To be honest performance isn't that big of a concern for me, I already have 18v tools if i really need oomph. The biggest sell factor for me is size, i want one of if these for an in home grab bag of common tools. To that end small is king, and I'd pay a premium for it. Is the brushless significantly smaller?
@@chivas5977 Yes I believe many Lowe’s just did another way of discounts on Bosch 12v. Many good deals out there as this line is being phased out at Lowe’s.
The performance is almost negligible; maybe 5-10% if that. You could do structural screws but nobody in real life would be doing torture tests like that on these 12vs. You’d be better off taking the money you saved buying brushed and getting a beefier battery. I own the brushless chameleon and impact wrench btw.
Good video.... Thanks from Georgia
My guess is that you'd need more demanding tests to reveal any performance difference between brushed and brushless.

@@DavidLee-cw6ci No the brushless is about the same size. Unless the brushless is marginally more expensive brushed is probably fine for most people.
Thanks for this.
Good comparison! I believe you got the chargers mixed up though.. ;)
Yes, try out the mini angle grinder, lovely little tool!
Nice real world video.
But for the sameish money, Bosch brushless/Dewalt /Ryobi drill-driver kit?
Well Ryobi will be much bigger since their 18v, Dewalt 12v has a brushless set for about $200 usually with a free tool which is also a good option.
would you say the ps42 is more or less noisy than the ps41? i have the older ps41 and like how relatively silent it is.

Brushless has battery life per charge.
