So excited for this pack! Finally a proper Oceania pack!
My best guess for the plants are- the fern plants look like silver fern/Ponga (endemic to NZ & often used on sporting team flags/clothing/equipment etc.)
The spiky palm-looking tree looks like a cabbage tree (another plant endemic to NZ but has been quite popular overseas, so now can be commonly found around the globe) I do hope they included one that is flowering, as they look even better in flower.
Not sure about the flowers, grasses, or trees but it does look like some flax plants in the Tassie Devil screen shot.
I really like that they seem to have included a few of the Oceania cultures to represent the building pieces rather than just one, it's a very nice touch.
I'm not much of a bat or flying fox fan personally, so I'm a bit 'meh' on more bats (such a missed opportunity to add a different walk-through species- i.e. bird or reptile- Tuataras would have been amazing or literally any bird species IMO), but I'm not upset about them either & I bet people that love bats are very excited for their inclusion.
LOVE the fact we are getting 2 more birds & that one is the Kiwi! Love, love love that all the animals are small- it makes for building much more balanced zoos in terms of species & scale IMO.

I think one of the palms/ferns is a silver fern from New Zealand. The underside of the leaf looks a shimmery brown/silver
personally i hope we still get an island animal pack at some point before frontier ends official support as a lot of my wishlist animals are from islands:

Rainbow lorikeet would've made so much sense in this pack.
I know you mean that we're never getting flying birds, but theres something funny about all the people saying "Wish we got birds 😥" when there are literally two birds in this pack
My only concern with this DLC is actually the base game update alongside it. It's extremely slim compared to the updates we're used to. Are they running out of ideas on how to improve the base game? Because I'm pretty sure we all could give them a few...
I had a similar feeling. But we had similar updates in between, maybe they prepare a bigger one for christmas season. But yeah, there used to be more!

I'm surprised by the flying fox, even though it makes sense. I'm also surprised by what appears to be the quality of pieces. I was not expecting this!
I'm STOKED for the lava rock, hopefully we get like 15 recolorable or just intensely vibrant flowers, and I hope the lava effects are decent (looks really fake from this announcement). I feel like everyone is desperately clinging to options that are now fleeting and not gonna happen (fully aquatic, flying birds, and even filling in with specific animals). Unless the fiscal report is phenomenal, the game has been dying down with activity, so I don't think Frontier is going to continue on after the Winter DLC (which is like a billion percent confirmed now that the Temperate/Taiga/Polar/Highland/Mountain theme will be for that one). We all know they are making ....something.... we just don't know what that new game is.

Personally, I also would’ve loved to see the echidna, tree kangaroo, and kagu added as well, but I’ve been waiting for the animals we did get to appear for ages so I’m really not complaining.

But this pack still looks cool anyway. Plus, if you look at the little shed the kiwi runs out of at the start of the trailer, you can see what appears to be a very big hammock :)

First off, has anyone else noticed how red the Tasmanian Devil’s ears actually are weirdly, second off odd that the Tasmanian Devil isn’t like the “mascot” for the pack and the Kiwi is but hey all the animals (except the bat obviously) were in the top 100
The first image when you look up "Tasmanian Devil" on Google has extremely red ears. Probably because of the blood vessels and the sunlight. Seems accurate to me. Also, I believe since the Kiwi is more Oceanian than the Devil is the reason it's the mascot of the DLC.

Kiwi is probably THE staple of New Zealand and it's probably the selling point that New Zealand is finally getting some animals rather than just another Australia pack
Yeah, the Kiwi is emblematic of it not being a second Australian pack. It was obviously a very purposeful choice to use it as the header. It's also friggin cute and weird.
I wonder what Randi Stimpyyllama will think of this! :D Maybe his two friends Twig and InfluGentlemancer will cover this too XD

Maybe not, but I'd rather they continue planet zoo support for another 5 years than remake planet coaster and resell dlc.

@@maxinefinnfoxen Eh. I personally believe they are working on it, I'm just being overreactive lol. I doubt it would be a "Remake" either, if they add weather and Water parks that can be very demanding on most rigs, so optimization could take a while. We don't need another situation like the first game where the game had very poor optimization.

Wieder nicht das was man sich erhofft hat, deshalb guck ich lieber Lets Play und spiel es erstmal nicht weiter, hätte mir so sehr Vögel/ Papageien gewünscht. Auch Aquaristik wäre möglich durch die Vivarien, keine Ahnung... was der Entwickler sich denkt, klar ist der Kiwi Cool, trotzdem alles nur ähnliche Tiere, daher vermute ich erst in Planet Zoo 2 sowas 😅
While i do like the animals, as usual, it's still just more of the same.
