I love this idea as a periodic series. Maybe future episodes could be something like "build a genre specific board" or "simulate a problem at a gig and make do as best you can board", etc. Keep up the good work, D&M!

One big plus of Lockdown is that I get to watch the show as it's released, rather than waiting until the weekend. Downside is of course that I then want more content immediately :) A great show, and an interesting insight into why certain guitars in my collection feel like "home" and others feel challenging and awkward. Dan You mentioned Burns, I have a double 6 in greenburst and it's my second home after my LP copy ('56 Goldtop by Epiphone with American designed P90s). Thanks for educating me and inspiring me to play more and do more with electric guitar :)

  • @Yupppi

The way you guys approach each other's rigs is interestingly different! Dan is attempting to find the best fit to what Mick uses normally (maybe since he's so used to providing that service in Gigrig), while Mick is trying to find something that Dan would like but out of his usual zone! Both very satisfying results.
Finally got my OCD today, thanks to you guys for another great tool in the kit! It's interesting how every time you change one setting or pickup, it feels like the response changes and you need to figure it out again. And feels like returning to the previous isn't the same anymore. It's very exciting. I now have 11 drives/boosters and craving for a couple more. And that's just he basic types like klon, ts, marshall in a box, treble booster etc etc. I think I had two before watching the show. And I regret none of them, they've improved my life and sounds and brought interesting understanding to gain and playing. Also 11 other basic effects, same can be said about them. Before the show I only had crybaby wah and SD-1. The nights in the mood have been amazing.

I would like to start a petition to get you guys to switch guitars more often!!! PLEASE! Dan’s playing on the Strat was absolutely inspiring, and Mick’s touch and sensitivity was magnified by the Tele! I’ve always thought that Mick sounded awesome on a Tele since the first time I heard it (probably for a brief second on the ultimate overdrives shootout) and Dan completely surprised me with how connected he played through the Strat. This episode, although fairly “gear” oriented really inspired me to go get lost in my playing and pedals! Love you guys!

As much as you can appreciate the thought that went into the selections, given both D&M’s abilities as players and tone sculptors, I wonder whether they could successfully get a great tone out of any four pedals? Maybe a future similar episode with a blindfolded selection of pedals and then dialling in a tone you would be happy to use? Would be be really useful to us tone hacks seeing how you go about this.

I find it interesting that Dan made the strat sound like a tele, but the tele sounded very much like a tele in Mick's hands.
