The selection of a venue with practically no wind on most days is destroying America's Cup and certainly the joy of the viewers. I am getting fed up with tuning in only to find that they are struggling to reach 7 knots and have races where foiling yachts float with about the same maneuverability as bathtubs. Luna Rossa prepared not far away in Catania with loads of wind, so it is hardly as if the Mediterranean Ocean cannot sustain races. However, Costa Brava is the wrong site. Zillions of dollars for nothing.
This is the first time in the History of the Americas Cup where the Racing is not on the Defenders Waters, these races should be on the Waitemata Harbour in Auckland.

@@thehighlander959 The Ineos team's performance improved significantly...but has little, as they say, we'll see. There are still many races before the end.
Foilers are very compromised in any place, all over the world, they need fresh winds and short waves, and that is not assured in any venue. Also, conditions are the same for both racers. Sail GP and youth ACs are more fun to watch than these, because except for the finals, 6 or 8 sailboats race together, they're more manoeuvrable, and require less time (and windforce) to take off foiling. Conditions day 2 of this LV final were glorious, and this last race was a lot fun, and it's sad that brits could not score. I am not brit nor italian, but italian complaints are infinite, not nice to read.
Very unimpressive tactics from the brits right from that terrible rounding on the first windward mark in not going back to where they came and losing the lead.
Not sure this venue was wisely chosen when boats that are so specialized for foiling can't race at all a third of the time. Maybe they should allow paddling when the foils don't work. :p
