Not trying to tell you how to fish but the way I like to use a weightless fluke is letting it sink with 1 pop on the way down giving it that dying fish effect. You can even let it sit on the bottom for a bit if you want. Buoyant flukes are fun to ned but if it sinks I fish almost all my soft baits weightless. The slow fall itself is one of the best ways to get a strike.
Flukes is my main confidence bait peacock bass kills it in south Florida. The zman and gamblers is my go to the zman last a long time btw. Zoom Arkansas shiner great colorway as well.
Just a reminder to fish the fluke again this spring, the fluke jr will work on your heavier bfs setups too. Flukes are seriously a great way to catch the biggest shallow bad out there. It’s subtle and ultra realistic and YOU can give the bait the action you want. One of the best all time baits ever 👏
First tactical bassin has the best fluke rigging videos, and I highly recommend their nose hook setup. I also love fishing smaller flukes so the regular fluke or superfluke jr instead of the full super fluke. Another trick is everyone uses some form of white fluke but watermelon up shallow looks like a bluegill and gets crushed. I probably should not be giving all of this away but my favorite fluke is a 5" damiki armor shad in watermelon black with a size 1 owner mosquito hook on a medium spinning rod with 15lb braid to a 2 foot 10lb flouro leader attached with a swivel for a little extra weight. My hookup ratio is about 90% and hookup to land is probably 95%, plus with the nose hook the bait slides up the line during the fight so I usually get at least 5 fish per plastic. I love the fluke because you can fish it fast on top, moderate speed like you were or skip it around docks and trees, let it sink like a senko and then give it a couple twitches every 5 seconds or so.
I’m a northerner & have to finesse fish more often than not. I LOVE flukes! If I had to fish only one lure forever, for salt or fresh, it would definitely be a fluke.
Weightless soft jerkbait are one of my favourite go to technic especially on hot months, and you should try specifically the strike king caffeine shad 5' and deeps sakamata shad 5', those are money
Work on the boat or go fishing on my first Sat off in 6 months. That fluke fishing has me leaning toward the latter. Just hoping 10lb test flouro is good enough so I don't have to change my leader.
Great video. Only advice would be to give a bit more detail on how you are fishing it and why (pops, jerk, straight retrieve etc). Also I caught flouro but no weight. Also I think I heard 5/0 hook but it wasn’t super clear what you were fishing it on. Keep up the great work NERDS!
Great, all the zoom flukes will be empty on the shelves. Lol. Leave the eye of the hook exposed. Also don't bury the hook so deep. 8th of an inch. You can also tie on a barrel swivel about 15 inches up to avoid line twist.
You should get the googan dart. It’s phenomenal. I also like the zman finesse shadz and streakz. The finesse shadz is more of a finesse jerk bait but it works really well.
@@440-fishermandrock8 I like the googan baits. Yes they are hyped up but they make one of my favorite flukes on the market. Zoom flukes are just as good as far as colors and they have great durability.
I love down to basics, no commercialism, no branding, just fishing!🤙
🙌

So much fun using a spinning rod and a weightless fluke. Zoom White Ice and Bass Bass are my go to.

Welcome to the fluke club. The zoom salted flukes are the best. The baby bass works best for me
Flukes have always been a favorite of mine. I like to cast it and just let it go to the bottom, give it a couple twitchs and let it fall back down.
Can't wait for the new podcast! I miss the weekday live podcasts. Saturday's are for Debo, *********** will be for the Aggressively Average Anglers.
Perfect timing! I actually really wanted to go try the fluke out today n then it stormed all day.

Oh we for sure will! Thanks!
Looks like fun. I will have to give it a try.
Awesome video dude!! Great content as always
My favorite color fluke is silver flash! This color is money on bluegill lakes. Cool video man!🙌🎣

Awesome info thanks!
Great video! I like to make my own 4 inch flukes. Throw it out and let it fall. Pop it back and let it fall again. Works fantastic.
Jeff the Flukemaster Jr strikes!
Love the name of the podcast!
You should get the 6th sense flush. I think it’s better than the fluke.
Maybe I missed it, but what sort of rod/reel/line setup did you use? Nice to see you having success with something new to you 👊🏼.

ps I much prefer spinning gear for weightless flukes

5/0 hook, 10 lb fluoro, Twitching it moderately fast. Thanks!

Try leaving the eye of the hook expsoded it allows a little more act to the bait and it helps not tear the plastic so much
This!
I use flukes but with a 1/4 oz bullet weight
6:40 i thought someone was outside lol
Just got a pack of zman jerk shadz and think I may need to learn to fish them this fall
Nice!
Try a weightless screw lock hook. That will help preserve the nose.

Googan is trash 🗑
Zoom flukes are cheaper, better colors by far, and the best part they don't have that disgusting scent they use on goon baits

They both work just fine. Googans are more expensive and Zoom you pull a bait outta the bag and it's all bent up not straight
@@chrisedsell3103 exactly. If it wasn’t for the bent up flukes I would buy more of them.
There's a double fluke rig you might be interested in trying
Definitely
What reel were you using? It kinda looks like the hakai but I’m not sure
It’s the Hakai
That Hobie looks a lot different Jeff . Hope you get it fixed soon!
It’s back now thankfully
what rod were you using? thank you
Okuma psycho stick
Skip it into pockets then let it fall a couple seconds then a dying twitch or two.
Devastating on springtime bass.
Z-Man has some fluke style baits too...
The problem with them is that they are TOO buoyant
flukemaster it's in the name lol he can show ya different techniques
What is it that you have your soft plastic in?
? Not sure what you are looking at
@@aaanglers the small bag with looks like camo print
I tried it yesterday to find out quick that my flukes i bought are floating lol i had no weight with me 😅
bummer!
Lost count! Good day!!!
