they recently started the neotheater world tour and I've heard a lot of people say it's the best concert they've been to. they sold out radio city music hall and they're doing amazing, they're getting big because they're unique and original, they talk about real things and experiences, so forever live to them.
Thanks for at least trying, you actually EXPLAINED what you thought was wrong with it other than just saying “it’s garbage” because that’s what most of the other people say. They are really “different”? I guess, and I get it, but I still like them. Also, great humor 👌
I personally like Neo theater just find Neo theater just fine and AJR as a whole though I am starting to agree with a lot of your criticisms. I would really like a part 2
When for the first time I heard "Birthday party", I thought what kind of baby shit. Now this is my favorite song and I constantly sing it several times a day. Not always the first impression is true.
I personally love the weird little noises, that’s where they differ from those other groups that they have similarities to. I understand people not liking it though, I’ll admit it took me a while to get used to. I find most fans say that it takes them a few listens to really get it. But thank you for actually giving it a chance and giving actually critiques.
I'm Italian and I just discovered AJR (I think I'm the only in Italy that knows them) so I didn't know all the hate part. I loved them. I saw your video because I read pleased instead of biased. I watched the whole video. I want to cry.

And I honestly think that you by far made actual sense of why it was no good in your opinion unlike other reactions I heard from other youtubers so thank you for not completely trashing their entire album and for actually having open ears because you actually made little sense .
I feel like the second half of this album is a lot better
No its not lmao
@@richard-f its is tho lmfao
Kodek
For me it’s:
1. Karma
2. Turning Out pt. ii
3. Birthday Party
4. Dear Winter
5. Don’t Throw Out My Legos
@@richard-f opinions am i right
This is an awesome video
I just hope you like Dear Winter
Cant wait for part 2 dude!
The funniest video of all time in my opinion amazing video the humor editing everything is perfect I love this video so much whenever I feel down I turn on this video
I think their names are ARTV Spectrum Pulse and Brad Taste in Music
Part 2 please!!!!!
You are very honest and give it a chance. I’m personally an AJR fan and want to know what you think of the other songs on the album. Thank you!
i hate music critics because music is such an opinionated topic, it’s near impossible to find two people with the same exact music taste. and then they criticize a band and you choose to follow them and now your favorite band becomes your most hated band because of what they said. This video didn’t seem very biased tho and i could see all the points you were making which is a nice change
You put it into words very well
You put it into words very bad, just because you have an opinion, doesn’t mean they can’t voice theirs.
Dear Winter was really good tho....
Not really
richard f it’s subjective
Eh
Yeah, I like it too
I liked it too
Thanks for giving a genuine unbias and fair review we need more channels like this
woah thank you for putting my review in your video!!!
Addieeee
Hey, look, it’s that one person from Brads Discord server.
The album is terrible! You just want to go against the grain!
@@surprisinglyroomy no I saw them live twice and cried both times bro I genuinely enjoy the music
PcPowerUp you really don’t have to... and shouldn’t
I love this album!!
It’s definitely better the second time around
I'm a fan of AJR and I totally appreciate how respectful you were with this review. You did an amazing job and I can completely see where you're coming from with everything you said.
I may not agree with you on every point but I sosoososo appreciate the way you approached this review.
16:13 Tyler Joseph, is that you?
Holy, you're right
Do a part 2! The next 2 songs, The Entertainment's Here and Karma is really good!
So far you’ve been any favorite for reviewing this album. Even though you did criticize it you did bring up some good things and bad things. I love this album and AJR but notice some things every artist had their pros and cons. Thank you for pushing through and keeping an open mind and hopefully there will be a part 2
The ending to next up forever was amazing lmao
Personally I love this album but tbh with all the good points you brought up, I can see why people dislike it. (Still love it though lol)
Can you stop saying hate? Most are critising it
@@richard-f some critics just get overly passionate about their criticisms and it comes off as hate
@@samuelvansuilichem6415 No, ita just you people getting over the criticisms
@@richard-f i suppose ur entitled to ur opinion brah
@@richard-f ive seen allott of replys from you and theyre all hate tbh

