Great review! First Contact has dated very well compared to other films from the 90s. It still looks fantastic nearly 30 (oh my god, Thirty?! 😢) years later.
Sovereign class Enterprise E is my favourite Trek ship, ever.
Alfre Woodard giving Patrick Stewart a run for his money (“you broke your little ships…”) still gives me shivers to this day.
11 year old me had nightmares about assimilation for weeks back in ‘96.
And the breathtaking battle of Sector 001 (“sir, there’s another starship coming in…”) is still the first thing I watch to test out a new TV.
Good God I love this film so much! Thanks for reminding me to watch it again. ❤

Nice to see you back. I hope life and such things are OK...
I love Cromwell's portrayal of Cochrane, but let's for a moment imagine that Tom Hanks wasn't just suggestion or whatever, and somebody offered the role to him, what he (his statement) would accepted.

Good to be back! I know Hanks is a big Trek fan and would've been great casting to get the film seen by more people, but I've never seen him in the role. I'm glad we ended up with Cromwell, he's awesome.

9:15 At least there is an episode in DS9 who mention Borgs are still an active problem.

Long time no see. Welcome back.
First Contact was the first Trek film I saw at the cinema. An 11 year old me went to see by myself it at the independent cinema in Clacton while we were visiting some family.

Good to be back! A very high bar as the first Trek movie. Mine was Nemesis. It should've been Generations, but that's a story for another time...

@@treklad went to see Nemisis by myself at the cinema too, during a free period at 6th form.
Hmmm seems to be a pattern here. 🤔
