It's the no flaking that made me come watch this 😭
I still use this gel and I love it, it’s been over a year now. I’ll review the other variants I’ve used and my new techniques ☀️

This gel will make life so much easier. Try the plastic bag method as well😇

It really works and makes life so much easier for me especially because I hardly do protective styling, I mostly wear my hair out so this gel makes it all possible 😇
You're such a vibe!
Thank you 😊
Friend, I'm here for the hair growth...whaaa😍
Says Rapunzel herself 😅 this hair has been the same length for years babe and it’s okay 😇
Thank you! I’m watching your videos as I’m about to try your way.
How did it go? I’m still loving the gel.
@@chatwithtisa super bad 😭😭😭
What happened? My works each time ☹️ yes I walk out the house with damp hair that has some residue if I’m in a hurry but it dries up.
Did you use too much? And remember water is key.
@@chatwithtisa I think I didn’t have enough patient and my hair looked so short
how did you achieve the pigtails hairstyle at the intro , tutorial please ?
you look so beautiful 🥺
your hair is so beautiful
Thank you 😊
I've done similar technique before with leave in conditioner. You definitely don't have to leave the conditioner in overnight.
Just a plastic cap over it for 10-30min before you style is fine.
Also, not everyone needs to oil their scalp. Naturals with oily scalp like me can actually have scalp issues worsened like that.
I have actually come to realize that my hair doesn’t need that much oil, I oil it once every 3/4 weeks and it’s fine. I agree the leave in conditioner doesn’t have to stay over night, but do that when I’m tired from washing and it’s already late 🙈😅 I’m still loving this gel, it’s made my life so easy 💯
@@chatwithtisa that's fair. I'd do it as hot oil treatment maybe. Though of course, at that point I'm rinsing it out. Lol
Honestly, i think the only people who need to oil their scalp often are those with eczema or something.
I haven't tried this gel yet though I bought it. I heard people get just as much, if not more out of it when they use it alone. Will try next wash day.
There is a huge noticeable difference when I leave my conditioner in for 30 minutes and when I leave it in for the whole night. My hair is way better when I leave it in overnight.
I love your videos
The video I've been waiting for 🥰 I still have the gel 😄 I'll try it this way and see how it goes. I know you're not a fan of heat but please consider recording your wash and go using a blow dryer for more volume? I know it will be on low heat 😄
I love the way you do your makeup ❤️
Marry why are you encouraging me to use heat 🙈 I haven’t used heat on my hair in years and I think that what adds to its strength. Use the hairdryer and tell us how it goes😅 I still need some makeup lessons RUclips tutorials need too many products so I just do trial and error with what I’ve got 😁
@@chatwithtisa ❤️
Your hair is Beautiful.😍
Thank you Anele ☺️
I use the don’t shrink flaxseed elongating gel and ice curls
How’s the ice curls? How is it different to the ‘Don’t Shrink’ I’m not sure if I should try it.
I usually do that..sleep with leave in conditioner over night then style my hair the next day
It helps to absorb it better right? Then in the morning I do the rest of the process, oils, gel etc.
Your hair😍🔥🇿🇦❤
Awww 🥰 thank you ❤️
I usually detangle at my conditioner stage and then when I go to style it is still detangled(type 4, fine, low density). Do you think that may cut down on time? I bought this gel this week so excited to try this method.
This week I applied the gel in a very lazy way, I detangled after application not while applying it, well I didn’t detangle much at all, it cut down on time a lot and I’ll be spraying hair with water and detangling and doing twist.
I love it, but when I use it, my Blood pressure gets high. Maybe something in it that does not go well with me.
But I love it
Hey sis✨ off topic but can I please ask what camera/phone you use for your videos? I love the quality ❤️
I use an iPhone 11 😊 just 11 not pro or max, I usually record with my front camera.
For how long will your hair stay curly?
LOCG liquid (from freshly washed hair), leave in conditioner, penetrating oil to base your scalp, gel through praying handing
I love this routine ✨ how do you spray the gel? And doesn’t the cream and gel combined cause flaking?
Omg I love your hair❤❤
I just want to know though, do you have to wash your hair after using the gel?
Thank you 😊 I usually keep the gel in my hair for weeks and even a month without washing my hair again but to avoid flaking I spray water and apply a bit of oil at least every 2/3day, sometimes if I need to style it in the front I’ll add little more gel and set it with a duku.
