Wow Christian you have shot up to number one as my favourite RUclips piano teacher! Loving the attention to detail and such a cool tune that I always wanted to learn! Thank you!
"Then I heard your take Now I'm a believer" Excellent breakdown man and how you conveyed an obsession with detail in just over 13 min is exemplary. The viewer feels respected and I would expect, the Artists too, so your dharma is right on imo.
@@christianklikovitsYou're welcome Christian. I would recommend people check out Kent Nishimura's (instrumental) cover of this song if they would like to hear a (young) master at work.
Finally, a player that not only knows the song but can show the theory behind this classic Michael McDonald's awesome song. Thank you for this video, I really appreciate you. You have a new sub
@christianklikovits My pleasure, thank you, I've been through about a half dozen videos in the past 2 days on this song to refresh my old arrangement of this classic tune and finally I ran into your channel and your the only one to put it all together and your video is breathing some life into my old arrangement
Hey Everybody...I just discovered the "Super-Like" button - where i usually "Save" vids like this gem- $2 felt like the least i could do. Christian, You May Be A Genius...but it seems your Subject matter has kept you remarkably humble. Such a pleasure to learn from.
A very different style, but it would be nice to have some David Ackles transcriptions, especially the ballads (e.g. "Love's Enough", "One Night Stand", "Waiting for the Moving Van", "I've Been Loved", "A Photograph of You", etc.).
@@christianklikovits First of all - thank you for this tutorial! Some friends were discussing this, nerding it out and pointed me to your movie. When I listened again I think your analysis is right, but I hear an additional voice, a D both in the F and Fmi/F# chords, coming from an E in the C7/E that makes it a F6 resp. a Fm6 (or a D half-diminished 7th) over F#. Anyway - an analysis of that chord over the F# might be a bit too vertical thinking with those passing notes. Thanks again!
@@HakanGlante The D would make perfect sense on the two F chords, and I took quite some time trying to decide whether it's there or, but I'm just not hearing it. Watching his hands in the live videos - it also doesn't seem to be there. But I could be mistaken...
"Genius is in the details"
I love it!
That's why I don't compose, I interpret.

You're welcome 🙂
Very detailed and loved the way u played it! All I was missing was a full play at the end!
I'm REALLY grateful for having discovered your channel today, AWESOME!! All the bass-t from kayo
Thank you so much, Kayo, I appreciate that 🙏🙂
Another great song analysis Christian. I love this song by the Doobie Brothers--along with Minute By Minute and What a Fool Believes.
Thank you, Larry 🙏
Just found you - I was really having trouble with the chorus- thanks so much! Love your theoretical breakdown. You are amazing- I just subscribed! 💫
Thank you, Karen 🙏🙂
Excellent job. It sounds wonderfully/beautifully complicated to the ear, and quite simple for the hands, thank you Christian!!!!
Thank you, Joe!
So detailed and well explained, thanks so much!!!🙌
My pleasure 🙂

Wonderfully ecplained!! You refer this to blues music. Even more so, this is Gospel music. Big part of Michaels back ground.

Great breakdown. Thank you

Thank you for this great tutorial Christian! Are you using the Studio Grand 2 piano sample on the Nord Piano? It sounds great!
Thank you, Anthony! I'm actually just using the Nord as a controller, the sound comes from Keyscape (Spectrasonics).
Can you do a tutorial on Minute By Minute and What a Fool Believes?
Hi Joe, they're on my list. For now, I did a short on the opening riff of 'What a fool believes"...
After a quick listen I hear a Ab/Gb instead of Fm/G# in the chorus. What do you think?
I'm fairly confident that it's Fmi...

@@christianklikovits I’m pretty sure I heard the D in the harmony vocals.
Let me check again later.
