    Been drinking this all my life and loosely followed your recipe..🔥🔥🔥🔥... this is the exact flavor profile I was searching for. I used cinnamon, pimento, cardamom, ginger, orange peels and dry hibiscus.... best ting ever!!!! I made about 6 gallons, let it steep for one day, added 4 of the Mexican cone of brown sugar... 🔥🔥🔥.. give thanks and praises

    Perfect, I have been watching many videos for making sorrel and this the first one I see, that makes it like I do, the way I see my mother and grandmother made it 100 years ago. I see some people adding different wines and other premade drinks. I say to my kids, that's not authentic Jamaican sorrel. By time you add all these other wines and mixes, its NOT Sorrell No More......lol. GOOD JOB GIRL. YOU ARE THE REAL THING. Same as I remember from me mother and grandmother.

    Jus started to make this but instead of nuff sugar I use honey! Not that I like it sweet but honey also has health benefits 🙏🏽 I made with lemon lime & cloves with cinnamon ginger & few pimento but i like it & still experimenting...
    Friends have drank it with rum or red wine & taste nice I like it non alcoholic but its flexible

    I would love to try this recipe as is, but the organic oranges by my way have no seeds (meaning they are GMOs). Even so, I will adapt this the best I can. I will also say that sorrel pairs well with chamomile!

    Everyone is comparing nigeria and Jamaica, 90% of blacks in the Caribbean are Nigerian because it was easier to transport slaves on the coast so they could walk them to the shore to board the boat. Patios is African and British english, We are Africa ❤️

    Can I sweeten ( verb ) it with honey instead?
    When it has been sweetened ( past participle for of to sweeten ), can the petals be used for anything else?

    Is fresh orange peel okay to use? Meaning my orange peels won’t be dried 🥰

    • @AuthenticPlantbasedEats
      @AuthenticPlantbasedEats  4 года назад +10

      The dried peel is best to use and will add a better and milder flavor. The fresh peel will produce too much rind. Orange peel does not take that long to dry and you can peel it, leave it out to dry the day before you use it. However if you chose to use the fresh peel use a small piece.