I love your accent
Thank you ☺️😊
I’ve never understood gels I thought it’s only for edges and must be washed the next day. But wow I’m going to try your tips thanks Tisa.
Me too 🙃
You will love this gel, just try it 😊
I've also had this gel since forever 😅🤦🏾♀️... My only worry with just using the leave in Conditioner, oil and gel for moisture is that my hair would just get extremely dry after like day 2.
I've also got low porosity hair and doing the LCO once a week is the only way I can retain moisture for like a week and a bit.
I'll give it a try though. Hopefully this method works out for my hair as well.
We have similar hair issues, I realised after doing this the second time that it’s actually not a good idea to do it consecutively without doing some form of moisture treatment. Sleeping with a plastic bag on helps my hair a lot with moisture retention, I hardly have to remoisturize after the moisturising I do on a wash day because of the plastics ability to keep it all in. I think a good variation would be LCO once a month and Gel for the other half of the month with the plastic magic ✨
@@chatwithtisa yeah I agree, I think a balance of the 2 would work best. Thanks for the tip 🤗
I’ve been struggling with my hair for a while. It’s healthy but I have to constantly cut it because some of my curls are loose and it makes me have a weird shape (the back and sides are 3c, the front left part is 4a and the rest is 4b) and also I get single strands a lot. I noticed that my hair loves water but it also likes to be tucked away (this reduces my knots significantly). However, it’s hard for me to find a routine that works to keep my hair moisturised and knot free at the same time. Also, I get bored with my hair easily. I tried twists but after two days, I was ready to take them out. Gonna try this method for the upcoming week and see how my hair responds to it.
Do u wet your hair at nights before putting on the plastic bag? What is the state of your hair before you put on the bag nightly?
Thanks so much for this video!💕
Hi Whitney 😇
Figuring out our hair is a process that we have to embrace and be patient with, my hair has frustrated me to points where I had even started just cutting the knots instead of detangling🙃 but I have become more patient, every time I look at myself in the mirror when I wear my hair out, I just admire how gorgeous it looks and makes me feel, so that’s my motivation to remain patient. My routine keeps changing every year and a half or so. I don’t spray water before wearing the bag at night to avoid fungus, I only spray water when I’m restyling in the morning and apply some oils.
Love your unique hair, you look beautiful in it 💕
⁰⁰
Aybo bazalwane the curl 🥰🔥🥺
If your hair is soaking wet it works better
Try it in the shower after your gel is on and worked wet it more and shake to the left and right wala
Anthony Dickey way
Exactly 😊😁
heyyy love this gel. i’ve been using it for a while but i noticed it’s a different color? idk if i’m tripping but i thought it was clear and the recent one i just bought is like, a slight yellow color lol
I noticed the same a few months ago and I thought maybe it’s because it had been on the shelve for a while that’s what happens, or maybe some oxygen got in I don’t know but when I got the next one it also wasn’t clear so I just used it and it seemed to be fine, maybe we should inquire about this with customer care.
@@chatwithtisa yes definitely!! i’m glad it seemed fine for you! i haven’t tried the one i bought yet so we’ll see lol. thank u so much for the response by the way!
Beautiful ❤️🥰
Thank you Monicah 😊
Is the leave in conditioner from auntie jackie's a must in order for the gel to work properly
Still using them both, haven’t changed that order, I just add oil before the gel though, the aunt Jackie’s oils are amazing ☀️ Thank you for your comments Thandi, all the best with your hair.
Look real good
Thank you Bree ☀️
i’ve been using this for months and i love it! however, i’m a little scared. is it safe for me to use every week (wash and go) even though it contains protein?
I’m so glad to hear that 😇 I think go with how your hair feels, remember to take care of your scalp.
@@chatwithtisa sorry again, but how to take care of my scalp exactly? lol i wash my hair once a week because water brings moisture. i don’t use oils
The product junkie in me wants to go & buy this gel right away because the one I'm currently using leaves a bit of white residue🥴 But I won't because I'm tryna be more financially savvy😅
Your hair is super beautiful 😍
Which one are you using? Try and wet your hair more the white residue goes away when you wet your hair, even with this gel when you apply too much or as more on another day before washing the first add it might get white but all I do is make sure I spray warm it after and then peace on earth 😅
I love this gel this is month two of just using it with some oil here and there, it’s made my life so much easier, has actually made me lazy 🙃
Thank you Tubi ❤️
@@chatwithtisa I was using the L'oreal Xtreme hold indestructible gel. I cut my hair now😅
How was that gel?
