@@benjaminfowler4513 because the circuit in the bandmaster/super/pro were the same Except for the resistor in place of the mids control and whether there was also a reverb circuit. Actually bought this amp about a month ago, new. Like Matthew stated, i also didn't feel like it was a 40 watts, which is fine for me. Liked it a lot, especially the portability of it. It however failed on the 2nd set of its first gig. One 6L6 completely toasted, as well as power transformers. Tone wise, it was very ok, for a way too short period. Fender warranty is ok so i returned it. Back order for about 3 months, so i settled for a 65 DRRI, which i'm also very pleased with. Now see if it'll hold up. Regardless of the quality of my pro, very nice and honest review Matthew, best of luck to you, great player!
Nice review! This looks like an amp I'd like a lot. I used to play a 2-12" Pro Reverb from the 70's. This lighter version with only what you need for that authentic 'Fender' sound is very appealing. Now subbed!
Matthew this is great! My vintage ‘68 Pro Reverb 2 x 12” is really special too, guys eyes widen and they go “Wow!” when the volume opens up around 5 to 7 and its tone blossoms. Usually too loud! 🤷🏼♂️

Hello Mathew...New sub here. I don't use effects pedals, and the first thing I noticed about your review is that you're not using any effects pedals with this amp during the first section of the video, yet, you were able to achieve great tone qualities...You definitely know how to milk the sweetness out of your guitars! I wouldn't hesitate to gig with this amp with nothing more than my guitar, one cord, and the amp. But don't get me wrong, the later section of the video when you were using over-drive sounded really good too!

That was awesome watching you rip at the end and sounded pretty killer to me....I couldn’t feel a vocal though so play from the heart to...I know it was a demo...but we know your good so prove it!!!!!!!!
Great review, like your playing and your honest pro's and con's of the Amp. Nice to see Fender working with you. Be nice to continue to see that and other companies step up too. Love your content, keep up the great videos. And Oh Ya, OMG I LOVE YOUR ONE OF A KIND LES PAUL. Those were awesome videos on it as well. Cheers from Canada
I think you could make any guitar or amp sound great. I would love to hear you play a low end amp and guitar as I feel you've got the tone in your hands. Sweet playing. That amp sounds pretty cool too.
Yes it does, I keep going back to my local guitar shop and playing a Les Paul traditional through one they have rn, it’s $1050 and I have 10% off….it’s tempting
I got one a few weeks ago. First new amp in years. Sounds fantastic. I like it better w my old celestial v30, but the stock speaker surprised me and sounded great w a band thru a big PA. Use an attenuator at home and you can get that 3-4 sweet tone. Well done Fender!
Solid state rectifier makes sense for an amp with that type of headroom vs size. Stiffening up the output is not a bad thing. Depends on what you are looking for. Thanks for posting matthew!
I bought a deluxe that was a bassman on one channel and a regular 22 watt deluxe on the other channel. It came stock with a 75 watt Celestion V type. It really added to the headroom
Sounds great. Fender tube tone is hard to beat.really hard. I'm going to play now just got a Deluxe Reverb that I really love. Thanks for the demo. The Gibson with the P90 sounded so good .
If the mods to that circuit are anything like the Deluxe Reverb in the same line, the difference in headroom is simply due to a higher value NFB resistor. The less negative feedback the more distorted and louder it will be. Any amp tech worth their salt can add a switch to toggle between 2 different values to give you more or less NFB. Some people may suggest a potentiometer, but there's a very limited range where that is effective and it's just another setting to fiddle with whereas the MORE or LESS option of a toggle switch is more useful IMO.
I was in Evanston Wyoming last week. There's a music shop on the main street. " I didn't get the name " They had a like new late 60s Fender Band Master for sale. For anyone interested. I was told they purchased it from a family member of the owner who recently passed.
