That thin rip jig looks just as nice as the solid aluminum one I bought from an Ohio based company called Chips Fly. Theirs is only $28 vs the $39 Amazon is charging for that Chinese one. They always ship fast and have a lot of nice tools also reasonably priced.
I have the thin rip jig, shelf pin jig, and the 3d miter square. The tools are great. Accurate and well priced. I have been impressed. They also have T squares in 24" and 32" that I may purchase in the future, based on the quality of the tools. Also have a chisel sharpening set. Enjoy your videos, keep up the good work.

I purchased their shelf pin jig and it's been the best one I've used so far. The last one I purchased was from Milescraft and I was really disappointed because the holes were always way too big and none of my pins would stay in place.

I got my thin rip jig setup today. Impressed with the construction and consistency. I like the fact that it can even put in T tracks. I calibrated the zero location and adjusted to 2 pointers to a specific location that is easy to add. I made a label so I remember where zero is.

My home-made jig had a ruler and a scribe mark I set to zero. No math. The end had a screw instead of a bearing so I had to remove the jig before cutting. The bearing works well. Old jig is being given to a friend.
Thanks for the review, I always like finding more inexpensive tools to make my woodworking more affordable, that being said; one of the other features that you get out of some of the bigger brands is durability and guarantee, when I spend top dollar for a lie neilson tool I get a lifetime guarantee, which I have tested (twice) and even though the tools were handled roughly and the damage was from my own misuse they stood behind their product and sent me and new one! Even Lee Valley won't do that! They are cheap enough to buy multiples so they have that. Ill give them a try, thanks for the introduction.
Great point Dennis! There really is no safety net with tools like this I guess. Probably something I should think about when I look at tools as I am really rough on my tools. A couple of my woodpeckers even have a dent or two on them on non critical spots from dropping them on the concrete!
Very informative. I just discovered this channel and very much appreciated its content. I think that type of counsel is very positive in my case as a beginner in this industry cabinets. Secondly, comment would like to bring the corrective use of each tool. I took two courses of cabinets maker and I arrived to this factory and I didn't know how to use a square saw beacuse in the place that I took tha courses that type of saw was off-limits for us students and for my surprise there were not any regular table saw. You know what? I got my house open youtube app, and with a channel like this, i learned the minimum use of that tool to survive I the factory. That's why I appreciate this channel. I do appreciate that you take the time and effort to search out new products, I was particularly intrigued by the thin rip jig. What really makes me worried was that all the 5 star reviews were from people that received a free product. While all the other reviews were about it not fitting in Craftsman and DeWalt saws, which doesn't apply to me. I trust your review, and while the product is at a all time low of $30, I personally think I'm going to wait and see a how these hold up over time, seeing that I really don't need one right now. Now do yourself a favor, turn off your computer and get some sleep please. 😴😁

Love your videos!!! For someone that loves discovering new tool brands Im shocked you havent came across the Neitra brand yet! Theyre awesome! So far I have their small square (similar to DfM tools but better IMO because of the extra measurements) their set up blocks (dead on!) & I just got their woodworking ruler set that has a feature Ive not seen on any of the others. It comes with an extra add on slide for 45 & 30 degrees. I love them & they seem a lot better made then any of the other woodworking ruler sets ive bought . If you get a chance you should definitely check them out! They also have quite a few other jigs & such, if they're anythiing like the things I've bought from them they'll be just as awesome & they're not as expensive as most

Of course! Altho I do blame you for goin over my budget a coupla times lol They are pretty awesome tho, I wish they had more tools honestly. The ruler set alone is killer & so well made I absolutely LOVE the extra slider they include, Ive never seen it on any other ruler set but it's been great for helping me practice dovetails! Usually I have to use a whole nother gadget for that lol. Plus I happen to love color & their bright orange & blue is nice. I have their router set up blocks in my cart now to go along with my regular set up blocks & I cant wait to get them in Love your channel! For that GOINGMAKE Thin Rip jig what you are failing to mention or do is show how you measured from Jig to Blade I tired jigs like that before and miss having a scale indicator/marker ie: similar to the WoodPecker This Rip jig. There are a couple thin rip jigs with a scale-marker made from China out there, highly recommend
Good point drright. I've always had a problem with accurately reading any output from the scales on a thin rip jig. It sounds like woodpeckers may have figured it out. I'd love to check out that tool someday. Thanks for wacthing drright!

Thanks for the tool review. This is the first time I saw a thin rip jig . Just got done ripping 1/8 strips. I hate doing it the way I did it. Fence 1/8 away from Blade. Trying not to have it shoot out . I ordered one . No more of that thanks we'll done report.

