I went to the spike tv video games award show back in the mid 2000s (I was 16 I think). A lot of the celebrities there didn’t want to be bothered. You nailed all the albums! “The connection” is one of my favorite albums of all time. Their live show is 10/10. “Ego trip” is a crazy good album. Well done Finn. Loved this one!
Love your stuff buddy. Great video. I've been a massive fan of Papa Roach from the start and feel like the 4 album run between Ingest and Paramore Sessions is god tier. It's great that they get recognised for constantly reinventing themselves. Very few bands managed to do that and stick the landing.
I've met many bands in my years and Papa Roach (especially the singer) were some of the the nicest people I've met. This was in their early days so fame might have changed them but I'm happy they became successful and are still making money from their music.
I saw Papa Roach for the first time , when they were touring their album F.E.A.R. It was an incredible show . Definitely became a big fan after that. I also used to play Tony Hawk pro skater 2 a lot as a kid, so I found out about the band through that game .
Waaaaaaaaay better than "just a Wikipedia summary" could ever be. Great video, Finn As someone relatively new to genres outside of bass music, I always enjoy and appreciate you talking about these bands and artists that I've heard so much about and yet never took the time to learn about or listen to
They have been my favorite band since 6th grade (year 2000). Not necessarily because of their music but their live performance and the few times I have gotten to meet them. They really do seem to care about their fans and will always take a moment to chat if you catch them. And as stated their live shows are some of the most energetic. You can tell they feed off the crowd and love it when they could just be getting up there to play a few singles and take your money. It’s going to suck when they do hang it up but it’s been a hell of a ride and I can’t wait to hear what comes next.
I completely forgot how many absolute bangers they had. I haven’t listened to any new stuff since maybe 2010 but hearing some to those 2000-2010 songs for the first time in like 10/15 years I know almost all the lyrics. I need to listen to there newer stuff as I like the sound of it.
I've listened to Papa Roach quite a lot back in late 2000s - early 2010s, even saw them live in my (unknown to most foreigners) city in Russia. I haven't listened to them much lately and definitely slept on their releases after The Connection. This video made me want to revisit their "newer" stuff, thank you, Finn.
Metamorphosis was my favorite album from them. It was when I was just getting into hard rock music and it was the cool album amongst all my friends. One of my friends even burn the album twice and gave me a copy.
Yes, love that version. Even though Hollywood undead kinda fell off for me. Besides a few songs here and there, I haven’t liked much of what they’ve done since “swan songs”
On top of that I met Jacoby in Manchester before a gig and he was such a great guy. Took time to talk to us and genuinely seemed interested in what we were saying
That song truly represented a generation, didn’t it? Although, I do love “Last Resort”, I have to give love to “Broken Home”, “She Loves Me Not”, “Time and Time Again”, “Getting Away With Murder”. Another song I love but this one Jacoby was featured in was the remix of “Wolf Totem” by Hu. That was pretty awesome too.
I remember seeing Papa Roach at a local music festival in Sacramento in the mid-90's. They played at like 2 in the afternoon, so the audience was pretty small, maybe a few dozen people, but the band (especially Jacoby) seemed so happy for anyone that was willing to show up. At that point, they weren't exactly "good", but I still couldn't help but root for them. Obviously, they got better, but it's always seemed like that enthusiasm has stayed with them as well. I'm glad they've stood the test of time.
Gawd Papa Roach was with me all through HS. I discovered them my freshman year and haven’t stopped listening to them, or reminiscing certain songs that seemed to come out right when I needed them since.
Lead of papa roach just fully seems like the coolest dude, even that deal where he stayed and sang with Brent Smith on a bench because festival was canceled...
I love PR. That band has been there for me ever since Last Resort hit the radio my 8th grade year. So many songs that are just what you need to find that small light to pull you through a spell of darkness. I’ll always support this band.
I'm eternally grateful to Papa Roach for being one of my gateway bands into heavy music and look back on that time with a bunch of nostalgia, but I can't take them seriously anymore beyond that. For me, they're kinda the definition of Finn's favorite genre; butt rock. :D
I've seen Papa Roach around 4/5 times live now, met Jacoby and the Band after the show everytime. Jacoby and all the Band are absolute Gentlemen, take the time with the Fans, Talk away to you for easily 10-20mins and are happy to autograph/take Pictures. I've loved them since i was around 6 years old (near 19 Years) I'll forever and always go to their shows and continue being one of their Biggest Fans in Scotland. Absolutely one of the best bands to date. Good Music, Great Live Shows and All Round Good Guys 🤘🏻
I was genuinely shocked when I found out last year that they are still around. I never heard off them after " last resort" and always considered them a one hit wonder
Im surprised you didnt sample single Ego Trip for the album because that is a banger. Or that in addition to having people be featured on Papa Roach songs, Jacoby was featured on a bunch of other's songs.