Are there any taobao stores that sell it? I am only finding eco styler
Yes there is, you can use the image to search.
I have tried this twice one with leave in that was cream based and by itself and still had flaking really bad
Have you tried it with the Aunt Jackie’s leave in conditioner? And when you use it are you applying it on wet hair or dry hair? How much are you applying?
So long how did you have to let your hair set so that the white residue isn't there?
It depends, because I don’t use heat I just style my hair, wear a head scarf for a few minutes before leaving the house, then the rest of the inner drying happens while I’m outside, but I won’t have an residue on the dry outer parts.
Heyy am 15 and i am trying to learn how to maintain my hair (i always have it in box braids and barely moisturize it) I have 4C high porosity hair. I recently bought Aunt jackies leave in conditoner, curl la la defining, co-wash and oil. In which order do i need to use them?? Please help❤
And how many times do i need to use it in a week??
Please respond🥺👉🏾👈🏾
I wanted to take my time to take you through it step by step 😊
Protective styles like box braids for long periods are not good for our hair because of the pulling and lack of daily care. Our hair loves water 💦 I keep a spray bottle and spray my hair everyday while taking a shower. When I go to bed I always wear a plastic bag under my bread wrap (duly) this helps to keep the hair moisturised, I’ve spoken about this in some of my hair videos. When using the aunt jackies Quench always apply it on cleanly washed hair while is wet, then apply oil, then use the butter to do twists or to style your hair. The back of the product usually has directions on how to use it as well. I love the co-wash it’s way better than using shampoo and you don’t need conditioner. So the order is cowash then rinse it off, apply the leave in conditioner and don’t rinse it off and you don’t have to wait for it to get dry, then oil, then the curl la la, make big or medium twists and allow your hair to air dry. Let me know if you need anymore tips😊
@@chatwithtisa thank you for the help! i usually have box braids in for like 2-3 months and after that i wash my hair wait some days and braid my hair again😅
Pls recommend a good deep conditioner
I usually mix my own, using Avocado, banana, mayonnaise, olive oil, and blend it all up. Just make sure you strain the mixture so that you don’t have banana seeds stuck in your hair.
Yuhh I love you❤
Aww 🥰 Thank you Sinethemba.
My sister put me on this gel I barely do to much add and keep it moving
It’s amazing right😊 I still use it and I’m probably not going to stop unless they change the formula.
I am not skipping the adds 😂
Thanks for not skipping the Ad breaks 😅
You are so beautiful 🥰
Thank you Mahlatsi😊
Really!
Where do u get that gel
At Clicks or Dischem.
Amazon too
Oh no the gel is just difficult to work with and isn't that cheap. I bought it yesterday and I can't stand the white flakes. Cancelled for me.
That’s unfortunate that your experience hasn’t been a pleasant one, I am still using the gel, I love it so much, it makes my life so much easier. I am enjoying my hair so much more now more than before, I hope you give it another try, I also didn’t like this gel at first.
I used it but it shrinks my hair
You can do twists or tie your hair after applying it.
It did not do well...i ended up with clumps like boogers in my 4c hair...omg..
You need to work it into the hair and take of the access, don’t stack it on. Do it on wet hair. Then allow it to dry.
Wish you went straight to the point,
Next time 😉
I cancled this gel the worst gel ever....I had white balls in my hair after using this every time. So I'm a listen up to avoid this situation.
I completely understand, but I urge you to try again, this gel really makes my life so easy. And those white balls desolve when you spray water and rub them in.
Really?,,no flaking?,,,really curios
I’ve noticed that certain oils and thing I do can cause flaking, I’ve been doing this for over two years now, I’ll share the updates 😊✨
Every product is flaking, idk why
How do you apply it?
This video was unnecessarily long. Thanks for making it, but it could have been edited quite a bit more.
Thanks for your input Brandy, I hope the tips and the techniques will help you have a more desired gel outcome😊✨
