As someone with curly hair I get amazed when people say they wash it every day. I get tired once a week
TaMara Farmer how long can u go without washing ur hair? (im just curious bc i have straight hair lol)
Paulina Janikowski I go 3-4 weeks if I have braids in but I usually do a conditioner wash with no shampoo every week and then shampoo every 2 weeks
Br3ka woah that’s interesting! i have to wash mine every other day hahah
Right!? Like twice a week max. And us curly girls are probably experts on conditioning masks hahahaha! Not to mention how long the after-shower product application takes, plopping etc hahaha
TaMara Farmer I’m the opposite, I have really thick curly hair and if I don’t wash it every day it loses its curl and gets frizzy :( any tips?

"I use a lot of dry shampoo"

I love how this lady who mostly uses dry shampoo says oh so I can totally do this at home, after the lady says she's been doing this for 30 years.
It took me 58 years to find a good and honest hairstylist who told me she only washes her hair once a week because it is not good for our hair to wash it regularly. Most hairstylists want to sell their products as well as the shampoo companies, the more we frequently wash, the sooner we need to replace our shampoo and conditioners. I switched to organic shampoos just once a week, I treat my hair to a natural hair mask, I am eating foods that help my hair, since it all starts with what we eat, and now my hair looks healthier! Great video as always, thank you!
Fabiola M what shampoo do you use if you don’t mind me asking ? Thanks 🙏🏻
@@kahinarichaud-mammeri8086 At the moment I am using Alba Botanica Hawaiian Coconut Milk shampoo and conditioner. I have also used the Avalon Organics brand. What has helped me the most is eating better, drinking plenty of water, washing my hair only once a week, not using straighteners, letting my hair air dry, and I treat my hair to a natural mask the day I shampoo. Even though I exercise every day, my hair looks nice and clean. By day 5 or 6, I just pick it up if necessary. A very important factor for healthy hair is what we eat! I highly recommend: The Uma Show: ruclips.net/video/8pKr-6AJo00/видео.html. Uma, who is 46, has several videos on foods and natural masks for healthy hair. Also Dr Axe: ruclips.net/video/yibhP_wI7bw/видео.html. Do not expect results in a couple of weeks, it takes longer! Find out what works for your hair type and be consistent. Hope that helps! Best wishes! 🙏❤️
I'm asian and i was always surprised about the daily wash thing Westerners do
bacterial proliferation is actually way worse than washing your hair everyday
Fabiola M my greasy hair could never do once a week
IF YOUR HAIR FREQUENTLY GETS GREASY NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU WASH IT (like the video said ) YOU PROBABLY HAVE A LOT OF BUILDUP. okay, now that i have your attention i really want to share this with the people struggling with greasy hair!! i used to have incredibly greasy hair, no matter how often i showered. it was especially greasy in the very back of my head. i went to get my hair highlighted at a stylist’s home because she was my go-to stylist and she wasn’t working that day. i get there and she’s prepping and putting foils into my hair and then proceeds to show me her running the blade of scissors down a few pieces of my hair. when i tell you my jaw dropped when this white, dusty build up started flaking off everywhere, i’m not kidding. she told me this was the build up from using shampoos like pantene and that it was from the silicone inside of them. i recall using a friend’s shampoo once that said “silicone free” and it made my hair feel cleaner but i didn’t think anything of it. so after she explains the buildup causation to me she tells me that i should really stop using pantene so much and buy a clarifier. at first i was like great.. something expensive that i don’t need. and she said i should be clarifying my hair at least once a week, and i had NEVER clarified by hair (so it was definitely wayy over due to clarify). she told me she had one that she used and recommended in her bathroom and that we’d use it when we washed out the bleach from the highlights. we used it and oh my lorddd, my hair was so much better after one wash. it’s called suave daily clarify, it’s blue and works so amazing. not only does it make your hair feel lighter in weight (because you’re getting rid of all that greasy buildup), but it also lightens in color because the greasiness darkens your hair. i know this was long but i hope this helped someone:)
Wow i never know that pantene has silicone in it, shit i didnt know any shampoo does ! Thanks for that info!
thank you soooo much, I get greasy hair a lot and this help me loads
Suave is a game changer and super cheap. I got the shampoo and conditioner. I use it 3x week, is that too much? What other shampoo do you use between washes?
Not all heroes wear capes
Oh, thanks for your share, it is totally useful. Thanks a lot
I think i 've got greasy hair for long time, i don't wanna got it anymore :((
the background music was a bit to loud when the lady that did the treatment talked. But great video loved it
you were kind of rude and talking over the lady!! you never gave her time to fully finish her sentences! but overall cool video!
looking for this comment so i didn’t have to say it
sophia k uhh, the blonde lady, Ella. Is talking over the scalp cleaning lady!
Seriously. Interrupting is my greatest pet-peeve.
I couldn't finish video. The blonde host was too fuckin annoying
She kept saying how “you could totally do this at home.” Screw your job lady. I’m gonna do this myself from now on. Why should I pay you?
omg please dont talk over someone PERIOD. especially if english isnt their first language theyre trying to construct the sentence in their head and that completely thows them off!
I'm so confused I watched the whole video when did she talk over her I only caught her semi doing it like 3 times???
Huh? All you’re doing is helping them out lol I do this with my mom since English isn’t her second language and my mom does it to me cause I don’t speak Spanish very well
@Ms. Kim then never travel to other countries while speaking just in your own one😛
Dont you feel that your comment is a bit outdated for 21st century?
Butterball2829 i think she just have a strong personality that comes off as rude.
Ms. Kim ah so how many languages do you speak? Just English? Go back to England

