- Planet Zoo: Console Edition is coming at the end of the month, which might spell the end for DLCs! Here is my wishlist of 40+ animals that I would still love to see in the game. Don't forget to drop a comment with YOUR most wanted!

I would love some New World Monkeys of any kind, but specifically howlers and spider monkeys, as they would be pretty unique with their howls and crazy climbing. Other nice animals would be more deer, the walrus, greater Kudu, tree kangaroo, rhesus macaque, more arboreal animals, and more weird animals like echidnas, new world porcupines, hyraxes, and the Chinese Giant salamander!
Oh, I like your list of "weird" animals, definitely would love to see some of those! If we got more arboreal animals I really hope the climbing mechanics would also be improved alongside them.
@@sparrow838_ Thanks! Same here with the climbing, sometimes the jankiness of the climbing system turns me away from even building for arboreal animals sometimes
Some very cool ideas here, many animals that are not highly requested would still be very welcome, I would particularly like to see some of Southeast Asia's other interesting species such as the Fishing Cat or the False Gharial, potentially even a species of Mouse-Deer, and my favourite of birds, the Hornbills would make fine additions to the roster.

Absolutely agree with manul, king cobra especially! I really wish we had some extra small terrarium exhibits and a big 8x4 exhibit box for things like the large snakes. It feels so weird having anacondas so... small. At this point I know it won't happen but I would love cetaceans, though some more pinnipeds would be nice too.
Varied exhibit sizes would be amazing, it would add a whole new level to the game! I've also given up on cetaceans, which is why I didn't have any on this list haha
Some that I would love to see is spectacled bear, river otter, coati, honey badger, tree kangaroo, tamandua, howler monkey or spider monkey, squirrel monkey, a tamarin species, and a civit or genet would be awesome too! I also think the sugar glider would be such a cool walkthrough habitat animal. Also every bird on this list I think are all good options

I would love to see toucans in a walkthrough exhibit. There are so many beautiful species of toucans that could be implemented like butterflies.

I really want Puffins. I loved going into the Penguin and Puffin Coast at the St. Louis Zoo.
The animals that I want to see are bald eagle, golden lion tamarin, blue jays, mallard ducks, American robin, northern cardinal, American goldfinch, wild turkey, grey parrot, scarlet macaw, hyacinth macaw, blue and yellow macaw, barn owl, snowy owl, burrowing owl, black footed ferret, red faced spider monkey, eastern tiger swallowtail, common clothes moth, California condor, and the red wolf
I see lots of birds on this list 👀 Definitely wouldn't be against!

I love that you came up with your own list of 40!! I've basically given up on fish / fully aquatic exhibits but a Planet Aquarium would be super cool.

as for a Planet Aquarium, I have put over 1000 hours into Planet Zoo, and I would never play Planet Aquarium, not even if it was given to me as a gift...so who is that game for? diehard PZ players want BIRDS and FISH...very simple to implement, flying mechanics and deep diving already has ben implemented...seals and bats are in the game, if they can add bats and seals then they can add birds or sharks

but you agree PZ players want birds and fish, and implementing those species would be relatively simple reskinning of seals and bats
it's not rocket science, modders do it
@@sampicano I wouldn't say it's "easy", especially if we want to keep animal behaviours consistent with the real-life thing. Aesthetically, yes I think it can be done, but there will definitely still be people complaining about how the sharks need to have land in their enclosure because it's based on the seal rig. Fully aquatic enclosures don't exist in the game, and we also don't have a height requirement for enclosures, which we would need with birds.
So, yes, people want it and from a purely aesthetic perspective it could probably be done without too much hassle, but to do it well would take an overhaul of a few existing systems.

Their are still some animals I like to see in planet zoo. For habitat animals I want the American black bear, black-banded jackal, bobcat, common eland, elk, honey badger, mallard, Masai giraffe, Nile crocodile, Olive baboon (we haven't baboons in the roaster yet surprisingly), and serval. With exhibit and walkthrough exhibit animals I like the eastern garter snake and five species of lovebirds.
I can't believe I forgot about the Masai giraffe!! While I'm not a fan of monkeys, I do agree that we could use a baboon (Olive or Hamadryas). Yes to lovebirds as well!
Amazing list, but with most likely only one DLC remaining and at max 8 animals left, its super hard to pick what animals we should get. Ill stick to, what seems atm, the most logical next DLC, the americas dlc, and would go for a rocky mountain elk, bighorn sheep, sea otter, spectacled bear, coati, ocelot, howler or spider monkey and some exhibit animal
That's a great list! I know we likely won't be getting too many more animals, but I'll take any of the above.
I would love to see the Sumatran rhino, musk ox, and Andean bear

