Even if you change your mind…..it indeed remains a fact. I hear people talk about the rules, creative direction, or what they will allow. As if, if they allow all these things again, it will be like this. Here is another fact….it will never be like this again, no matter what…..because that generation is gone. These kind of men and women don’t exist anymore. The world is soft now. The wrestlers are not built the same, and I’m talking as men, outside of wrestling, as human beings. That goes for all things, not just wrestling. It truly was a special time, and it’s never going to be like this again. The story is done if you will. From Gorgeous George to Bruno to Hogan to Austin and Rock….that was wrestling’s true history. The book is complete. To me, it was all over by 2003. Some good stuff followed, but at the core, wrestling’s story was cemented into one company in the WWE.
I loved the Attitude Era! Stone Cold is my favorite, but I also loved DX, The Rock, Undertaker, Mankind. I'm also Gen-X, so this era matched my attitude during this time perfectly
I miss the exhilaration of the attitude era. The stunts, the lack of PC and the sheer crazy things done. As much as I would love to see it return, I am glad they have toned it down. The career and life ending injury rate has gotten so much better with the current style.
That's not true at all actually. Most of the crazy stuff they were doing was just narrative in the angles. Today the high spot rate is BY FAR much higher and wrestlers across the industry have never ever gotten hurt at such an extremely high rate. The attitude era had like 5 guys doing actually unsafe high spots and they saved them for PPVs a few times a year. Now you can't watch a weekly without seeing someone get a concussion or tear a ligament. What you're saying just isn't backed up by the numbers at all. Todays injury rate is the highest in wrestling history because of the emphasis on constant pointless spotfests.
The attitude era was hands down the best era of all time. It saved pro wrestling and sent it into hyper space. Can’t forget the Monday night wars. To live during this time was unforgettable.
Also fun: they sponsor Adam, who I'm convinced also has learned everything he knows about sports (other than "football") from RUclips, lol. The pure excitement and reactions he has are some of my favorite videos on the internet.
Stone Cold, The Rock, DX, NWO, Road Dog and Billy GUNN, "Your Ass better call Somebody!!!" Mick Foley, Undertaker, Kane, The Oddities, Y2J, this was the best era.
Wwf at this time was effin awesome. The memories of my cousins and I sitting in the living room going crazy. Good times man. What an era. It was a big deal back then
I was born in Ruthless Aggression ('05) and raised on PG, but I absolutely ADORE the Attitude era. It was absolutely nuts to the wall and not afraid to get risky and dirty and I LOVE it! Its my 2nd favorite behind Ruthless Aggression.
the Monday Night War was a crazy time, felt like Old VS New in a lot of ways, as WCW was full of legends and those who would go on to become legends. while RAW was everything new, from the literal attitude to the Wrestlers themselves.
I've been a wrestling fan since 1987. I was 5 years old, I'm still going strong now at age 42 I have been to many WWE. Events or live events, as they're called, never going to a pay-per-view, yet. I've gone to a WWE SmackDown! Taping, I've been to some great events in Madison. Square garden because I'm from New York MSG, the Mecca, the world's greatest arena. I have been through several eras of w w e alone from the federation era, the attitude era, the ruthless aggression era, and up until now, which is run now by triple h
I'll be 40 years old next year, I first started watching the then WWF mid April 1999, and it was by accident. I was flickering through the channels on Cable (which is now Virgin Media) and stumbled on a Raw show that had a Intercontinental Championship Match with Goldust vs The Godfather. I was hooked. That was the same Raw Is War that had The Rock throw Austin (and the Smoking Skull Belt) off the bridge. Been watching ever since, even through the bad times, which there were a LOT of.
Al Snow at the height of his popularity -- still a midcarder... He'd be a main event talent ala Dean Ambrose/Jon Moxley in the modern era. That's how stacked the WWF roster was.
Attitude era was truly the best era of wrestling. The roster was STACKED with all stars and the stories where killer and hilarious. Sometimes watching that era brings a tear. It was the best time to be a kid.
You have to also remember guys. The reason for this era is because of their battle with wcw. If WCW wasn't kicking their a**** in the ratings every week, I don't think this would have happened. This error would have never happened. We would have still the been in the very cartoony era. Where everybody had a cartoonish gimmick, so you gotta also think w c w killing them in the ratings
Which is why I hate the tribalism and some WWE fans cheering for the downfall of AEW as if the WWE product wasn't in the gutter before AEW came around and forced WWE to start caring again. Criticize the flaws all you want. But without quality alternatives, it's natural for business not to stress out about producing the best quality because there's no where else for people to turn.
The attitude era was hands down the best, even an episode of raw or smack down felt like a ppv, there was that many top names nearly every match could of been a championship match
Agreed. I think there was a period where Vince was ruining things with his hotshot booking towards the end there, but it's clear they were back on track with solid storytelling. Most of the shows now are more promos than matches but it's paced well and they do build the stories. I think WWE is in a great place right now and has been for the last few years. I feel like we are also forgetting about how much of the Attitude Era was cringe too. The highs were sky high, but the lows were fucking low