I.... genuinely don’t understand the hate
I do
Its mostly not hate its just criticism
Ok, they suck. Does that make a little more sense?
@@faro8784 i like them
You just have to understand it. It’s the only way you’d like it
I've performed in broadway shows, I've struggled with stress and anxiety, I really really connected with this album. I felt it really did piece the ideas together well, but structured the songs in a good way also. Dear winter was nice, but a bit out of place in my opinion. That's just my view though.
literally the only review of ajr that doesn't just throw hate at them
watch david restituto he says lots of nice things about them (sadly he only has reacted to ok orchestra so far)
Says a lot though when he’s actively trying to be positive and it’s still a terrible album to listen too 😂
These guys throw in so many screechy, unnecessary effects and sound bites in to their music that I legitimately couldn't tell what was a Brad Edit and what was an actual part of the song
😂😂 the edit with Jon and Mark shredding AJR always kills me
I'm a huge AJR fan, but I didn't like the political stuff in "birthday party" either
I didn’t know Tyler Joseph also makes music reviews. 🤔

Edit:
Next Up Forever is a lower Good Noodle
Birthday Party is an upper Shrug
100 Bad Days is lower Trash
Legos is mid shrug
Face is lower shrug.
That's all the songs I have an opinion on rn
I like your review because it was a fair honest opinion and I respect how you gave the album and songs a chance, unlike other reviews. But at the end of the day it's all opinions so thanks for the video! I enjoyed your honesty!
Im guessing your referring to artv right?
Hey look someone who actually give constructive and fair criticism and dosent just pile on hate. Thank you I think...
Edit: Yes thank you!!
You should do a part 2, I actually think you’ll like Finale (We can’t wait to see what you do next)
Please do a 2nd part. I'm interested to see what you think of Karma
I actually kinda liked their single Burn The House Down. It was pretty catchy.
Na, i think the drums are too simple and it sounds really bad, also that trumpet solo its too overused to the point it feels annoying.
@@gonzap8846 Eh, I can see it. But as repetitive pop songs go, I thought it was okay. Not good, but harmless.
I liked it but they went down the Trump bashing millennial route with it.
It was relly good!
Their some of my FAVORITE songs literally ever(.)
Please do kevin abstract album reaction.... ARIZONA BABY
Jacob Vereen PLEASE
Was just about to comment this
Thanks for at least trying, you actually EXPLAINED what you thought was wrong with it other than just saying “it’s garbage” because that’s what most of the other people say. They are really “different”? I guess, and I get it, but I still like them. Also, great humor 👌
I personally like Neo theater just find Neo theater just fine and AJR as a whole though I am starting to agree with a lot of your criticisms. I would really like a part 2
I'm a big fan of your style, comedy and interesting critiques. I'd love a part 2!
But thank you for actually giving it a chance and giving actually critiques.
yall need to make a pt 2
Yes he needs to.
I have been waiting for part two for like a year now please make a part two of the reaction of this video like you did.
The album was supposed to be about their life
I'm Italian and I just discovered AJR (I think I'm the only in Italy that knows them) so I didn't know all the hate part. I loved them. I saw your video because I read pleased instead of biased. I watched the whole video. I want to cry.
Birthday Party is actually about how when you're younger everything seems like it's gonna be perfect but in reality it's not
You look like a sleep deprived Tyler Joseph
I'm down for part 2, it's kinda funny when you already know a wailing vocal is about to happen and we just have to watch as your face goes from ·__· to -__-
I really enjoyed this and hope you make a part 2!!
24:37 That editing is hilarious.
it's actually really interesting to see other people's perspective, because i really like birthday party (including the weird vocal parts) and i thought others might like it too.
YOOO i thought i was tho only person who heard stressed out in the beat drop of birthday party!
Now that I know ajr. I know who produces all the add bump music! Thanks!