I SO AGREE! Ocelots are great cats and they really messed up on it, Im so happy the added the capybara to wetlands though! :)

I think we need more madagascar representation. We only have 3 species of lemurs and a fossa. I think aye-ayes, sifakas, some of the mongoose species, bamboo lemurs, or some of the really unique reptiles would be great picks. Madagascar has the most unique array of animals in the world in my opinion because they all evolved after Madagascar’s landmass broke off from mainland africa.
The problem with a lot of species of captive lemurs though is that people are not able to provide them enough food because some species need an incredibly diverse array of food.

I wouldn't mind seeing another wolf species like the red wolves. Wolves are my favorite animals, and I'm honestly surprised there not in the game yet. I also found the bee and ant houses interesting. I would love to see them in the game as well ❤❤
I love wolves too, the timber and arctic wolves are alright but I wouldn't say no to one more either!
There's a lot on this list I wish were in planet Zoo for me it's definitely the muskox I really want to make a nice open habitat for them, but I mostly want to see some more North American animals because I feel like it's lacking a bit
Even after building a North American zoo it still feels like there could be more animals!

@@DarthVikinnIronside8583 its more a theory that I and others have come up with based on the theme of the last three packs. Nothing is confirmed and of course there are no direct hints by frontier that would suggest it, but its the pack that seems the most logical to us based on what we know haha :D

All i really want is a large lizard that can climb
A croc monitor would be super interesting to see, besides having a super square head and being the second longest lizard with unusual proportions, they are also both aboreal and loves water. I can definitely see them being super fun and interesting to build around

I’ve never heard of some of these animals. I think that giraffe antelope would be so interesting to have in the game! The coati and the Ibis are the two animals ive been wanting for the longest time, I’m glad their on your list!

I think a good animal could be a Asiatic loin cause I don't think they are going to rework the loin so that's why and love this vid
I do think the lion needs a rework, and Asiatic lions are pretty common in zoos in real life!
I think 🔵🐵🕷 would be great! I would want niche animals that can round off regions as well as more snakes and spiders (there are so many animals I can't decide).
Based off of your snakes / spiders comment, I'm thinking some sort of fuzzy blue tarantula? But could also be some sort of spider monkey.

I totally forgot about the aye aye!! Agreed with playgrounds and education items, as well as birds and petting zoo animals.
As lists go, I love loads of the mentions on this list! Greater Kudu and CATS!
I would kind of like to see bees and dragonflies being implemented as the effect pieces used for falling leaves given they wouldn't need any "care" per say!

I love all these species but for me my top 3 animals that I totally want to see in planet zoo are the spectacled bear, Capercaillie and my number one favorite animal that is not in planet zoo is The Critically Endangered Highland tiger aka THE SCOTTISH WILDCAT and its critically endangered due to habitat loss persecution and Hybridization with domestic cats and they are very important as they keep down the population of small rodents and also rabbits and they are very rare as very few people have seen them in the wild and there’s perhaps only a few hundred however a 2023 study has found that there are no pure Scottish wildcats and what I mean by pure is a Scottish wildcat that is free of domestic cat ancestry and one that hasn’t breaded with domestic cats.
I had to look up what a Capercaillie is! It would be nice to have something like that, along with the Scottish wildcat and spectacled bear.
My tops are tuatara, echidna and tree kangaroo need more Oceania representation ❤

I'm honestly not sure, I've just never been a fan. Even when I watched Jane Goodall documentaries with my mom as a kid (my mom LOVES monkeys and apes), I just never felt a particular affinity towards them.

🐇🌎🔻 Mainly because it's been held free-roaming in my local zoo for many decades, and they are a visitors favourite there. Or a Warus, for similar reasons. Otherwise, I wouldn't mind another small or medium-sized cat or 2, or maybe some birds, but tbh, in terms of animal roster, planet zoo is pretty well fleshed out imho.
Overall I have to agree, the PZ roster is quite large and does account for a lot of animals that are common in zoos. As for your hint... Some sort of small rabbit or chinchilla?

@@sparrow838_Anhinga. It's known as the Snakebird, or snakenecked (giraffe = neck) bird, in some parts of the world. Is a swimming bird that looks really funky.

American black bear or mountain /bighorn sheep? Both great choices! I know it doesn't necessarily have to follow the same life cycle, but if it does then at least I won't be disappointed with the end 🤷🏻♀️
