Bump this one so Jimmy can see, Those Cams are GSC cams, they mark theirs with the yellow and blue/green, very reputable and OG brand in the Supra world.
Most if not all cam manufacturers mark with colors. The only way to know what they are for sure is checking the front and rear for engravings and pn's.
The smaller turbo setup isn't necessarily any safer than 1000hp. The reason he would go with the smaller turbo is for a smoother power band with power coming on earlier resulting in a better drive quality. Making 1000hp is cool and i agree that he should go for it here. But the reason for a smaller turbo isn't because it's safer it can actually be more dangerous because you make a lot of boost early in the rpm
@@tombowman3058 yea I agree, one of the most exciting parts about a supra is watching them do high way pulls and the other guy thinks he's winning then the supra hits boost and comes screaming out of no where 😂
Question of out pure idiocy: could a twin turbo help the low end? Like actually having staggered size turbos, one smaller one to help the low end and then a big one for mid-high end of the power band? Or am I talking absolute rubbish? Just curious ...
@@itsfqndave No you're right! It's just not as easy to tune, maintenance them and to make big power with them and it'll cost a lot more money to do this..
@@brendanedwards1416 for the r154 in australia? or the v160? For the r154, just type r154 in ebay and they'll all pop up. Seems they're around 3200 new now. You should be able to grab part number off one of the ebay listings and try places like Amayama (i've bought new genuine aw11 mr2 and jzx81/90 parts from them).
Would love to see the first 4 digit build from Jimmy to be the legendary supra. You know the chassis can handle it so you won't make it undriveable at 1000hp 👍
If your building the bottom end. I’d build the head with up to date parts as well. That way you can rev it to the moon and have a bigger power band if your going with a 1k hp big turbo setup
Duuuudeee the speed at which you put out this video is craaazyyyy maaannn I was literally at the edge of my seat waiting for you to talk about all the specs from the last video lol
my buddy made 900 for 10 years running mid 9s full interior, stock block. best transmission in Springfield mass, Shawn Cassidy can help you if you ever need it. he had the only supra on pinks, we won and he gave the guy his chevy back. the coolest dude ever.
@13:19, take a 2" wide METAL putty knife and sharper forward and side faces (double edge- point in the middle, prevents gouging metals) use this with a dead blow mallet to chissel youre way around the pan mating surface slicing throught the rtv, ect. makes life wayyyyyy easier then a flat head screwdriver. PRO TIP...
the head work, the exhaust manifold, the turbo size, the exhaust size the intake size and the injector size were all perfect for this build. it allowed max flow of air in and combustion gasses out, which keeps the engine cool and not overheating. THAT is why there is no detonation and it lasted so long!! most engines are not built for proper flow, which causes excessive heat retention, and heat is the mother of all pre-detonation issues.... HEAT and lack of proper flow through is the enemy of horsepupies
For those stamped steel rtv pans, grab a 5 in1 paint scrapers with the strikable end and use that to get it off. Slide it in there and use a hammer to tap it around, the low profile is much better than a screwdriver
PTE 6875 Gen 2 divided .81A/R with quick spool valve and a FSR ported cast mani. Get high comp pistons. 10.5:1. Full boost by 4K and make 1000WHP. Tune it on Ignite 114 E85 with flex fuel sensor. Done. Driveability and decent power and reliability.
I’m definitely more of a fan of a daily drivable 600hp that you can actually use. 1000hp will still be fun for the building aspect though, and watching the motor be built.
Man, i love watching jimmy so much more than adam lz. Dont get me wrong both are great creators except jimmy just has this humble vibe and he talks about what hes doing and experiences hes had, Its just such a nicer guy to watch
Nice to see the engines in good shape and to hear the bottom is going to get built. I have to say brian kills it with getting shit done! Also did I miss the episode where meisters got put on the 33?
There was no video about it, I don't even think he acknowledged it on camera. He put it on his Instagram story a few times, but I'm assuming he didn't bother with a video since he got a little bit of shit for posting like 3 "new wheels" videos in recent times.
Im so excited ab this build, simple wiseco/eagle set up and you already have a built head so just g42-1200 and a big fueling system and ur making some fuckin JAM
A lot of people have different ideas, but i like to shim my rockers with stock pushrods so that I have 0 preload, so you can just turn the pushrods with the rockers tightened down, no risk of lifters pumping up at high rpm that way.
This channel is so underrated he should be already at 1 million give this man his flowers respect he even has his mother drifting and he slides everything he built literally if you know 🧠you know 🧠😆🗣🤣right Anthony a.k.a. Get a long snap off razor blade and tap it lightly under the rtv then just yank it across and itll cut the rtv off, its like the easiest way to get a stamped pan off without having to hammer it back later on.
My Brian crower cams have the stamping on the very end. This non vvt motor should hold quite a bit of power on stock rotating assembly. With stock vvt rods mine let loose at 680whp
Ohhhh shhhh...he did it. He's building it lol! Judging by all the carbon buildup I think whoever did the tune initially had enough fuel to keep this motor alive. Glad it was a text book teardown. I would agree with you on the GT series smaller turbo build, but B Hall does have a point. You already have 2j's that do that. Might as well make this a period correct 1000 hp build...
I love that your rebuilding it haha just a good thing with how much just the engine is worth now adays. I know its gonna be expensive but worth it to get 1000hp and not have to go through another motor before u do and were sad because of having to do a second rebuild when u could have done it the first time!!! Just so awesome 👌 😎