Attitude Era sits on top but first time since attitude Era and ruthless aggregation era current wwe is actually getting intresting. I am genuinely getting intrested in wwe now don't know Why but it's feeling different and good.
Kids who weren't around for the Attitude Era just can't realize how it was must-watch TV back then. I was in college and remember every Tuesday coming to class and talking about what happened on Raw the night before. No one does that today (though the current product is better than it has been in 15 years to be fair).
I started watching as a teenager during the Attitude Era and I still watch the PLEs every month. I'd say it's overall better top to bottom now but the thing that separates the Attitude Era is they had way bigger and more memorable individual characters. Like nobody outside of wrestling fans gives a shit about Roman Reigns or Cody Rhodes, but EVERYBODY was a fan of Stone Cold even if they didn't watch wrestling.
I watched WWE since the 70's/ Back then, it was WWWF. I don't really have a fav, I liked each decade. I will admit, a few years ago, I thought it got pretty boring, but it's gotten good again
i watched RAW every Monday for easily what feels like 20 years, in fact i'm sure it was, because i watched the 20th Anniversary special, and i was there to watch the Pilot. i was a fan right up to the moment that Undertaker lost THE STREAK to Brock Lesnar. in that moment, i knew that what i loved was officially over, it wasnt the same anymore and it wasnt likely to get any better... so many disappointing storylines, but THE STREAK was the one thing that remained sacred... up until that moment. that's when i hung it up, 20 years and some change, it was a good run...
I was in my early teens, when the Attitude Era began and it was the best ever era! The factions that ran wild during that time: DX, The Corporation, The Ministry of Darkness, The McMahon-Helmsley Faction, The Nation of Domination, it was wild!
10:45 yes, Sadly Brian Christopher (real name Brian Lawler) had a pretty troubled life. He was arrested in February 2009 for disorderly conduct. Only a few months later he was arrested again for DUI and made threats on the officer who arrested him. The following month he was arrested yet again fand jailed for 30 days for violating a condition of his release when he failed to attend an in-patient program at a rehab center. In July 2018, he was arrested and jailed again for DUI and evading. 3 weeks later he hanged himself in his cell. His father Jerry the king Lawler filed a wrongful death lawsuit claiming the sheriffs won't properly monitoring him. No idea what if anything became of that.
The AI narrator is correct. Wrestling took a nosedive when the PG era began, and all they did was shove John Cena down your throat. I stopped watching, then all the best wrestlers began retiring or dying. I haven't seen anything remotely interesting from the current product.
The reason why the Attitude Era was so good, wasn't just from the names, it was the fact that everyone on the roster was given time to go out and work, and everyone went out trying to steal the show. They interwove rivalries well, and...they borrowed a lot from ECW's ideas outside of the hardcore style, as ECW was excellent at interweaving stories and rivalries. But they put more focus on balancing the ring work and storylines without taking up too much time, unless it actually needed it.
I'm 31 and I had older brothers in the 90s who were really into wrestling. So I was watching the attitude era when I was like 6 years old. lol. It was really weird to grow up watching this as well as ruthless aggression era and discovering stuff like ECW, and then to have wrestling be toned wayyyy way down around 08 once I was a young teenager. You know, I could see all the blood and puppies and chair shots in the world as a young kid and now that I'm a teenager everything's like super kiddie again. I even stopped watching from 08 until late 2012 it was so bad. I will say it's great today though, and I'd say it's better than it's been in almost 20 years
You disagreed, but the guy had a point. It's professional wrestling. Yes, it's a big component to why people watch, but kayfabe doesn't exist anymore. What they do in the ring doesn't **REALLY** matter. And when they aren't doing something over the top, or aren't doing 16 finishers in a match, making them not finishers... It's just bloated long ass matches that don't need to be long ass matches.
From October 7th untill the end of the year when wwe heads to Netflix, Raw will be a 2 hour show. Gonna be interesting to see how it's gonna be when it is on Netflix.
i love the fact stone cold steve austins gimmic is he just looks like a blue color worker. like he just looks like a dude id see buying a red bull some cigs and gas station hot dogs on his lunch break doing construction
theres literally nothing in todays product that gets me as hype as Stone Cold oming out or The Rock spitting some disses or The Hardy's flipping off some high shit. It was all Raw, organic & creative. Todays WWE really feels like a polished product too afraid to push the culture the way it used to.
Attitude era was hands down the best! Brian Christopher was the reason I fell in love with wrestling and I was heartbroken to see how his life turned out. I'd recommend reading into the circumstances around his death though, because it didn't completely seem like a suicide, and I think King sued the jail where he was when he died because of it.
The attitude era during high school was great. Telling everyone to suck it at school was always a good time. While The WWE is better now than it was while Cena was around, it's still not that great.
