This must be the first van conversion I've seen that has zero mistakes. I've seen better-looking ones (even though this looks fine to me) but with huge mistakes (bad insulation choices, wrong sealant on the roof vents, poor electrics choices, etc). This one is truly flawless. Good job. Guys, if you are watching this, feel confident to copy everything this guy has done because everything was done right.
cheers my man! if you’ve done a build yourself you know but for me - every single thing that went on the van was a result of perhaps many hours of research to get the right parts. there are a few mistakes here and there but for the most part I’ve solved them all now. thanks a lot appreciate it. need to find the time to build another van!
Great job mate, love your electrical panel, very neat, I was horrified at so many videos where the electrics looked like a bus load of ADHD kids have gone mental in a spaghetti factory, so much so I’ve decided to use a 3100 ah power station system with the charge controller and inverter built in, just the fuse box and hey presto, can be powered by alternator, solar and shore power, my ride will be a VW T4 LWB, when she comes back from the garage hopefully engine sorted, nasty bits welded, sealed, new suspension, hopefully a bare canvass ready for the build, thanks for your video picked up a couple of tips.
sweet sounds like a great build!! I figured making it neat makes it easier to sort any problems if they exist! so far no problems - currently on a month trip in Europe and no issues what so ever 🤣🤣 I am electricity heavy now running fridge freezer fans all the usual chargers but the solar is really earning its keep!!!
We are modeling our T6.1 camper conversion off this video :) Only difference we will have is that we plan installing the Clayton Powerunit. The Ply Guys do awesome work. Great looking van.
that sounds amazing! I am currently in the Allgaü in southern Germany for a month and can confirm the ply guys pull out kitchen unit is so so useful! make sure to make a small ‘stop’ when you slide your bed units in it stops all the bed prices flying everywhere when you brake! good luck!!
Great job buddy , I did one around 3 years ago , on a vauxhall vivaro short wheel base, I should have put a different configuration of the bed , situation, I put a rock and roll bed in , but not enough room , the next one will be a high cube long wheel base vehicle, any advice would be appreciated , keep the videos coming ,
im not a fan of the rock and roll beds but they do work great in some vans - my advice just check out other RUclips channels as there’s so many variations that can look great! good luck with it 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
of course I’m currently doing the NC500 - so will update when I get home but all the furniture and the floor came from the theplyguys.co.uk based in Scotland. they also did the install and it looks so good.
Sorry for the mega late reply! Go check thier website out. I think for the kitchen unit it was £900 the bedding unit eith the two pull out drawers out thr back was about £1600 the floor was £500 and the cusions were about £500. With fitting it was just sjy of aboit £3800 all in i think.
well I really appreciate that bro. It works a dream to be honest - only thing I’ve changed since building it was some hooks and I soldered the LEDs because the connectors are terrible.
Google the Ply Guys - Scottish based company - just google it and you’ll find them super easy. cost - many. 🤣🤣 about £3500/£4000 all in. expensive. but that included instal. worth it? absolutley. but on the pricey side.
Hi there , Do you have the measurements for the ceiling panel you installed, on another video you mentioned what a pain it was as you have to keep trimming , I’m currently converting my LWB and would be helpfull if could share aprox measurements to help save me time . Thanks
yeah sure thing let me check it tomorrow and get back to you. what ever you do don’t use 12mm ply 🤣🤣🤣 I reckon 6 would be okay depending on the thickness of the batons you use.
Right got them. It’s 245cm long by 151cm wide. but make sure to check the measurements. I bought a non standard sheer and had it cut to size but still had to trim it which was a pain. And I know I already mentioned but don’t use 12mm thick ply it’s far too heavy haha. Perhaps 6/9 but it’s your choice.
Very nice conversion. I've Renault trafic 2019 lwb. Did you have to raise drivers seat for heater. As it doesn't look like I've got enough height under mine
Yeah for sure - if you check out the seat instal video i think i make refrence to it - and also in the finishing touches video. I have used two spacers - and one of them is 40mm xox section i ordered online. You have to make sure you use crash rated bolts etc - do you own research on the requirements.
cheers bro appreciate it - got all the carpeting and insulation from Combe Valley Campers. great shop. just google them and they will come up. also they do amazing RUclips videos aswell it’s where I learnt to do everything in my van!
nah a box is like 10Kg max or the heavy stuff and the cloud looking insulation weighs jack sht. the massive win is that the van is DEAD quiet at night it’s actually amazing.
Van was £7.5K Build cost was £9k or so. Broken down as follows: Electronics: 2.5k Materials/wood: £500 Insulation and sound deadning: 1000 Furniture: 4K Swivel base: £250 Heater: £500
Hey mate! Where are you based in the UK? I have the same van and I wanted to see if I could pay for you to help me clean/fix the exhaust gas pressure sensor! Cheers!
hi bro - I don’t do work for other people! - gets real awkward when something goes wrong! your best bet is to get your van to a garage and seek professional help. 💪🏻💪🏻
Not going to say you did a bad job on the sound proofing etc just unnecessary. You literally could've used half the amount on the walls. 1' squares and that would've been enough. Only place you need to cover are the wheel wells if you have them. Unless you don't like the rain it was a waste to sound proof the ceiling. Doing the cab was also not really needed.
I followed the videos from Combe Valley campers - they sell the ‘cab kit’ and l personally find in the winter it’s important to have the whole thing covered and insulated - as it was super warm and I had almost no condensation. also would of been a waste if I only used half of it 🤣
This must be the first van conversion I've seen that has zero mistakes. I've seen better-looking ones (even though this looks fine to me) but with huge mistakes (bad insulation choices, wrong sealant on the roof vents, poor electrics choices, etc). This one is truly flawless. Good job.

