I updated many bios in the middle of tornados, absolutely no problem what so ever. Well once a small tree crashed through the window and drilled itself through the motherboard. Yes, the update was ruined but it didn't really matter at that point anyway...

Do you have any sound popping/crackling issues? I have this board and can't figure out what's causing the audio crackling/popping. It's not driver related, and it's not GPU related. Tried using hdmi to 4K HDTV, and tried using audio jacks in the back with speakers/surround sound system. Both have the same issues with the crackling/popping. Done 4 days worth of troubleshooting with reinstalling windows, updating bios, chipset drivers, disabling quick start-up, rolling back audio drivers, changing sound hz settings in windows, changing power performance settings etc... and nothing I do fixes it. I've been at it for 4 days straight and am pulling my hair out! Do you have any issues with sound popping/crackling with this MB? I need help!

Aloha, CPU has to be installed. From there you can install Windows..than the drivers. If all is running smoothly, you don't have to update bios. If you have HW issues or some other compatibility issue..than consider bios update.

I don't need to install drivers yet? That's a great gaming CPU+mobo combo you have BTW but it really needs the 3200Mhz RAM to shine.
Guys, my mobo got bricked after using the flash update. I tried the newest bios 7C79v1C from 2022-06-23. I am requesting a new one from the warranty. Furthermore, I think the right update should be the 7C79v16 from 2021-02-04, right? Anyone here is using 11th gen processors on the z490 mobo from msi?

I have the MPG Z490M GAMING EDGE WIFI and I can't get past the BIOS settings, when I reboot the system, it goes back into BIOS and I can't get beyond that?? for some reason the MoBo has the White LED as BOOT - indicates the booting device is not detected or fail, but when I go into BIOS I see the Samsung SSD... The SSD has a Windows 10 installed from a previous system, can that be the problem?
Hello, yes...good chance that is the problem. On this channel, I have an ungodly amount of motherboards, drives, graphics cards, cpus...etc and I am always swapping out components. There are times where I can easily swap a SSD from one to another and no problem. Other times, I have to make changes in Bios. Sometimes, I can't get it to work no matter what I do... Solution for me...try another drive or install a fresh copy of Windows. Most of the other things I would suggest are probably not issues since Samsung drives are pretty much compatible with every motherboard.

So firest of all, there is a secondary bios in case something goes wrong, current release cycles and their buggines forced manufactures to build in some safety. If you are on windows computer you don't need to smash delete key, just go to start, advanced startup options and select uefi and restart, it will boot you into the bios.
I'm thinking about buying the exact same motherboard with an intel core i7 10700kf, will I need to update the bios with this CPU or will the newest driver already be installed on the motherboard? and should I get corsair vengeance RGB pro 2x8 16gb of RAM at 3200mhz or should I go for 4x8 32gb at 3200mhz?

I'd say try it out in another computer, but probably not an option. That said here are things I would do: 1) Verify GPU is seated correctly, this motherboard has USB 3.0 header right in line with the GPU. 2) If you have used the HDD/SSD with another GPU, try disconnecting all drives, see if it will boot to BIOS with the GPU hooked up to your monitor via HDMI, Display port..etc If it does, you may have be having issues with existing drivers on your HDD/SSD. You may have reinstall windows with a fresh copy. 3) It sounds like you are able to see video plugged into motherboard only? 4) Ensure if you have 6 or 8 pin GPU power connectors that they are plugged in and seated correctly. 5) Are any lights on...on the GPU? Fans spinning. 6) Verify no cables or wires are hitting the fan blades on the GPU.

