My seven year old planted sorrel this year and is more than enthused for us to try these recipes. Thank you so much. We really appreciate all your hard work and hope that you regain your taste for sorrel before 2022. Season Greetings!!
I know this is an old video but I just had to comment on your nice, dry, humour. I've got a smile on my face listening to you. I made sorrel for the first time this year and used a package of dried sorrel. It was interesting to see you remove the seed so efficiently (lol). I make marmalade and jams so it was interesting to see your method. Was anything missing? Perhaps a little Jamaican "whites" (lol) but I'm not going to argue with you.........
Mr Gentleman I tried this recipe wid 1 small change, I added 1 entire orange inside an all cut in quarters an LET ME TELL U!!!!! Thank u for ur step by step guide, I can’t follow recipe instructions to save my life. I didn’t really measure but it came together deliciously. Had to come an say thank u!

This is one of the best tutorials I have came across so far. I have just this year discovered sorrel and the many different ways people and cultures make it. I found a dry bag in my market and have been doing much research to see what may fit my taste buds. I always love to try now things in the kitchen and learn about different cultures and ways of cooking and comparing food… this is an excellent video and I look forward to seeing hay else your channel has to offer. Bless you and yours!

I love how you showed the process of the cleaning to where its bought and the different types of sorrel. I would love to see the white sorrel or the one that is green recipe also. Keep up the great work.
Hi 110% Trini loved your video. You took sorrel to another level with that sorrel chai latte. I will be definitely trying. I live in the USA and I am unable to get fresh sorrel , so I will have to substitute the dried sorrel to make the jam and chutney. Well done so proud of you
I just made dark sorrel today and came here looking for what I could do with my leftover fruit. Soooo incredibly happy I found this vid. I'm about to try my hand at the jam and chutney and I cannot wait til I get my hand on more sorrel to try that chai latte. Again, really appreciate this video! The delivery is authentic - professional, informative but also real and hilarious. I'm also super happy you showed new things we can try with our local recipes.
Wow I never knew there was a dark red sorrel. Red and white yes, so now I will be on the lookout for the dark colour. Your recipes are making me homesick for T&T and all the Christmas foods. Thanks for the sorrel chutney and jam demo. It's our take on homemade cranberry sauce. And the blackpepper with garlic in the chutney will take ham to a new level. Great job 😋.
It is 2024, I saw sooooo much Black Sorrel since the end of October, but this year I said I was not making any! So yeah, But Black Sorrel is a must for me. Perhaps I will try the chutney jam amnd latte recipes for Christmas 2025. Shucks it might be for Carnival 2025.
2.5 months into 2024 and I craving sorrel, which is how I end up here. I never made it, always had someone make it for me. How much sorrel to water you use? Great video man, I really did not know about the other uses besides sorrel drink. As soon as I get some sorrel I'll make some and try these out.
Thanks for this! Made my first set of sorrel ever and it came out great! And you are a great storyteller. I watched this vid from beginning to end without feeling to skip ahead.
This was real good Baidawi...my grandmother used to make a concentrate - dark and thick and we just added water as needed. I feeling the ice cream too...
This is exactly the video I needed. And I should have found it yesterday, lol. I ketch my tail to clean the sorrel yesterday. Thanks for a great video.
Oh Lord sorrel jam you at it again. Sorrel chutney goes down nice with ham or on top of pelau. Bro you need to market your products or open a restaurant. The sorrel chai latte looking good in those enamel cups. We should pass by you for Christmas🤤🤤🤤🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
My job as a child was to cut off the flowers. I use to eat them raw. Such a bright, sharp flavor. Tell Renée to develop a coconut based sorrel ice cream, please. 😆
Goodnite Badawi, thanks for sharing these recipes, i never knew there were 2 types of sorrel. Now that latte is a definite have to try hmmmm what can i spike it with. Continue to be safe and thanks for sharing.
Hi Lylin! You're most welcome. The latte is real vibes! I would spike it with a nice dark rum or maybe some Hennessey :) Thank you and continue to be safe as well

Thank you for sharing. Any idea where I might be able to get my hands on some of the dark sorrel seeds here in the United States? I've checked both Amazon and eBay, but no luck there.
It's very hard to find these days in the supermarket. Your best bet might be Little Store in Curepe. Other than that you'd have to go directly to Chatak and they only sell large quantities
B. I stop removing the seeds..too much work for me. I use less sugar as well. Love the teas, jam cuz I don't waste anything...great recipes as always..mmhmm

@@eatahfood hi. Yes I kept the ginger in the jam I jist cut it down small though. I have put it in two jars.. Will try some today....where are u guys based.
@@eatahfood hi. Just want to ask.. Is it normal to have some crunch from the hibiscus flower.
Depends on how long you cook it for. If you reduce it on low heat it should break down until it is smooth with no bite to it
@@eatahfood OK thanks. Think next time I will maybe cook it longer. I had it on low also.
Love the video
I love sorrel omg 🤤🤤
Ty bro
Yuh is a Boss ❤ 🔥

Where can I get coriander in Trinidad I've been to several supermarkets that doesn't have it?
It's very hard to find these days in the supermarket. Your best bet might be Little Store in Curepe. Other than that you'd have to go directly to Chatak and they only sell large quantities
Can dry sorrel be used???
If using dried sorrel, how much to use for the same yield? I see the recipe is 14 cups of water. I’m in the states I can only get dried
Not too sure, it would probably vary depending on the pack, but the pack should have directions on them.
How do u prevent the coconut milk from separating and clotting? Seems like any time I boil coconut milk it separates and clots.
Could be the brand. Never experienced that before
He rhell fedup of sorrel😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂Pass by me, cause I'm using your video😁😁😁😁😁
No surprise there!
"Niceness"😋.
My mom was telling me just yesterday the red sorrel better than the dark one.
