Further, in 1/4 mile tests in Car & Driver the C8 and AMG GTS (and we don't know for sure this was an S trim either) ran identical 1/4 miles at 11.1 seconds, in Motor Trend the C8 ran 11.1 to the AMG GTS' 11.2 . I'm not really sure you're up on the performance capabilities of the C8, perhaps you should look into it.
Nothing wrong here to include with the c8 driver. It’s the price you pay for living over 3800-5000 ft above sea level. I think MANY of you don’t understand drag racing, elevation and air density altitude. This track is at 4700 ft above sea level, nearly a mile high. A turbo or supercharged vehicle will run a little slower than at sea level elevation and about 300-2000 ft DA. This Benz ran just about stock in terms of times, it was quick, and a little slower than normal due to elevation DA, though 119 mph is still pretty fast. 122-123 mph is the norm for these down lower. Stock C8 at sea level should give this Benz a very even run, but due to that elevation/DA, the power loss is around 17% thus it ran a not-so-quick 12.7 which is about 1.2 to 1.3 sec slower than down low and the speed is not fast either, running 108 mph vs 117-118 stock. So this lines up right and expected for a NA vehicle. It’s the price you pay for living up high in elevation or where the DA goes over 4200 ft 5-8 months a yr like in Palm Springs, CA, Bakersfield, CA, Phoenix, AZ and Tucson. FL and TX, and all those south and southeast costal states don’t get to bad in summer, just crazy humid which brings DA up near 3000-3400 ft even at 40-190 ft track elevation. If you are all about acceleration and want a quick time, don’t buy a NA vehicle in high mountainous areas or deserts.
I doubt it. These things with a competent driver have gone as fast as 10.7 at nearly 130mph bone stock. Even on an unprepared surface they'll do 11 flat pretty much all day. Quickest I've seen from a C8 is 11.1 at 123 mph.
That Corvette is not as fast as I thought it would be. I guess they also have quite a few quality control manufacturing issues going on at the factory.

If the Vette is brand new the computer will hold it back until it has surpassed a certain mileage to prevent any engine tear, but after that stock can do 10-11 seconds

One thing worth noting, these cars are running in Denver. While that vette would not run a 10 stock, it’s going to be slower due to altitude. That Merc is twin turbo v8, so it’ll have much less power loss due to altitude.

I think the mile high altitude may have caused a slower time in the 1/4 mile. That car should be able to do the quarter mile in 11.5 to 12.0 seconds.

Something ain't right with this. Even at 5300' 108 trap speed is way low. Off the line acceleration of the Vette was brutal regardless of Merc drivers reaction time. Plus the merc weighs like 1500lbs more AT LEAST. My stage 1 tune for my E63 AMG S walks hellcats and corvettes all day. Stop light to stop light or 60mph roll races on the freeway. Both cars needed driver mods, but a stock AMG will beat a stock C8 anyday, anytime.