You may have to redo your drives...new windows install. I have had this issue before going from other NVME's to a new 10th gen motherboard. I had the most up to date bios.
MSI Z490 A-Pro / i5 10400/ 64GB RAM/ GTX 980Ti Stay away from MSI Z490 A-Pro. That motherboard is trash. I visited this channel because I attempted to update the BIOS because my PC kept shutting off and wont recognize my SATA HDDs. This problem started when I added an HDDs. Im not having a chance to update the BIOS. Im about to ditch my MSI board for an Asus ROG Strix. I have Asus ROG Strix (X99 and X299) in my other two systems and they have given me no problems.
Here is all I can suggest 1) Make sure downloaded file is unzipped. 2) try different thumb drive..formatting or size may be an issue. Make sure it is good brand. 3) use USB on IO portion of motherboard. 4) double check you downloaded z490 one. This mobo has been finicky with USB. I have gotten USB overvoltage warnings...either PSU or mobo.

hey, i am having an issue with my pc where I am getting very low frame rate. I build this pc in June and I am using this mobo, the i7 10700k and the 2070 super. I ran benchmarks for my cpu and gpu and they are both running fine seperately, but when i go to play a game (warzone for example) I noticed my gpu is only running at 300MHz and only running at 4%. My cpu on the other hand was at almost 100% usage. Almost all my games are unplayable and I am not sure what is going on here. This started about a week ago. there are no overheating issues either. Do you have any idea on a fix for this? I also updated my bios today, fixed it for a minute then it took a dump.
Are you OC'ing either GPU or CPU? What RAM do you have? Is it on their compatible list? Either way, set the speed of the RAM to either 2667 or 2933Mhz in BIOS. Try playing the game after that.
So I have a i510400 and I'm getting a i911900k tomorrow I will need to update the bios with the i5 installed or will it work with the i9? Cause I am trading the i5 for the i9 so I'm not going to have access
Hello, this can go either way. Since you have the I5-10400 in it...would recommend checking your BIOS version out...and heading over to the mfg website to see at what bios version that motherboard supported 11th gen. If it comes back you need to update the bios, it is best to update it with the 10th gen chip in there.
You would have to read the BIOS version and see if there is anything in there that looks promising related to the HW you have. Otherwise, hard to say, you might have HW compatibility issues or HW that has gone bad. Do you have any other SSD's or HDDs you could install windows on and see if you can recreate it with a different drive? I luckily have a lot of gear so my most common thing is to just start pulling out parts with a different one to find out what is causing the issue. Could be something as simple as your drive is corrupt or you changed something in the bios that is now causing issues and pulling out the CMOS battery will reset the bios back to default. If have been using your drive in other computers like I do for this channel....sometimes it comes back to haunt me. Maybe your OC'ing your RAM too high and it is not stable. Worse things.....could be motherboard is shot. Unfortunately, hard for me to diagnose without having hands on.
Exact same as me... with the z490-f. Noticed some ethernet issues (not recognised when plugged in until I apply a setting), my BIOS is dated from June 2020. Had any issues yourself? The issue is only upon a full shut down then a start up, resetting the pc the ethernet is still recognised. Even noticed my USB devices are slow to turn on (sometimes, not all the time)
@@calrus93 dude i actually just updated it. I would advise you to as well, they added alot... biggest is the resizeable bar for the new gpus intel 11th geb capabilities ,And some mem overclockin stuff

Sometimes..ethernet will work, but yes, most likely you need the LAN or Wi-Fi drivers. Assuming you don't have get on or portable CD ROM drive

Yes...or unplug your SSD or HDD and it will go straight there. I will be getting some faster RAM ..for now it is either 2666, 3000 or 3200 Mhz

Nevermind I found the problem, I changed it from UEFI settings to CSM, and it's working with no issues now.

All Z490 boards support memory over locking i.e. XMP or manual settings even on non"K" CPUs.

I Updated my new MSI MAG B460 MORTAR WIFI to the newest bios and now it just freezes when i try to enter it. What do i do???

The bios only cares that it can see a compatible file from your exact motherboard type. Nothing else should matter.

I have this board but button mashing delete isn't working. It takes me to the regular windows sign in.
Try f8 or f12, also you can only boot to bios with del if computer's off, or hold shift and click restart, then continue and mash those keys on reboot

See if your thumb drive is formatted to fat32
