- Stuck in Newlyn Harbour doing boat repairs in preparation for our passage around Lands End. The head is broken and the main sail reefing lines aren't working right. At least it's beautiful here!
We are Andy, Melissa and Jack, a sailing family based in North Wales, looking for a bluewater sailing yacht to take us around the world.
We have recently gone from a very small 24ft Snapdragon Sailing yacht based in Caernarfon to a 28ft Great Dane GD28, but there are even bigger boats on the horizon to take us on to new horizons and our plan to sail around the world.

Cheers guys!
In Devon and Cornwall waters :)
Looks great
Oohh - what have you got up your sleeve there?? keeping us on tenterhooks ;-)
The fishing boat is just fitted with a mizzen for stability and, maybe, drifting. Ketch = two masts, mizzen forward of the rudder post. Yawl = two masts, mizzen aft of the ruder post. Both have a the mainmast taller than the mizzen.
The rowing boats are racing gigs, very popular in cornwall, especially the Isles of Scilly.
Thank :) didn’t know that. And yes we’ve got some very exciting stuff coming up! 😜
Thanks for a great video. Very entertaining!
Charlie Adams thank you 🙏
Love your channel! Keep on keepin on guys, from Texas! (mast stepped aft of the rudder = yawl)
Thanks Todd! Great to have supporters over in the U.S.A!
She's a Severn Class lifeboat the biggest of the RNLI All Weather Lifeboats.
Dave Barrett I should have known that. Tim actually told me that afterwards, he’s a bit of a lifeboat geek, apparently that’s the one with the jet drive units isn’t it?
She’s shaft driven.. The latest class of lifeboat the Shannon class is jet driven
Nice pasties in Newlyn. A lovely place to stop and be. Was there in July.
Yeah definitely. It’s gorgeous and the fish and chips ain’t half bad either. We had Chinese one night and fish and chips the next! Yum yum
Everybody loves a good toilet cleaning episode!
Hahah yes indeed!! 😂😂😂
Such a great film bud, you have done my home port proud. I remember saying hello at one point, I have my yacht just a few fingers along the pontoon where you where tied up, the Moody 30, I do wander around saying hello. Little Maid Mel belongs to a friend called Tim, he also has a punt at Sennen and depending on the weather chooses where he fishes, great bloke, does pots during the summer, I went out on her during the summer. Of all the boats you choose that little one, awesome. The sails aft on those boats are not for propulsion, they are to keep em straight when handlining I am told. The row boats are local Gig clubs, they keep the boats here so they can train easy, their big race is over Scilly every year. The Ivan Ellen is a Severn class, she is prop driven and a proper beast, I have the privilege of being crew on her, stay safe.
If you ever back this way kettle be on :)
Wow! That’s a great reply thank you! Hey remember to share the channel with all your mates in Newlyn :) and do stay in touch. We’ll be coming back soon on our way down to the Mediterranean
Ooohhhh! That sounds exciting!
When you asked in your vlogg what kind of boats they was they are called gigs there is a national gig racing championship that takes place in the isles of scilly every year I also have a RUclips channel its called Reuben's Adventures where I visit canal festivals and go walking on the towpath and there is a couple of narrowboat cruises on my friends narrowboat take a look and maybe a subscribe it will be much appreciated
Nicely fixed again
Wonderful! Don´t dream your life - live your dream ! ! !
