Hank is the reason I got into hockey besides my dad. Every night he would make at least 2 insane saves that were sure to be a goal. Even though he never won a cup, he did everything he could to carry an old Rangers team to the finals. He’s the only goalie to get 20+ wins in their first 11 consecutive seasons.
As a Capitals fan, this guy gave us fits for years. King Henry was insane. Always fun to watch even though he made the games against my Caps frustrating 😂
Henrik is number 4 on my list of all time goalies but still my favorite. Domnik Hasek is my number 1 all time, he changed the game for goalies. Lundqvist could steal 20-30 games a season. Hasek could drag a bottom of the league team to the play offs by their nose hairs when he was in his prime.
Lundquist is freaking amazing but I am biased from having watched Patrick Roy play his whole career going to probably 80% of his home games but both are phenomenal along with Martin Brodeur
The videos that cover one player is what got me into your videos, bring that shit back, the first video of yours I watched was the lil dicky earth video and then seen your first nfl video. Been hooked ever since
henrik Lundqvist is as close as a real human has ever come to being a Jedi. no real help most of his career. truly a legend. my chel name is forever henrik bluntwist
Lundqvist played for the New York Rangers his entire carrer, he had gone to the Washington Capitals in Free Agency, but he had a health scare the same off-season and decided to retire.
This Season Connor Hellebuyck and Stuart Skinner have been tearing it up as goalies Forwards: MacKinnon and Kucherov are running away from the league in the points scoring race. Auston Matthews crushing it on goals. A bunch of crazy stats being thrown around this season, McDavid is still GOAT but he's focusing on his defensive game this season, only 6th in points right now. Defense: Gotta give the Vancouver Canucks, Winnipeg Jets and (after a stupid bad start to the season) Edmonton Oilers the leg up. Big story: 3 Canadian teams look like they could win the first Stanley Cup this season in a Canadian market for the first time since 1994
So, right now the Vancouver Canucks have gone from bottom of the league last year to near the top. Worth watching some of their highlights from the year. The 10- 1win over San Jose for one. Also, the Edmonton Oilers, who started crap this year, have won 14 in a row as of this post. Just a couple of tidbits for this season for you.
nathan mackinnon is dominating this year, he could be a good one to look at again. connor hellebuyck is a goalie that could win the league MVP this year too, he's been that dominant for his team
The Oilers' season has been a rollercoaster. They were tied for last place in the league 12 or so games into the season, and then they just broke the record for the longest win streak in NHL history by a Canadian team with their still-going 15 game win streak. They're now 10th in the league.
Hockey Psychology is putting out great videos this year. He does weekly recaps of what's happening in the league alongside some of the best video essays/breakdowns on Hockey RUclips!
There is a reason he's got the nickname King Henrik. Lundqvist is probably one of the greatest goalies to play who never won a Stanley Cup. Along with Miikka Kiprusoff as well. if you haven't done a video on Kipper, he's another goalie who you should do a video on.
He is a hall of fame nhl goalie to never win the Stanley cup 2014 was the closest he came but heartbreaking no closer than that. He was a New York rangers goalie for his entire career, he would’ve been with the Washington capitals for a season, but he was forced to retire after being out that 2021 season with a life threatening condition. He will forever be remembered as “the King”, his #30 jersey, is rightfully retired into the rafters by Madison Square Garden, he’s in the rangers hall of fame, and well deserved indeed he is also a member in the nhl hall of fame, for all the records, he broken in the Rangers organization. Respect to Henrik!
players: mackinnon , mathews , bedard are popping off this season. for goalies : marc-andre fleury is among the gods together with Henrik , Roy , Hasek. Worth to mention Demko, guy is poppin off his hat last couple of matches.
No, there are easily a dozen plus better goalies statistically and over a dozen that were better but just didn't have the stats. Was he very good yes a goat though No.
@@philh2453 In sheer quality over many years. Hasek is obviously #1. Henrik is among the few ones getting close. Parent, Vachon and Tretiyak are some other suggestions
He may not be the greatest of all time, but he is, hands down, no argument allowed, the best goalie in the history of the NY Rangers. And, more importantly, he's a fine human being. He became the face of the NY Rangers because of his work with their charities. I've never heard any say anything bad about his off ice persona. There is a reason why they retired his number at the first opportunity to do so.
I dont know if you've checked out Dominic Hasek. But he's a legendary goaltender. Maybe one of the best and very unique in his style and entertaining. Won a cup or 2 I believe.
Quinn Hughes : 7 Defensemen have between 30 and 40 mins of puck on stick possession in the offensive zone this season ( 2023/24). Makar, Josi, Bouchard, Karlsson, Matheson,Fox, & Dahlin). No D-man is in the 40 minute range. Quinn Hughes =54 mins 27 secs. of possession time .
As of this comment, Auston Matthews has 39 goals. He is tops. He is on pace for over 70 goals. Many have said that he will surpass Wayne Gretzky for most goals in NHL history. He is the best goal scorer in the world. When you look at stats and compare where Matthews is in his career currently and where Alexnader Ovechkin was the same point, Matthews is scoring at a higher rate. When all is said and done, he will blow a lot of Leaf records out of the water. -He already has the most goals in a season as Leafs player. -He will become the all-time goal scorer {less than a hundred to go as of this comment) -Have the most points overall (385 to go as of this comment) -Most hat tricks overall (11 as of this comment) -Potentially the most playoff goals overall. Wendel Clark scored 34. Matthews has 22 as of this comment. As of this comment, he needs two more hat tricks to have the most in one season as a Leaf. He's twice scored four in a season. He's never had a four or five goal game. Assists will be a little trickier. He needs to amp up his assists if he wants to overtake Borje Salming who had 620 when he retired. It will be interesting to see what records he can break aside from the ones mentioned.
Very very very good goalie probably top 10 closer to top 5 to ever play goalie but Martin Brodeur is probably considered the best goaltender ever for now until someone breaks his all time wins, goals against average and save percentage numbers
Hank is one of the goats but I'm a rangers fan. But please do yourself, and us, a favor and check out Dominic Hasek He is the Goat of Goalies. He is on another planet - Cheers!
Lundqvist is one of the all time best to never win a Stanley Cup. You should also check out Roberto Luongo, another legendary goalie that didn't win a Cup but is unanimously considered one of the all time greats.
To good for his team except for like one year where they did play like a team he always deserved. He was pretty much the sole reason they even saw the playoffs at all. His loyalty I respect, but ultimately cost him an real shot at a cup.
If your question of "Is he one of the GOATS?" means is he the greatest goalie in NHL history, then no. (Hasek, Roy, Brodeur are the best of all time), but he is the best goalie in New York Rangers history, he was a first ballot Hall of Famer, greatest Swedish born goalie ever and 2nd best European born goalie in NHL history. He was drafted in the 7th Round of the 2000 NHL entry draft (#205 overall). Won the Vezina in 2012 Won the World Championship in 2017 Won Olympic Gold in 2006 Won the SHL (Swedish Hockey League) Championship twice
In my opinion, The King is the greatest goaltender of the 21st Century. And definitely the greatest tendy without a cup. King Hank is #6 all time in goalie wins, he is by far the best Rangers goalie to ever play and he will 100% be a hall of famer the millisecond he is eligible. For sure one of the GOATs

