    I worked my head around this for a week when I first purchased my A7. Coming from a Jaguar where you could simply take out the 'adaptive' from Adaptive CC it just seemed like an incredible oversight from VAG Group to keep this system undefeatable. ACC is something that works wonders in some cases and it's just annoying in others. Always ON is just stupid. I guess we just have to live with it.

    My cruise control stopped working for no reason at all at about 30k miles on my 2019 R. Dealer won’t cover under warranty, they say the sensor needs to be realigned. Contacted VWoA, and the sensor realignment is only covered for the first year/12k. Just ridiculous, now I can’t use cruise control at all unless I pay $600 for the dealer to realign it. Makes me never want to buy a VAG car again, very annoying driving a $40k car and not be able to use cruise control at 30k miles through no fault of my own.

    It should at least switch to normal cruise control, when the sensor is blocked, which happens alot in winter

      Agreed. My front camera has gone bad and now I can't use ACC & lane keep. Dealership says that they dont have the part in stock. There should be a factory standard way of getting around this. Food for thought for VW engineers. Though I read some comments below with folks saying they have a workaround from the factory itself on 2022 models or later.

So I just disabled it all and don't use cruise control, the whole idea is to cruise not fath around with altering things all the time, I hate it.

    What's interesting is there are instructions in the manual on how to turn it off. But if you follow them, the "speed control" under Assist Systems isn't present.

    With my Canadian 2021 Golf Highline, their is a button on the left side of the steering that bring you the IQ. Drive menu on the MFD and their is the option of ACC or CC.
    You need to press the cruise button first in order to select the one you want...so counter intuitive.
    Another VW thing,Like LKA, it reset to ON everytime you turn off the car...Their is no way that the car remembers your last setting... or to code it,

    Interesting video, it just confirmed what I thought that ACC is not de-selectable alongside other things like lane control and the interior alarm system (if you leave the dog in the car when you nip into a shop, then you can't lock the car because the dog will trigger the alarm) Very nice car (2022 T Roc) but come on VAG do some customer research

    To Disconnect the system the Brake Assist and Adaptive Curse control you can disconnect the system to have Driver Full Control again by disconnecting the Front Grill Radial Sensor. Tape up the sensor with Insulating Tape so the water does not get in.
    Then Please Test the Vehicle Braking on Quite Roads so you are happy with the Vehicles Braking and that you are in control. This i believe works on Audi, Seats, VW, Skoda's and may work on other manufacturers. As the Manufacture can't risk that any damage or mud thrown up on the front Grill will stop the Vehicle Brakes from Working. insurance company's now have worry's of a 4th Party in involved in a Accident the Computer...As the Driver has the Car take over!

    The lane assist on my 2018 alltrack just quit on me and guess what, the ACC is automatically disabled. So now the stealer tells me that in order to get cruise control working again, I have to get those sensors realign which are NOT under warranty and is a minimum 3 hour job. So I will be driving a 2018 VW without cruise control until I get rid of the car.

    • @FarideLadak

      I have the same issue on my MK7 GTI. The Radar Cruise won’t enable. I’ve verified the fuses, MAF Sensor, the ACC unit which is below the VW emblem and below the front license plate, it’s clean, but recently my Assist warning has now turned on. The front windshield was replaced a few years back. Is the problem with the camera in the windshield or the ACC unit just kicked out of alignment for no reason?
      It’s buzzard that the cruise control could not be enabled six months ago and the front assist warning kicked out a week ago. It seems unrelated but it all ties in together. Will an ODB II tester identify the culprit?
      VW wants to charge at least couple of hours of labour to troubleshoot /diagnose the problem. As a 2017 model it’s no longer covered under warranty.

    Just got a VW Golf R line. I already hate it! This when I have always driven a VW. I now feel I am trying to drive an iPad rather than a car. My first trip home from the garage and auto assist tried to stop me steering to the side of the road as I encountered a large tractor coming towards me on a narrow country road. VW appear to have forgotten that some of us don't travel on motorways. Everything about this car is crazy, from being locked in by the computer every time you set off to the endless warnings, advice messages and having to look at at a damn screen to just set your heating.

    During your research, did you come across any methods for adjusting the brake "hold" duration at a stop? Just curious if that can be extended for prolonged stops in a stop-and-go traffic scenario. The benefit would obviously be not having to hold the brake pedal for that duration.

    • @netcruzer
      @netcruzer  3 года назад

      I don't fully get it, but I've had a lot of feedback/questions about it. I agree if it's bumper to bumper then you wouldn't be able to use normal cruise anyway. With adaptive cruise you can, but then it's 'too safe' keeping too much of a gap and allowing others to swoop in. So.. just drive the car manually people!

    YOU CAN ABSOLUTELY DO IT! Just figured it out on my 2022 Jetta....its a bitch, but not impossible. To start, you must be at a speed over 45mph. Hit the side button on your left. It brings up the "hidden menu" for ACC. You MUST MUST click "cruise control" first, THEN uncheck ACC second. It must be in this order......If done properly, it works. No OBDEleven necessary!

    50 meters behind a car is just ridiculous. I also think you fall asleep faster with adapatjve. Atleast with normal cc you feel the car changing. Now we adapt to annoying drivers that dont keep their speed up when they are on a hill or when these drivers drive left or in the mid. This acc makes me more agressive on the road. If I knew it would annoy me that much, I would not have taken it :(

    • @bossadave
      @bossadave 4 года назад

      Netcruzer RC TECH CARS my bad, eventually after a lot of prodding at the steering wheel buttons it came to life but didn’t for the longest time. The ACC on this model used gps to figure out the speed on the road. Then set the cruise to that speed. However as I was cruising on the motorway at 70mph it picked up a side road of 30 mph then slammed on the brakes to reduce speed. This happened several times and could of caused a pile up. I think we are a decade or two away from self driving at this rate.