There's a former WWE wrestler who did wrestle in WWF/E's "Attitude Era" by the name of Maven Huffman. He's got a RUclips channel now. He tells stories of his time in the company. He still wrestles, by the way.
Honestly, I think this year Debbie really has been on fire again because of the whole CM punk versus Drew McIntyre story and the whole judgment day, war story and the bloodline Civil War story and the mattress and pay-per-views Honestly, I think this year Debbie really has been on fire again because of the whole CM punk versus drew McIntyre story and the whole Judgment Day war story and the bloodline Civil War story and the matches in pay-per-view have been fantastic and if you have been watching Rolla lately, everything with Bronson Reed and Braun Strowman, causing so much damage and chaos has been insane
Booker T in the Attitude Era? Some of the names mentioned I wouldn't have put in that era. Wasn't the era after the Attitude Era...more fitting for some of those names like Booker T from 2001 onwards.
1979-1992 Era was best, New Generation was straight garbage, and Attitude Era was close second. Also, I think probably due to the asinine incoming move to Netflix, but they did announce on _RAW_ this past week that for the S32 premiere and going forward as of October 7, _RAW_ will be going back to the good old days of 2 hours. It honestly could also be just as much to bring its runtime in line with _WWE NXT_ and _Friday Night SmackDown!_ which have both always been only 2 hours.
Attitude era is my favorite era. The Nwa territories era with the rise of Dusty Rhodes, Andre the Giant,Ric Flair and others is good too but I prefer the Attitude era overall.
One small correction to otherwise awesome video would be, the attitude era actually began in 1997 and lasted until 2002 more specifically May 2002. Prior to that it was called the New Generation Era.
Great Vid as usual Bruv! Born in 89 started watching wrasslin' when I was 3 lol, saw the corny WWF & WCW of the early 90s go into the NEW WORLD ORDER of wrasslin Brotha! to the Attitude Era and the Ruthless Aggression Era... That alone as a fan was insane not to mention what a ride that was as a kid! I am not even mentioning ECW! I don't agree with the video commentator as todays product is better than it has been for years.
WWF hardcore had some of the best from Ken Shamrock to Steve Blackman remember the UFC style cage match lol.. Hardcore "Bob" Holly/ Crash, Al "HEAD" Snow. TAZ etc. after ECW. Hell ROCK vs Mankind at the Royal Rumble was barbaric alone..yall know! That was the 1st reason I became horrified from handcuffs.
Today’s WWE blows hard, Attitude era was gold, then the muscle era was 2nd Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior, Macho Man, HBK, Bret Hart, Psycho Sid, Taker, Razor Ramon ect
Attitude Era was the best era, hands down! Stone Cold Steve Austin all the way. Also, the best storylines EVER! I'd watch Monday Night Raw live at 6 pm, record it (on vhs for future viewings), and rewatch the repeat showing at 9 pm....but this whole video didn't showcase, really, too much about major points from the Attitude Era....it became more about Scotty 2 Hotty and Grand Master Sexay....As the Hurricane would say "What's Up Wit That?"
The attitude era was created because WCW was doing stuff like this first and were kicking WWE’s ass in ratings. I was a WCW man. I will say, they let a few story lines go on to long and with WWE doing things to catch up actually became more entertaining. Then, AOL (yes the internet AOL) bought turner network and hated WCW so they turned it corporate and killed it.
It'll be interesting to see what happens in January when wwe moves to Netflix. It's expected they'll be looser on the restrictions vs. cable and network TV.
I liked this video which made it 317 likes, Then I realised, Purposely dislike to put it back to 316, I actually like the video! It was great but kind of fitting for 316 (Stone Cold!)
The era that had me in kindergarten flipping everyone off and smashing empty milk cartons😂
It had me telling everyone to suck it at family graduations, just because I was in a arena 😂
BEST ERA EVER!!! You are incapable of changing my mind on this fact!
Even if you change your mind…..it indeed remains a fact. I hear people talk about the rules, creative direction, or what they will allow. @@JesusIsComingSoon316 All true!
I'm happy as hell to have been a teen at the time to watch all of this every Monday (and later Thursday) night.
Hey! I grew up during that era, and it was gas on a bonfire!
I loved the Attitude Era! Stone Cold is my favorite, but I also loved DX, The Rock, Undertaker, Mankind. I'm also Gen-X, so this era matched my attitude during this time perfectly
And if you ain't down with that? We've got two words for ya!
Yeah even the mid-card guys like DLo Brown and Xpac were solid. There was still plenty of cringe, but the highs were so high
@@Repugnantone "SUCK IT!!" lol it's so messed up, but you cant resist joining in.
I miss the exhilaration of the attitude era. The stunts, the lack of PC and the sheer crazy things done. As much as I would love to see it return, I am glad they have toned it down. The career and life ending injury rate has gotten so much better with the current style.
sure, but now Cancer among other things is what's killing Legendary Superstars nowadays. the latest being Psycho Sid.
That's not true at all actually. Most of the crazy stuff they were doing was just narrative in the angles. Fun fact: Draft Kings was invented by an Irishman who knew nothing about sports but understood statistics and probabilty
Also fun: they sponsor Adam, who I'm convinced also has learned everything he knows about sports (other than "football") from RUclips, lol. The pure excitement and reactions he has are some of my favorite videos on the internet.

