In addition to being an outstanding teacher throughout the entire process of picking the rock up until the end product, you out did yourself with the marching turtles. Brought a big smile to my face. Thanks for putting all this together.
Those are really cute, nice work. It makes me see how much work goes into rock projects....I will have new respect for the artists I see at craft shows. Thanks for another interesting video.
Really liked the animation at the end. Pretty Cool. You're an amazing teacher of rocks. I've watched every one of your videos. My son, (10yrs old) have been out rock hunting for the last couple of years. It's something that I personally just started. I've never been interested in it until now. And only because my son is really interested in fossil's. He wants to be a paleontologist. Lol. So thank you for taking time to put these videos up and educate us. It's greatly appreciated.
Those are really cute. When I first saw the picture of the turtles, I thought it was just a Petoskey stone with green feet glued on. But it much more than that. Really gives them literal depth and character! Good job
@@karinflowers9244 I was worried about Rob cutting himself, too, but in another video he shows us this particular saw won’t cut flesh when properly used. I find it all so fascinating!
The little stone turtles are so adorable! :3 Especially the end little animation just made it even cuter. If I saw someone selling them anywhere I would buy then in a heartbeat. Keep up the good work, it's always a joy to watch one of your videos!
I sell them here in town sometimes. The shop that they're sold at told me they were the second best selling item they've ever carried. They posted the first ones on Facebook and then sold out of something like seven of them in a couple hours. He wanted twenty more after that and those sold well too.
@@MichiganRocks Oh wow, that's super cool. By chance dose the facebook still sell them or was it a one time limited offer? Because if they are still up for sale I would be more than happy to buy one! 🙂 I would just need to get the name of the facebook account. 😅

Love the little Turtles 🐢. I collect Turtles every time I go somewhere and find a different one. I'm from South Mississippi about 60 miles from the coast. I love to watch your beach combing videos....I feel like I'm hunting on Lake Michigan with you. I lived in Michigan between my 5th and 7th grade years in school. We lived 2 years in Pentwater close enough to walk to the beach on Lake Michigan. We lived 2 years in Ishpeming and I remember us going hunting for Petoskey stone while we lived there. I haven't been back there since we moved back to Louisiana and Mississippi....I would love to be walking those beaches with you. So many beautiful stones on the beaches that I would love to add to my collection 😍
I'll bet the Petoskey Stone hunts were from Pentwater. Ishpeming has Jasper Knob, which is one of the coolest places I've been. Jasper Knob video: ruclips.net/video/CW6MotWnCc0/видео.html
I'm not sure where we were hunting Petoskey stones exactly 🤔 I was just a kid so I mostly just remembered doing it and not much about the location. I enjoyed the video about the Jasper Knob in Ishpeming thanks for sharing 👍 it was awesome.
Jason Patterson it’s hard to do at first. I use various rocks for the bottom. Epidote is my favorite because it is a nice color and tumbles nicely. I think this one was epidote, but it’s a little different than most epidote.
Loved it ! Having creativity , besides finding the rocks, polishing the rocks, etc. very few people can do all of that ! Well, speaking for myself! I just love those little turtles! Great Job ! 👍😊
Do you ever make any larger turtles? I think it would be a great paperweight. We have many fond memories of Michigan and petoskey stones so it would be a great gift idea for my family.
I have not made any larger ones. My Lot-O tumbler only has an opening that is 2.25 inches across, so I wouldn't be able to tumble a really big one. I could make one a bit bigger though, I just haven't done so.
Great job Rob! Wish I had a polisher / grinder machine like that. Those turtles you could make with all kinds of rock. I have been encouraged by your cross video and have some at the 2nd stage in my Lot - O now. Keep the videos coming.
I have lots of green rocks in my videos. There is unakite in several videos and I pick up quite a few other green rocks on Lake Superior. Of course it's not the only color that I pick up, but I do seem to be drawn to green rocks.
Hello, I'm Kimpd from Korea. You make beautiful turtles by processing rocks from the sea. It's so pretty and cute. Thank you for the good video. Good luck
Epidote and Petoskey make great turtles 🐢. Very good work. I aways wondered how you get them to stick together. 🤔 Roughing the connection point works. I want to make a lazysusan layered with rocks. I am worried the weight could be a problem.
That was a very enlightening video. Awesome idea making the turtle in two pieces. My daughter was trying to make one using individual feet and I don’t that’s going to work too well. I just drilled my first holes tonight, trying to make some pendants. It’s a slow process. Thanks for your videos. I have learned a lot from you !!!
I loved the marching turtles. You did a really great job on making the turtles and the video. I think you could make some decent money off these turtles. It seem like every one wants one including me. But I rather you make videos. Cant wait to see what you come up with next.
How can we get some of this things you make? I'm new to your channel and I don't know if you have a web site/ etsy etc. Please let me know I so want some of these adorable turtles or some of that beautiful Agate.
I don't sell anything online. The only thing I'm currently selling are guitar picks and crosses at a local shop. My goal with this channel was to show people how to make these things themselves. I do realize that it takes a lot of equipment though. I started with a tumbler and added to my equipment over several years. Most of my tool are used. The tumblers I bought new.
Love your little moving army of stone turtles at the end. Cool!
How cute! Of course petosky stones look just like a turtle shell!
DELIGHTFUL !! TURTLES !! me wants !!

Gee, thanks!
Now those are really cute. Glad to see you’re putting these long dark hours to good use.
Those are too cute and turtles and stones are cool by themselves but to add them together very cool.😁
I have to make some more of these some day. I've been busy making other things and haven't made any in a couple years. I really like these too.
Really cute in the end. Beautifully done.
