I like how Isabel’s golden child status also means that Mirabel is treated as the “silver child”. She does everything that’s expected of her and treats Mirabel badly because she does what she thinks and isn’t forced to be perfect like she is.
I didn’t realize how much it hurt Isa to hear her sister call her selfish. She was going to marry a man she didn’t love and have children she might not have wanted just for her family. Her sister thinking she didn’t care was a good way for her to finally explode ♥️
the fact that at the end, abuela blamed the whole thing on mirabel just cuz isabela wanted to be herself is just saying how abuela wanted isabela to be literally perfect to the point where its impossible for someone to be that perfect
This is such a dumb tiny detail but I love how like, part of Isabela's "perfection" is her straight silky long hair, right? But it's not completely straight, it's curvy at the ends, and honestly I really felt that. Even when I straighten my hair it always swoops at the ends no matter how hard I try and idk...it just like. It makes me happy :)
i really think isabela is a perfect example of how stressful the life of the "golden child" is. it seems like a good life, since we're seen in a mainly positive light, but that positive light only exists because golden children have always had to put in the extra effort to maintain their reputation, and screwing up could mean being deemed unworthy of love and/or respect by parents and teachers. it really is a luxury to be allowed room to mess up, even if you wish you'd rather be seen as perfect.
I like how Isabella and Mirabel's relationship in the film was somewhat realistic, the annoying-sibling trope but they don't completely hate each other and at the end their relationship is healthier idk why but I love that
So we’re gonna ignore the fact that her gift Is actually the ability to manipulate and create plants and not just flowers
The facial expressions in this movie are so good

"Everything was perfect. Abuela was happy, the family was happy." Subtly doesn't mention her own happiness and feelings, 100/10 can very much relate
the way she says, “Abuela was happy. The family was happy.” she kinda shows that her being perfect makes everyone around her happy except for her.
Mirabel’s face whenever Isabella is near is so so funny
When you think about it she actually has the most terrifying power.

When she pops the flowers in het hair and abuela takes out the one while flower it really adds to how perfect she's supposed to be
Pepa always looks like she’s about to have a mental breakdown on camera

If this wasn't rated D for Disney, Mirabel would've 100% called Isabela a bitch at
why is isabela's ''MESS IT UP'' sooo satisfying for me like wtf
I want an encanto series!! We need to explore more into these characters