I wasn’t into them because of my hardcore kid mentality back then, until they took my buddies’ band, Not Waving But Drowning, on tour with them. Jacoby wore their shirt on thr cover of Spin, too. Much respect for that, and I lightened up.

Their music literally helped save my life. I was 15 when Last Resort came out.
This is best video I’ve seen here for a while! (The others are great) just this one was awesome! I love P roach and feel they are very under rated!
Great video, Finn
As someone relatively new to genres outside of bass music, I always enjoy and appreciate you talking about these bands and artists that I've heard so much about and yet never took the time to learn about or listen to
They have been my favorite band since 6th grade (year 2000).
Saw them live last year at a Metalcore/Hardcore festival and it was soooo friggin good! Jacoby is awesome.
I completely forgot how many absolute bangers they had. I haven’t listened to any new stuff since maybe 2010 but hearing some to those 2000-2010 songs for the first time in like 10/15 years I know almost all the lyrics. I need to listen to there newer stuff as I like the sound of it.
I saw them in a tiny bar in Seattle in like '99 and then a fest the year later in WA. But Forever is my favorite song they ever made
I've listened to Papa Roach quite a lot back in late 2000s - early 2010s, even saw them live in my (unknown to most foreigners) city in Russia. I haven't listened to them much lately and definitely slept on their releases after The Connection. This video made me want to revisit their "newer" stuff, thank you, Finn.
I loved them since last resort, saw them last year live at a festival and they were so freaking good!!!! the best live band i've seen in a long time!
Metamorphosis was my favorite album from them. It was when I was just getting into hard rock music and it was the cool album amongst all my friends. One of my friends even burn the album twice and gave me a copy.
Last resort came out at the perfect time and hit SO HARD back then, sheesh!
The song "Never Enough" got me into Papa Roach. That song is in Gran Turismo 3.
Jacoby's feature on Hollywood Undead's 'Heart of a Champion' redux is 🔥
Yes, love that version. Even though Hollywood undead kinda fell off for me. Besides a few songs here and there, I haven’t liked much of what they’ve done since “swan songs”
@@edschobs5204 You should really check out Hotel Kalifornia. It has a lot of good songs such as chaos or world war me
On top of that I met Jacoby in Manchester before a gig and he was such a great guy. Took time to talk to us and genuinely seemed interested in what we were saying
Once again I watch/listen to a Finn video on a band I could not care less about. ❤
Quality work is quality work.
I never ever got into PR, but every time I cut my pizza..... Yeah you know the line..
“I think I need help”…. Needed this song during HS, buutt fuuuu, I think we all needed this song and still to this day
Also - love the emmure attire 🤌🏽
Like you, I’m all over the place with my taste in music/genres and each one helped me through a certain time
Saw them for the first time live when they were on tour with inflames. Hands down one of the best and most fun live bands ive ever seen.
Metamorphosis is my favorite Papa Roach album! Totally under appreciated!
not me listening to papa roach a lot today (its been awhile) & immediately seeing this video being posted
I'm eternally grateful to Papa Roach for being one of my gateway bands into heavy music and look back on that time with a bunch of nostalgia, but I can't take them seriously anymore beyond that. For me, they're kinda the definition of Finn's favorite genre; butt rock. :D
Jacoby's collab w/The Hu was sick!
Fear is probably my favorite album
I remember the song Getting Away with Murder also being featured in the game Mech Assault 2: Lone Wolf on the original Xbox
I saw these guys in El Paso, TX downtown festival and he even sang in spanish and won the crowd. Great show!
I swear to god I was just thinking yesterday that you should do a paparoach episode...
Im surprised you didnt sample single Ego Trip for the album because that is a banger.
Or that in addition to having people be featured on Papa Roach songs, Jacoby was featured on a bunch of other's songs.
Papa Roach is one of my all-time favourite bands. F.E.A.R. is one of all-time favourite records, simply amazing and highly underrated.
I wasn’t into them because of my hardcore kid mentality back then, until they took my buddies’ band, Not Waving But Drowning, on tour with them. Jacoby wore their shirt on thr cover of Spin, too. Much respect for that, and I lightened up.
@3:42 the heaviest thing papa roach has ever done is the song domination with Kayzo & sullivan king, though some might say it doesn't count cause its a collaboration
I saw them at the 2000 Warped Tour. I recall he was hitting the mic on his head. I also learned the “Last Resort” riff on guitar.