Yes me too😭😊
washing your hair everyday omg my hair is screaming lol only like 2-3 times a week, it'll be super greasy the first few times you skip a day or two, but eventually your hair will get used to it and become less greasy longer. also, by removing the oils from ur scalp, it will compensate by making more oils,.
Kaitlyn ohhh Im doing the same as well. I only wash twice a week but i workout almost everyday which makes my hair really oily. Is it still okay to just wash it twice a week? Or should i wash it every after workout?
@@seventeensebong2185 I asked my dermatologist because I work out almost everyday. She said washing your hair with shampoo too frequently is bad but also the build up of the sweat is not good either. She recommended to just rinse the scalp with water in between shampoos. I do rinse my hair sometimes when my hair feels very wet from a workout and it works quite well!
That's a myth, your scalp won't overcompensate.
@@cannowli2337 Yup. I've been trying to wash my hair every three days for months now with sulfate and silicone free shampoo. Doesn't make it better. My scalp will still get oily on day 2. Some people just have oily scalps. It's not determined by how many times you wash but mostly by hormones.
Well I tried that and my hair is the same only I am more time with my greasy hair
She was lowkey getting on my nerves
Glad I am not alone hehe
YES RIGHT like the eW tHaTs So dIsGuStInG like yeah we get it it’s disgusting now stfu and let the lady finish her sentences

When I was in Japan, women had the most beautiful, perfect hair. I think they spend lots of money in treatments, products and good haircuts, (plus amazing hair genetics), but I never saw one of them look neglected.
I'd love to find treatments and products that worked for me too.

Um, just wash less often, moisturize well, and do more protective styles(for white people, french braids, loose buns, etc for black people twists, box braids, etc) Save your coin, just do simple tips and you'll be fine
Preston Siegler thanks for including white girl tips too! I didn’t know that we should protect our hair too
lauren williams everyone’s hair should be protected. your hair type may not need it as intensively as our hair does, but damage doesn’t have favorites
lauren williams yes! Even straight silky hair can get damaged really easily, especially if you sleep on it loose - that’s how you get breakage and bad tangles
What do you mean by protective styles?
Rensie Niltiac protective styles do two things: they’re low maintenance, meaning they stay in place without any touching up or re-doing, and they protect your hair from physical and environmental agitation (ie, breakage from rubbing against your pillowcase or weather damage). OP included some good examples for both straight and natural hair types
i literally have so much dandruff if she looked at my scalp under that microscope i'd cry
U are me! I'm you
Basically she gets oily hair fast because she washes her hair everyday, she takes off all her natural oil every day with the shampoo so her hair follicles "know" that she doesn't has oil to moisturize her hair and it creates more and more oil. Washing every two days it's perfect for greasy hair, I have mixed hair (greasy on the scalp, dry on the ends) And I wash my hair 2 times a week and its just perfect, it even grow up faster since I don't wash it so regularly, cause it doesn't really needs that.
I actually only wash my hair every 3 days and when I do wash it, I only put shampoo on my scalp and only put conditioner on the length of my hair. Idk why but I feel like the natural oils your hair makes will do most of the conditioning for you🤷🏻♀️(but I still use leave in spray and moisturizing oils lol)
That's how it's supposed to be done. Because I have dry, kinky hair I wash mine only once a week max, but I clarify and condition and deep condition with steam once a month.🤷🏿♀️
Katie Jones same here! 😄
I bet that was so relaxing
The best pro tip I got from a hairdresser was : wash your hair every three to four day, but when you do, shampoo it twice (like rince - shampoo - rince - shampoo - rince) and rince it well. And it worked oh so well.
if i don’t take a shower and wash my hair/shampoo it my hair gets oily help plsss
I had a similar thing done and it did really help. For 3 months I only washed my hair 2 times/week because it stayed clean longer
Me too lol. Cant wait to do it again
Her hair looks so gorgeous afterwards!! So shiny and light!
Stylist done a great job on the scalp. Hair looked amazing afterwards.
The background music gave me headache
I wash my hair twice or three times a week in winter. In summer, because I don't blow dry it and I go swimming every day, I wash it with shampoo and use mask once a week or every 10 days. When summer is over, my hair looks and feels amazing! I'm a hair dresser and it took me a very long time to learn how to take care of my scalp. Great video!!! 😁 Love from Spain!!
if i don’t take a shower and wash my hair/shampoo it my hair gets oily help plsss
I really hope there's specialists like this here in Norway. My head full of seborrheic dermatitis would seriously love a treatment like this 😭
her looking the hairstylist dead in the eyes made it soo uncomfortable for me to even watch
7:55 “so now i’m perfect”
guuuuurl 😒 ur far from that. she sounds so condescending and rude to the the lady who just gave her good service. kudos to her for being very patient and very nice.
Omg so glad everyone agreed. she was way too much
After watching, I rinsed my hair & massaged my scalp. Thank you
Bro I would be SLEEP AF. That looks so relaxing.