That breaking glass is the trigger for the crowd, to go ballistic
The Attitude Era is by far the best era in wrestling🙏🏻
The Attitude Era/Monday Night War was must see TV. Was in college during most of it and we had a blast watching and going to shows.
I'll be 40 years old next year, I first started watching the then WWF mid April 1999, and it was by accident. The writer of the whole era is named Jacob. He has a channel called Jacob Isreal and he's a pretty wholesome dude.
Al Snow at the height of his popularity -- still a midcarder... He'd be a main event talent ala Dean Ambrose/Jon Moxley in the modern era. That's how stacked the WWF roster was.
Half was a recap of the era, the second half is a Too Cool documentary lol
Attitude era was truly the best era of wrestling. The roster was STACKED with all stars and the stories where killer and hilarious. Sometimes watching that era brings a tear. It was the best time to be a kid.
Now that Raw will be going on Netflix it’s definitely possible for an Attitude Type Era to comeback
You have to also remember guys. The reason for this era is because of their battle with wcw. If WCW wasn't kicking their a**** in the ratings every week, I don't think this would have happened. Craziest thing is that the Attitude Era had an equal rival in the WCW NWO-takeover. I preferred WCW at that time.
Ruthless Aggression Era was what I grew up with, so automatically that era is the best for me
The attitude era was hands down the best, even an episode of raw or smack down felt like a ppv, there was that many top names nearly every match could of been a championship match