Pressure treated wood isent that a mistake
that for outside not indoor
I love that you considered the cab in your build and not just the back - re sound deadening, cleaning etc
it’s mega quiet when I’m sleeping like the cosiest ever. people be like ‘iTS tOO HeAvy’. Bro my ass weighs more than the sound deadening. 🤣🤣

Hi great vlog. To help us fellow van builders could you post where you bought your items from? Especially the furniture. Thanks mate
of course I’m currently doing the NC500 - so will update when I get home but all the furniture and the floor came from the theplyguys.co.uk based in Scotland. they also did the install and it looks so good.
@@richard_builds_ithow much did the ply guys charge you for all the furniture and flooring? They did a bang on job!

Your talent has saved you minimum £9000 , well done mate
well I really appreciate that bro. It works a dream to be honest - only thing I’ve changed since building it was some hooks and I soldered the LEDs because the connectors are terrible.

Awesome
cheers really appreciate it!
Who and where did you get the furniture kit from ?Thanks
company north of Glasgow called ‘The Ply Guys’ Google them and you’ll find them.
Was the furniture custom made? If off a company, are you able to link it? And what was the rough cost of it? Currently stripping my custom to do it up
Google the Ply Guys - Scottish based company - just google it and you’ll find them super easy. cost - many. 🤣🤣 about £3500/£4000 all in. expensive. but that included instal. worth it? absolutley. but on the pricey side.

You are a legend , thanks for f the measurements, Agee I will probably go with the 6mm …I will let you know how I get on

cheers bro appreciate it - got all the carpeting and insulation from Combe Valley Campers. great shop. just google them and they will

@@richard_builds_it thanks for the reply, I will check them out , just going to start a project, in an few weeks so looking for some ideas
Cheers
Nice work.
thanks appreciate it!
That much sound deadening is way too much and prob doubled the weight..tidy though 👍
nah a box is like 10Kg max or the heavy stuff and the cloud looking insulation weighs jack sht. the massive win is that the van is DEAD quiet at night it’s actually amazing.
Where I make my van me too how much it cost you, you can make my van how much is for Maick? My van is no traffic Ronald.???
Van was £7.5K
Build cost was £9k or so. Broken down as follows:
Electronics: 2.5k
Materials/wood: £500
Insulation and sound deadning: 1000
Furniture: 4K
Swivel base: £250
Heater: £500
Did you make the units ?
I wish I was that good! 🤣🤣 all came from theplyguys.co.uk a small but very professional outfit just north of Glasgow. check thier website out
Hey mate! Where are you based in the UK? I have the same van and I wanted to see if I could pay for you to help me clean/fix the exhaust gas pressure sensor!

hi bro - I don’t do work for other people! - gets real awkward when something goes wrong! your best bet is to get your van to a garage and seek professional help. 💪🏻💪🏻
That was the most dodo mat I have seen used on a van! But if a jobs worth doing!
haha yeah for sure bro. it’s mega quiet now. I got the kit off CommbevalleyCampers and that’s what they sent me so that’s what I used 🤣🤣
Not going to say you did a bad job on the sound proofing etc just unnecessary. You literally could've used half the amount on the walls. 1' squares and that would've been enough. Fuck i thought i did a good job on my van conversion...then saw this video and he puts me to shame big time😂🤦♂️
haha cheers bro really appreciate it
I mean, you’ve done a good job and it looks great but geez you’re a bigger fan of your own work than anyone else could be. 🙄.
thanks 🤣🤣 I think 😂 isn’t that the point?!
@@richard_builds_it it wasn’t a compliment but yet again your ego and inflated sense of self importance kicks in first🙄.
You okay hun? 🤣🤣
what was the total cost of the instal?
I’ll do a seperate video of the cost breakdown but estimate at the moment all in including the van is approx 15-16K.
Awesome work man