I have hair loss and this is very helpful.
Love What The Wellness!! This segment was eye opening! 😍🤣 I’m constantly looking at ways, mostly natural ways to keep scalp nourished and clean 😍🙏🏾😘 #keepglowing
If you take one of those natural bristle brush. The stiff like boars hair one. It helps to spread the oil so it's not as bad and your ends will be more moisturised
where can we get this in DC / MD area ?
You can train your hair to need less washing. I used to wash my hair every other day. A few months ago I found out I actually have wavy hair and I wanted to wash it less. At first I kept 2 days in between washes, then 3 and now I can go about four days in between washing my hair. You just have to get through the part were your hair is greasy. So I wash my hair about 1-2 times a week. I only wash it 3 times if I might have put too much styling products on my hair or I sweated a lot which creates a lot of buildup. I use a sulfate free natural shampoo which cured my dandruff problem fast and once every 2 weeks I use a (deep) cleansing shampoo with a gentle sulfate (sodium coco sulfate) and a scalp detox serum. And then I use conditioner and the occasional deep moisturizing mask. If you're used to using shampoos with strong sulfates like SLS it might feel weird using a gentler sulfate or no sulfate shampoo. But keep using it. Your hair just needs to get used to it. Our body's can adapt to a lot of things if you give them the time.
Now I have wavy (2a/2b) hair with high porosity in the lengths but low porosity on my roots. I have medium/thin hair and low density hair. So keep that in mind.
Products/brand I recommend and tried:
-Petal fresh (mint and lavender line) sulfate free
-Maui moisture (hair masks!!!! Bamboo shampoo) sulfate and silicone free
-Lush shampoo bar: angel hair (gentle sulfate) creamy lather and not stripping.
-Briogeo: their whole scalp line. I use the scalp serum weekly. The conditioner has light moisture but is very cooling for the scalp. The shampoo is great for some exfoliation. Also the curly styling creme and gel. I have thin and low density hair so I do really well with protein which these styling products contain. Also no hard cast.
I only wash my hair once or twice a week. Ngl sometimes I can go a bit longer. I used to have really greasy hair but not so much anymore. The first couple of days while it's clean I don't put any product in it. Whenever it looks a bit flat I'll put some dry shampoo in it. I usually do this for a couple days. Then once I start noticing my hair looking a bit greasy I curl, straighten, or blow dry it. That can usually get 2 or 3 more days out of it. Just remember to put it up in a bun at night so it doesn't get stuck in weird directions while you sleep or so it doesn't get too knotted. My curls can last up to 4 days that way!
I would love this as someone with a really oily scalp I have lots of problems like dandruff and zits on my scalp.
I’m a stylist and we need this on the East Coast. I need this 😍
I only wash my hair every three days and even then it’s not completely greasy when it’s time to wash. What I do before hopping into the shower is brush my hair really thoroughly to distribute the natural oils to the length of my hair so there’s natural moisturization. I’d recommend doing that for those who have bleached or damaged hair because it helps a lot from my experience. Hope this helps for anyone :)
This was actually kinda relaxing
Next time I wash my hair I’ll scrub my scalp with sandpaper...
Atomic Moose No! Nice joke, but that can ruin your hairs roots, making a lot of your hair damaged in your future!
Camryn Deppe I would never do that of course!😂
As someone living in a tropical country, I get surprised when people say they don’t wash their hair everyday.😅
#WellGoodSquad!!!💛🙋🏾♀️
So, this would feel amazing!!! Is it necessary? No. It's luxurious!
I need to try not wash my hair for like a week at a time because it gets greasy within 24 hours and I’ve left it for days and it still happens. Makes me so insecure so I just started washing it everyday
Amy same here. I have up on trying to do that, and I’ve actually found that my hair is healthier when wash it more frequently. Fine haired people can’t seem to win! Haha
Same here too! My hair gets super greasy if I don’t wash it every day. As a child, I didn’t wash my hair every day and only once a week and it go so greasy.
Becky T Right! My scalp is so dry from washing everyday but I just can’t handle it being greasy I feel so dirty and get judged
Elissa Lam So frustrating!
Amy Train your scalp!!Try not washing everyday and only wash for once a week for a month or two,I promise you’ll see progress
Very informative! Thank you.
Music is way too loud. If this is meant to be educational as well, lower it so can hear her.
Your hair at the beginning was screaming for some love. Definitely a 360° change.
360 degree would be no change at all, and she would be right back to where she began. You mean 180
You have time to edit your comment to put 180 since 360 means no change was made.