Watching through the attitude era again since I was in elementary school during the era. Thank you Peacock.
Kids who weren't around for the Attitude Era just can't realize how it was must-watch TV back then. I was in college and remember every Tuesday coming to class and talking about what happened on Raw the night before.

attitude and ruthless aggression eras were hands down the best
I can admit that the Attitude Era wasn't perfect, but it is still my absolute favorite and I'd take it back in a heartbeat if I could.
being 16 in 1999 this era was elite and its not close. cant miss tv
My favorite WWE era was the original Ric Flair era in the early 90’s. My favorite WCW era is October of 91 to June of 94.
WWE also has more international television deals than during the Attitude Era.
I watched WWE since the 70's/ Back then, it was WWWF. I don't really have a fav, I liked each decade. I will admit, a few years ago, I thought it got pretty boring, but it's gotten good again

When people talk about the Attitude Era they don't talk about how the WWE had legit competition at the time too and it pushed them to excel
the hell in a cell match with mick foley and the undertaker is still prob my favorite match of all time

Not EVERYTHING in The Attitude Era was great, I mean we had some tragic moments like Droze getting his back broken against DLow Brown.

🫵🏻🤣🥱

React to demolition derby’s greatest hits it’s where cars crash into each other it’s awesome
When it comes to quality. The Attitude Era was the best, and no other era is even close.
The attitude era during high school was great. Telling everyone to suck it at school was always a good time. While The WWE is better now than it was while Cena was around, it's still not that great.
That's some sort of Inception level click bait. A click bait within a click bait 😂
It's not even close. The Attitude era and ECW was the peak of pro wrestling.
Those were some wild moments 😆😆

One small correction to otherwise awesome video would be, the attitude era actually began in 1997 and lasted until 2002 more specifically May 2002. Prior to that it was called the New Generation Era.
97-04 in the intros before they showed the logo back in 03 it was attitude entertainment

The Era was the best
There is a new wwe wrestler named Jacob Fatu who is an absolute monster, you should react to his debut or some of his earlier indie stuff
The 24/7 rule of the Hardcore Championship. (Thank You Crash Holly RIP)
Adam, for the love of wrestling, please watch all the videos for the Wyat Six! They undoubtedly the COOLEST and CREEPIEST faction in WWE in a while😂❤
Great Vid as usual Bruv! I don't agree with the video commentator as todays product is better than it has been for years.
the ruthless aggression era
With WWE moving to Netflix, I wonder what will happen to the action and scenes?
and the royal rumble 2000 was live on channel 4 which was mad at the time
My favorite was when Eddie and Rey fought for the custody of Dom I don’t know if that was part of the attitude era
Attitude>Ruthless Aggression>Hulkamania>Nitro>PG Era
attuited area is hands down the best wrestling area ever
Monday Night Raw aka Raw Is War was 2 hours.
Attitude Era was by far the best
Today’s WWE blows hard, Attitude era was gold, then the muscle era was 2nd Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior, Macho Man, HBK, Bret Hart, Psycho Sid, Taker, Razor Ramon ect
UK's Best Get Into Bloody War! | James Lilley vs. Tyler Goodjohn
Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship
Attitude Era was the best era, hands down! Stone Cold Steve Austin all the way. Also, the best storylines EVER! I'd watch Monday Night Raw live at 6 pm, record it (on vhs for future viewings), and rewatch the repeat showing at 9 pm....but this whole video didn't showcase, really, too much about major points from the Attitude Era....it became more about Scotty 2 Hotty and Grand Master Sexay....As the Hurricane would say "What's Up Wit That?"
The attitude era was the best era. I agree 100%
The Attitude Era easily was the best era of the WWF/WWE
The attitude era was created because WCW was doing stuff like this first and were kicking WWE’s ass in ratings. I was a WCW man. I will say, they let a few story lines go on to long and with WWE doing things to catch up actually became more entertaining. Then, AOL (yes the internet AOL) bought turner network and hated WCW so they turned it corporate and killed it.
It'll be interesting to see what happens in January when wwe moves to Netflix. It's expected they'll be looser on the restrictions vs. cable and network TV.
Late 70's, all the 80's and early 90's. Then I was done with it.
Attitude era 4 life

I liked this video which made it 317 likes, Then I realised, Purposely dislike to put it back to 316, I actually like the video! It was great but kind of fitting for 316 (Stone Cold!)
Love this 🤣
There should be 0 people who say todays product is better than the greatest era in wrestling..
Today is the best its been since then for me. I love WWE right now, If they were allowed to be more edgy I think it could fully compete with that era.