Great playing and tone as always! Very nice sounding amp, nothing like a fender tube amp! Have you ever played through a fender blues deluxe reissue? If so, let me know what you think. Very nice warm vintage tone and handles pedals well IMO. Keep the great content coming ✌️
Hi Matthew, thanks for sharing another very fine video. You certainly packed a great deal of information into this one. Super great photography and superlative guitar playing. PEACE 🎸🤠
Hey Matthew great review, concerning the tube rattle I find that if I buy from quality vendors who tests there tubes you can get them quiet no matter how loud they get. Again great review and really like your channel....
Good playing and sweet amp! It's great to see Fender bring back a good version of this classic. Frankly, I've always thought the Pro-Reverb was one of the nicest amps Fender has ever made. I have an original 60's, blackface 2-12, which I absolutely love. Good job Fender!!
Apparently there are few fairly simple recommended things a qualified amp tech can do to improve these new Fender amps, besides possibly upgrading the speaker/s. The thing I hear emphasized the most is to have the capacitors replaced by a tech as soon as the Fender warranty expires.
I don’t know about the Pro Reverb but the Deluxe I had briefly had really disappointing reverb - I understand that there is a simple adjustment to make to the reverb tank that makes a big difference. It might work on the Pro Reverb too.
You should check out what George Alessandro does with the reissue fender amps, including this new Pro. He basically strips out all the stock components and converts them to hand-wired amps that are very reminiscent to how the old fenders sounded but much improved with better grade components. Also for these new pro’s he upgraded the power transformer to something beefier and better suited for the 6L6 tubes that come in the new Pro (the stock power transformer is actually undersized, and the ‘68 custom vibrolux also has this same issue, check out the Tedeschi Trucks Fireside Session streams to hear Derrick playing a newer vibrolux George had worked his magic on). And believe me, after the Hand-Wired service is done it night and day compared to how they sounded stock.
Check out psionic audio on youtube. He will show you what needs to be done. I got a pro jr 4 new and cooled the bias and replaced the filter caps immediately. It voids the warranty but what warranty? Have the put the same cheap garbage back in? Take any reissue amps to a good tech and it will last a long long time and sound better as well
I loved this amp when I demoed it recently. I like how simple the controls are (like a Princeton) but is 40 watts with more headroom. I had decided to save up for one, but ended up finding a used(mint) '68 Custom Vibrolux Reverb with 2x10" speakers at 35 Watts.
Matt, you sound good playing the LP but, geeze, you have the Strat-mojo in spades. Your sunburst Strat sounds incredible when you play it... Indeed, that old guitar understands what you want and it delivers! Great review of a cool new Fender. And, yes, I've never played a combo amp that didn't have some extra "tones". LOL, the nature of the beast! Take care and be well!

Another great video as always! Thank you for sharing! Congrats on the awesome opportunity too, here’s to many more! 🤘🏼
Thank you, Samantha.
Dude you made that thing scream!! That outtro!🙌🤯⚡️🎸📻
I posted a comment below. Great job I' liked the video and subscribed. I added a comment below! I have always appreciated great Tone and love Tube amps! I just can't physically carry around 60 pound amplifiers all over the place anymore. Again thank you for the Review. I will be watching more !
Thanks very much James.
Man that intro hit like a train !!! Amazing stuff as always 🔥🔥
Thanks for reviewing the new fender amp. You squeezed some incredible tones out of it. Looks like it is an incredible amp.
Just listening to you talk, the natural reverb in that room is fantastic!
Really love the channel. Perfect chilled vibes super sick playing and not gimmicky at all 👌
Sweeeeeeet!!!!!!!
The last jam I could feel you brother ...keep that coming...don’t be afraid to turn it loose...guitarist like you come once in a lifetime...don’t over think it let your fingers do the talking!!!!!!
Dang it! Every time I watch one of your videos it makes me pick up one of my Strats!
I think you could make any guitar or amp sound great. I would love to hear you play a low end amp and guitar as I feel you've got the tone in your hands. Sweet playing. That amp sounds pretty cool too.