That was gratifying.
How do you wash daily and use a lot of dry shampoo too? Her hair was plastered to her head.
I would love to get this treatment.
I loved it
WOW THAT HAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How long before your scalp is back to how it was? Doesn’t product buildup just do that?
I wish I could find in Portugal a place like that. Hair and scalp specialist.
Nice video.
Iam so happy to watching this video, technology is so amazing
I’m a trooper for watching this while I eat
Thanks doe posting this, I go next week for my first one at a local Japanese salon. Yay! I’ve been seeing a dermatologist for a year for itchy scalp and he just says I have ‘excess flora’ on my scalp - ew! This may become a regular thing for me, but expensive at $90 for a ‘Japanese head spa.’
I so need this! Please please please come to the UK 🇬🇧 PLEASE! 🙏😍🤞🥰
What’s funny is that this video came out when I was struggling with scalp issues and it’s been a week ago 😂
Jina Mooni omg same!!! 😂
Me too and i need all the products in a kit.
This makes me want to go wash my head. I want one now
How often you wash varies person by person depending on hair and skin types, just like how you do facial care. For example, I absolutely have to wash once a day if I don't want my hair to feel uncomfortably greasy because I have extremely flat hair and a naturally greasier skin/scalp. Both of my sisters' hair has a lot more volume so they can go two or three days (or more). Also if you exercise every day you should also wash your hair.
@Andrea Trinidad I have done that and it doesn't work. I just feel gross. I did it for most of a semester.
I wonder if they can work with every hair type?
Please can anyone tell me how water reaches to the scalp? I mean through cuticle of the hair?
Or inside the cortex layer!
But how much does it cost?
Omg my hair gets greasy SO FAST too. Nobody ever understands that I have to wash my hair every day.
As someone with thick waist length hair, and has to use head and shoulders itchy scalp care (any other type of shampoo make my head itch really bad.) I would love to do this to my scalp and see what comes off it🤔....
Tea tree oil shampoo is good for scalp and hair also goat milk soap is good too.
Makes hair and scalp healther for both gender great for kids and teenagers not just adult.
I've got thick Italian oily hair, so have to wash my hair once a week or every 3 days. If I wash my hair everyday its a frizzy mess!!
I feel you 😪
So what's a good shampoo for this
Hi where can I buy the scalp steam cap
I washed my hair like 13 hours ago, and my scalp is oily again and dry. But my hair is too thick to wash everyday😐
reminds me of when i would stare into my ortho's eyes every time he fixed my wires
why did you do that
If you over wash, your dehydrated scalp will compensate by over producing oil. And that dry shampoo really clogs your pores. Focus on hydration of your scalp and body, and your hair oil production
will stabilize
Does anyone know an exfoliating shampoo brand that is legit?! Been struggling to find an actual exfoliating shampoo .. :(
IS THIS GOING TO HELP THE THIN HAIR
Nice video👍😊
Where can i find this in Montreal??
I have dandruff so I would looove someone to scrub my scalp lmao
I have itchy scalp…. will this help?
Where did you go to do this I would love to try it I have the same problem I wash my hair every day because if I dont it gets greasy so fast so I would love to know where this was
Lauren Stone washing your hair everyday is what’s causing it to become greasy! You should only wash your hair 1-3 times per week (depending on type of hair, person etc). Definitely try to use a good Dry Shampoo because that will help contain oil on days you’re not washing and over time, your scalp will learn to produce less oil!
This won't stop ur hair from being greasy
I might be just ignorant but I don't understand, if U wash your hair everyday why would U need "alot of dry shampoo "????
It adds a textured beachy look
@@pattikubota thank you Patti, i wasn't too sure
She has pretty fine thin hair... dry shampoo makes strands look a lot thicker.
Thanks guys, I've got fine hair myself, maybe I'll give it a try
an ombre hairstyle like the girl has also just by default makes ur scalp/roots look oilier bc it is darker
All this in a kit i can buy....please....stuck inside....please it would make my year!
