I have 4c hair. I love this product. It works best if you use the LOC method and a twist out. I feel it locks in moisture. Use an damp hair. Followed by a light oil then add the curl la la and twist. I normally let it air dry. If you want to use a dryer I would suggest using a diffuser or hooded dryer. Air drying gives the best results.
I have 4b hair and I have been using this product since it came out. I used it for my twist outs and have no problem. When My hair was shorter I would use it to define my curl pattern, I never had to twist my hair to get it to curl, I applied it to wet hair and bounced as I don’t use heat in my hair.
I love this product. I use this product in my hair wet from the shower, air dry and have great curl definition. Everyone’s hair is different though so each person has to find what works best for them.
I know I’m a year late with my comment. But I honestly think this is one of the best products from aunt Jackies I started using when I started my natural hair journey when my wasn’t even in its best state. Where I think you might have gone wrong is when you dried your hair with the dryer. I think you should’ve left your hair to air dry. But this products works perfectly when you do twist outs and braid outs.
You're so right about letting it dry naturally. I also believe it has to do with your hair texture and porisity. I have type 4 hair and my hair loves loves loves aunt Jackie's curl la la. But I also air dry my hair so that it won't dry out with a blow dryer.
I agree. And she added that mouse before hand . I don’t think that works well . There’s a science to Mixing products .. and that wasn’t smart for the first time
I've been using curl la la for more than a year on my natural hair journey. I have 3b 3c hair, and aunt jackies Curl lala is the best product I have come across so far. It smells great, has a silky texture and it definitely defines my curls without weighing it down. It doesn't cause flakes at all and when combined with the oil, gel and shampoo makes for a great hair care routine.
I've gotten definition and a soft texture, especially on the second and third day. I go in with e blast oil to add a bit of Lustre. But my curls are always gorgeous. I noticed I can shake them loose after the first night cuz they're not stiff or white. It's a good haircare line. I heard and seen some great results with Shea moistures hair mask too, so I'm gonna give that a try for a pamper sesh.
I'm type 4a/ b I have thick hair and when I say this the only product that moisturize and soften my hair. with just a little tear shed it's amazing 👏🏽 ✨ I remember when i first got it I never used it thought it was pointless didn't want to waste jt was not disappointed.
I tried this product yesterday. I must say my curls are popping! My hair is still curly and moisturized. I have naturally curly hair with a good soft texture. I always used Cantu shea butter and avocado 🥑. This product is my new go to wash and go product. I did have to put a lot more in than Cantu, but I'm hooked now!
I’ve used this a few times and disliked it, but it was cheap. This time around I clarified my hair then used the Olaplex system. I twisted it and left it for a week. Then wet it and untwisted my hair with Curl La La. I absolutely love my hair🥰
Whenever I use anything Aunt jackie's, I let air dry OR have to use a diffuser. you should try and use a diffuser attachment whenever you blow-dry curly hair because a reg blow dryer can surely give FRIZZ. it may not be the product by itself, but also partly technique. the curl la la is great for braid outs and twists outs too though. maybe try that way :)
I also think especially if you blow dry with hot air, that it may mess with the results as opposed to air drying (idk whats a diffuser 🥴) which lets it set in its curls
Okay, this is what I needed to know. I really like the definition, but the flakes are out of control. I’ll try without the flaxseed gel. Thank you, and wish me luck 😩🍀
My hair is 3b/3c (thick hair diameter, high density, coarse texture) and this product works great on my hair. Also gives me super shiny braid outs without feeling heavy. Sorry it didn’t work for you.
The Curl la la doesn't work well on my 4c hair but all of the other products in the Aunt Jackie's line does wonders for my hair...especially the Don't Shrink.
I used aunt Jackies products for the first time , shampoo, condiiner, detangler and curl whip , and it’s amazing 🤩 everyone has different hair textures and this product doesn’t work well especially if you haven’t used the right kind of product for your type of hair and shampoo to styling product . You can’t used other products and use one aunt jackies product and expect it to work .. just saying
I’m an AshkenaziJewish woman with naturally curly hair (3A ) that has become frizzier with age & graying. I often buy products for black hair as they work better for my texture. I LOVE this product. It has really helped with the frizz. But it works best if I blow dry rather than air dry ( which is my preference).
I've use this products three times and I'm mix Indian and maroon so yea I have curly hair...but the thing with this product is that ...it works well when just start curling or defining the curls in your hair. After which your hair does becomes dry...the moisture is gone from it...letting my hair feel stiff... my curls no longer moist or even relax ...the best thing about the product is the smell and the jar..probably she needs to see what is lacking in the product that doesn't leave hairs so dry and stifff....every body have a different hair texture and all but... maybe I just need to stick with Cantu... tbh
You definitely can If it’s the Aunt Jackie ice coil grape-seed jelly! I have mixed texture hair but mainly 4b-4c Other than that, I don’t know about the others.
Bought 1 for my daughter yesterday I don’t even know her hair type 😅 I bought it just to soften her hair cause it’s so thick but will see if it defines her curls
Hi, I use this product for my braid outs and it works quite well. My hair usually feels hydrated with a little bit of frizz but for me that's normal. You could try the aunt Jackie's coconut curling gelée for defined curls. I would also recommend air drying or using a hooded dryer for better results.
I have much longer hair and I do not want to have any white residue from the product when it dries (at the same time, I want perfectly defined curls). What do you recommend? Also, what should I use for the dryness?
@@jeanellekerr1207 HI, I would recommend that you leave your braid outs /twists in for 2 to 3 days. , I've done that twice and my hair was completely dry with no residue, my curls were defined and hydrated too. That's with the aunt Jackie's curl la la. For better definition try the aunt Jackie's coconut curling gelée.
This product is not for 4c hair textures… this product smells good and feels good when putting in hair… it’s also NOT sticky or hard….my curls did go away after using the product though🤷🏿♀️
I brought this product a couple of weeks ago, 4 items in the product line. Needless to say, I returned it after noticing a few things: one my hair was dry and had residue, it did not last but a couple of days and curls were not defined. The big kicker was everytime I ran my hand through my hair I would have a lot of breakage. I would not recommend this product to anyone.
Thank you for this video 🙌🏾…..your curls looked amazing before you used the hair dryer. Maybe dry air drying as I used to use the hair dryer and it caused a lot of frizz.
I stopped using it because it draws up in my hair like little white specs almost looking like dandruff.. It is a good product but I just Don t like the little white specs in my hair

Her hair is NATURALLY curly too. It was just dry at the beginning of the video. My hair is 4a coils when it’s wet with conditioner in it. If I just let it dry and put nothing else in it, it would look just like hers did at the beginning of the video; dry and nappy. Coils/curls in afro textured hair don’t show when the hair isn’t wet or moisturized, since our hair’s natural oils can’t reach the ends of the strand.