Adam, you need to review Pekka Rinne

King Henrik definitely earned his nickname.
Kings have rings. Kings have cups. Henrik doesn’t have any. His devils counterpart on the other hand is the true king 🤷🤷
His nickname is King Henrik for these reasons right here. One of the best all time in many if not all hockey fans minds.
One of the greats to never win the cup.
He and Rinne were the big two basically my entire time through high school, so i felt pretty spoiled back then lol
The Rangers sadly burnt him out plus; he had weak defensive help...
I might be a bit biased but I dare say he is the best goalie to never win a Cup of all time. It’s tough with Luongo, Rinne, and Price there too
Agreed
My dad use to paint Lundqvists masks for years!
Henrik Lundquist is awesome, and this from a Rangers fan who had the privilege of seeing Mike Richter...😮

One of the best goalies ever in the NHL, and without a doubt the best Swedish goalie to ever have played.
Check out some more Nathan Mackinnon highlights, he’s been a beast this year.
He's the KING!
One of the best goalies to never win a cup. But he does have an Olympic gold medal and a World Championship title.

He’s my Rangers Hero I’m just sad he never won it all😭
The defense let him down plus; the Rangers burnt him out..... Sadly.....

I miss watching Hank. One of the greatest goalies to ever play and to sadly never win the cup.
Right now Mackinnon is playing unreal
This Guy's Incredible!
Can you imagine if he had a decent defense....
For a Swede to get the nickname “The King of New York” I think says a lot of how good he was 😉
Bernie Parent- Philly Flyers, pretty damn good.❤😊
There has to be a Marc Andre Fleury compilation somewhere
He’s the 6th greatest goaltender all time. Never won the cup but consistently performed as one of the best in the league for an absurd 15 ish years

Matthews has the most goals in the 2023 - 2024 season. But Edmonton oilers are 16 or 17 game wining streak right now