I love mine. Thanks for getting me back on Fender amps
Damn that Les Paul sound really good with this amp
Yes it does, I keep going back to my local guitar shop and playing a Les Paul traditional through one they have rn, it’s $1050 and I have 10% off….it’s tempting
I got one a few weeks ago. First new amp in years. Sounds fantastic. I like it better w my old celestial v30, but the stock speaker surprised me and sounded great w a band thru a big PA. Use an attenuator at home and you can get that 3-4 sweet tone. Well done Fender!
You are my favorite youtube channelfor sure. Keep this amazing work up!
got one of these a month ago, glad to hear matthew's take on it, great as always
Yeah I playing one yesterday and had a huge smile on my face. Going to buy today.
The overall sound man! It was spot on! I actualy like the vibe of it. Like what ive expected to hear on a vintage stuff.👌🎶🎵
That last sample of tone left me speechless
If the mods to that circuit are anything like the Deluxe Reverb in the same line, the difference in headroom is simply due to a higher value NFB resistor. The less negative feedback the more distorted and louder it will be. Any amp tech worth their salt can add a switch to toggle between 2 different values to give you more or less NFB. Some people may suggest a potentiometer, but there's a very limited range where that is effective and it's just another setting to fiddle with whereas the MORE or LESS option of a toggle switch is more useful IMO.
Got mine for half the price, loving it, very nice clean sounds and pairs great with my pedals
I was in Evanston Wyoming last week. There's a music shop on the main street. " I didn't get the name " They had a like new late 60s Fender Band Master for sale. For anyone interested. I was told they purchased it from a family member of the owner who recently passed.
Whooo you knocked it out the park at the end there 🎸🎶🎶🕪🕪🖒🖒
Man, I think THIS is the one I've been waiting for! Nice bro
Fantastic intro, great demo and brilliant playing, as always, on phenomenal guitars.
Love it.
it's about time fender hit you up. LOL! great stuff, man!
Yeahh because we really want to watch Fender adds.
Thanks! I am happy to get my hands on a modern amp!
@@pcpersonalcensorship3105change your mindset; have you done that... now; take second to think how awesome it is. crazy, right? LOL!
@@christopher-miles Sorry, I thought my sarcasm would be more obvious.
@@blakegilliam8223 Ohh why ?
'Rattle and Hum' :) Great playing and demo Matthew. I love the tone.
PEACE 🎸🤠
I would love to see you do a review of one of the new Fender Tone Masters! Preferably the blonde twin reverb.
Glad your channel kinda leans more toward Fender products old and new. Great job.
Hey Matthew great review, concerning the tube rattle I find that if I buy from quality vendors who tests there tubes you can get them quiet no matter how loud they get. Again great review and really like your channel....
Thank for the info Martin!
The backdrop in this video in particular is just👌
Congratulations on your new Fender Amp, enjoy it. ❤🎸👏👍🔉
Good playing and sweet amp! It's great to see Fender bring back a good version of this classic. Frankly, I've always thought the Pro-Reverb was one of the nicest amps Fender has ever made. I have an original 60's, blackface 2-12, which I absolutely love. Good job Fender!!
Seems like a great design that's going to please a lot of people. Really came alive with the OD pedal too.
Its a damn shame about the caps for under $10 extra at build time Fender could have upgraded to say F&T's and half the complaints would disappear.
@@paulcargo4233 Yeah well, I agree, but accountants will be, including at FMIC. Sing along!
Take any reissue amps to a good tech and it will last a long long time and sound better as well
Is that intro " Ready for love"??
Beautiful mate.💯💯💓👍
Matthew, an honest video review without sucking up to the manufacturer! R E S P E C T!
Nice tones and playing, great review. Was this miced or did you use an Ox?
5 seconds in and the tone gods have smiled on this video.
Love the "thumb-over" on those big chords!
The New 68 Pro Reverb is the Fender Amp I'm intending to buy..great to see this review!
Unreal playing brother, a pleasure as always, thanks!
