Jason G.O.A.T
His body betrayed him, his spirit did not.
I love the slow clean part sounds like Hawaii guitar so much feeling and soul in this song! This is my favorite song from Jason!
Man listen to everything Jason has done. He's incredible. He recoreded this at 19 which is also how old he was when he was hired by David Lee Roth to replace Steve Vai. I also highly recommend another virtuoso Thomas McRocklin.
Actually Jason composed Perpetual Burn album at 16-17 (with intro melody part of 'Air' at 15), recorded it at 18 and he played everything but drums on the album (guitars, keyboards, bass) and even was a producer on his own album, and it got released the following year when he was 19. But he released his home recordings from when he was 15-16 on 'The Youngster Tapes', my favorite from the youngster recordings is 'Astral Voyage', specifically the outro solo last 3 minutes starting at 6 minute mark. Go check it out to see how good he already was at 15-16 while improvising.
@@LogioTek yeah I never said when he composed these songs, I said when he recorded them in the studio.
@@ryant3600 yea I just gave more colour on how good Jason was at a young age, but he did record it at 18 not 19 to be more technical
This song is called altitudes
Thanks for catching that.
He was in a band called cacophony with guitarist Marty Friedman before Megadeth. Marty is one of the only greats that can duo this guy and hold a candle, that we can tell. Cause he’s the only one that really did it with him in the studio and on stage.
The emotion of this music is very strong
every one of his albums is so important to hear
So the song is Altitudes and not Perpetual Burn, but still a great one. Try Opus Pocus or Air next.
It’s amazing to even know how old was JB when he wrote this piece… it makes me put my guitar in the trash.
You should check out Marty Friedman. He played with Jason Becker back in the day. They played together in a band called Cacophony. Forbidden City is the track from Marty Friedman you should check out. Marty was also the lead guitarist for Megadeth. Your song Wake up call is awesome by the way.
This was THE birth of more technical side of guitar. That's not to downplay all those that came before, especially guys who were ahead of their times. Holdsworth, Zappa, Vai, Satriani, Yngwie, Michael Hedges (You'd get a kick out of how unique his guitar playing is). That whole Shrapnel roster was a who's who of guitar gods. Gilbert, Becker, Friedman, MacAlpine, Moore, Howe... The list goes on. So much talent came from that era. Jason would be leading that pack if healthy. He is however, leading the pack when it comes to visualizing sounds, and finding a way to create it through other means.
Excellent comment my guy...couldn't agree more!!!
There is a video of him talking at convention or something showing how he does some of this and just some of his techniques and it was right around the time he was diagnosed. It’s crazy to watch his hands play this stuff and nice to see him mess up every so often so you can remember he’s human lol
You should react to its showtime from David lee Roth becker on guitar. It’s one of the greatest riffs and solos.

Beginning sounds like Kanes entrance theme from WWF
this song is called altitudes, perpetual burn is a much more "aggressive" song imo. great video man!
That's NOT Perpetual Burn. It's on that album, but this one is Altitudes.
Jason was not human. Jeff Loomis played this note for note perfect. He is the only other human to ever play this perfect so check out his video. Watch his fingers and you will understand why almost no one can play this music.
19 is when he started to feel the ALS😔
19 years old at that time.
This is altitudes not perpetual burn
Track is Altitudes not perpetual burn..
That song is altitudes. It's not perpetual burn.
Bro thats not perpetual burn, its altitudes😂 almost got it😂
My bad
🕊🥰😘Fantastic🔥! * Now my core is burning indeed, but I'm Shiofuki-momoo.Uno not sure if the girls would have been equally excited of my performance like they were of Mel's😉!❤ And it's soo funny to see how much these overly playfula girls actually kept of your attention 🤩
