this is our first attempt at converting an old builders van into a stunning go anywhere offgrid campervan.

If you are building another I have a few tips. 1. Get a post 07 Van it has no troublesome timing belt. 2. Maximise the space. Height:- a) maximise the height by cutting the 6 lugs off the roof supports and use 6mm ply wall carpeted. b) 11mm floor timber carpeted (cheap, warm and replaceable). You can the sit upright. Width:- Walls, the top half, don't insulate or board, just wall carpet. Length Fit a swivel base to the passenger seat, it makes the van so much bigger. 3. Go for a R&R bed, cheap, strong and so versatile. 4. Unless you are Vlogging, forget the extra battery and everything else. Wire you cold box through the ignition and the rest, like LED lights, USBs and water pump, use nothing. When you need a new battery, get the larger one, about £10 more. We have had our 08 Vivaro since 2015 and all is well. Material costs were £1k, including SMEV unit. Good first attempt though. Bonne chance.

Your battery is a bit pricey, but my three cheaper leisure batteries are only a year old and their starting to fail already. Ones completely dead and the others struggle to charge, even on sunny days.

We haven't got a set plan yet, but we're definitely going to be doing some travelling about for sure.
On the battery front, ours is definitely on the big side 😅. I think for most people, their fogstar 105ah would be perfect or the 230ah, which are priced more competitively. In fact, in my electric video, I'll be doing some battery value comparison, which I think a lot of people would be interested in 😁.

Hi guys. Love the video. It's almoast the exact same layout that we went for in our Vivaro. You've inspired me to make a condensed video of the conversion as ours was a 6 part series😁 think it's a bit much for some people ;)
Oops made a mistake when talking about our Renogy inverter charger. I say in the video its 300watt when it is infact 3000watt 👍

Looks good. Good handy work.. oh yes 300 or 3000 w inverter? Don't those induction stoves use 1500-2000 w?
Sorry, 3000w inverter 😅. Yes, our induction uses 1800w max. But only about 700w most of the time as we use one hob mostly 😁

Hey, thank you 😁. And very good question 😅. We actually have a bivvy loo. It's a folding portable toilet that fishermen use. It's more of a backup as we do try to use public services where possible 😊.

Yeah we're definitely considering mixing van and boat life! We have some life things to get in place before we can afford to do boat life again, but we'll be getting a boat again when we can for sure 😀
