Just installed plm v2 headers on my 8th gen. Didnt lower the subrame but was definitely a pain in the dick. Need to stick the manifold through with headers upside down and twist them to get it through. My 2 hour heat wrap job got all fucked up but I was able to fix it. Old catlass ebay headers flex pipe was pissing exhaust like crazy. No flex pipe definitely makes the muffler buck a little at idle. Bank 2 02 sensor I had to almost melt with oxy acetylene to get out of old headers. Only bolts I just cut wkth a grinder. Did it all myself on an oil change lift in about 3 hours plus the head wrap time.
Balls deep in doing my header rn, the 3 nuts holding the cat to the rest of the exhaust are all rusted and seized up. Gonna see if I can grind them down and punch them through although I can see the top one being an issue as it’s so close to the heat sheild
Try mixing ATF with PB Blaster, and spray that on the nut/bolt and let it soak, then try again. I think it’s a 50/50 mix. It’s supposed to work really well I’m told

I was thinking about putting a header on my wifes 8th gen. It looked intimidating. I guess its not so bad. Cool
It’s really not so bad. On your back would be a tight squeeze but not the worst
@@ChrisSadowski I have a full 4 post lift. The 8th gen oem exhaust look so restrictive.
Your vid actually helped thxs didn’t haft to drop the subframe..

Pull the heat shield off if possible. Next guess would be to use an air hammer and try to chisel it out that way. Or torch the crap out of it
What would you recommend if my last manifold bolt is siezed? I have tried heat hammer and impact wrench

hey man! the bolts connecting my cat to the exhaust are destroyed lol. what size would you recommend getting to replace em
You can go to the parts store and get OE style replacements if it’s a spring bolt. Otherwise just go to ACE and buy some hardware