On the surface, based solely on your video, these tools look to be very well built. There is one thing I would liked to have seen in this video though. You used a Woodpeckers square to gauge the squareness of one of these tools. I would have liked to seen how accurate the measurements of the GOINGMAKE, when compared to the Woodpeckers.
This is a very valid point Pagan, I always seem to forget to show a few comparison items when I make videos. Some other viewers commented they would have liked to see a couple of other things measured up as well. I have been looking for a speed Sq. One that has holes to mark the wood an the side leg makes it a winner. When you put the lite behind the Sq and I saw all the holes made it a winner. On the 3D Sq, are the markings painted on or engraved

The try square would be great if I worked with a lot of 4 by material but since I don’t…… Kreig makes the same shelf pin tool but doesn’t use slave labor and it’s actually made in the US.
The shelf pin jig in particular looks attractive, that's something I will need soon. Does the drill bit fit snugly or is it loose? Ideally it should be a close fit but still slide smoothly in the bushings. Have you tried it with a brad point drill bit? It should help drill a cleaner hole.
Great questions Jeff, It is a nice snug fit but not so tight it could ruin the bit. Very similar to a Kreg pocket hole jig. I haven't tried it with a brad point bit yet, but excellent suggestion. I'm going to building a lot of cabinets in the next few months, so this little jig is going to get a workout!
I got a set of the bench dog clamps, they are okay. They are okay, I think I like the ones I got from Taytools better, but time will tell I have only done an initial evaluation. I do like the thumbscrew thing that is an improvement over most of their competition, but I wish they had used a different handle for the clamp part , the bar type is a bit easier to use than the wheel, it is just easier to tighten. I wish they had used a rubber protector on the hold down part, the plastic one they use looks like it will only last a certain amount of time before it will break, but that is what that strange dip stuff is good for, I can't remember the name of it off the top of my head. But for $30, they are not bad, a serviceable tool to say the least, certainly not as fun as holdfasts though. Maybe I just like hitting things with a mallet.
Excellent point Douglas. I kind of felt the same way about the handles and probably should have said something about it as well. It's kind of like an outdoor faucet. I've got a tough one to turn off at my house, and always struggle with the turning mechanism on it. Thank you so much for sharing Douglas!

On the miter square. is that extension down the side square and straight? It "wood" be handy to bring the cut line around a corner, if it were accurate. Cuz you can't always get a clean mark, visible on the side you need marked for your miter saw to cut.

When looking at your referral link for 3D miter square I noticed that it look like the right angle is attached with two machine screws. Wonder if this side could be removed so you could use it without. the separately in toolbox for the rare occasion when required.

Great question kcmarines. That 642 is my #1 square, I guess I probably should have mentioned that. It is what I do 99% of my layout with and I have checked it multiple times. But now that you have asked the question, probably a great time to check it once again, but very valid question, but I'm about 99.99% confident it is completely true.

I don’t understand the 3-D miter square. The top ruler markings do not extend on to the top of the wood. How is one suppose to read a measurement or set a distance from the edge. Use the old Mark One EyeBall? I guess I am just not seeing the usefulness of this ‘tool.’

Nice stuff. I'm a newbie and have not had a project with thin strips yet. But I have seen several thin strip YT posts and I have the same question for all.....instead of resetting the fence for every cut why not just take the thin strip you just cut and sandwich it between the workpiece and the fence?. Seems to me it would be a bit more accurate than readjusting the fence for every cut.. cut a strip, move it to the fence, cut another move that to the fence with the first. and so on.
Well, I think the problem would be is that it would not account for the kerf of the blade. Blades are typically 1/8th of an inch and this material is completely removed during the process of each cut. Therefore you would need to keep adding an 1/8th inch strip to each successive cut along with the thin rip you cut as well. I hope this makes sense.
OK so also keep on hand a one kerf spacer and add it to the stack against the fence. But you are right, I forgot about the blade width. @@FlynndoggWoodwork
@@jackspeer2127 Yes that is correct, but you will need to add anohter space every time you make a cut on the wood, so you will need the same number of spacers as you have cuts (I believe).
No, you only need ONE kerf size spacer. After that you just move the thin strip you just cut and add it to the spacer against the fence and keep moving the newly cut thin strips to the fence stack.@@FlynndoggWoodwork

In my 64 years I have learned that people who know what it is and how to use it( and not get their feelings hurt and cry that you're being mean) I think they call that butt hurt nowadays. The biggest problem with the 3D miter square is that it won’t be long snd that little pin will roll away into oblivion. It’s too bad the manufacturer didn’t design onboard storage - that would’ve made so much sense. As for the extra leg, I would actually use that. But storage is a big thumbs down, as you pointed out.
You know that is such a great point. That pin will most definitely find its way to the depths of a dark corner in my shop. Onboard storage would be amazing for that thing. "Black and white" contrasting colours are't necessarily the best "high contrast" for those like me who in our "later year" who don't enjoy the 20|20 vission of our youth, bit it is better than etched lines in a stain finished Woodpecker square

I hear you, these tools really do perform quite well, and I don't put anything on this channel that I don't think I would use personally. Everyone needs to make their own decision, though.
That’s so easy for you to say. But obviously you don’t use tools. If you did, you wouldn’t be so quick to throw labels around. Besides, “influencer” is generally used for those on TicTok who get laid for marketing.
That bearing isn’t going to help with kickback unless it has some high friction rubber coating on it to grip the wood. Even with the bearing being unable to run backward, the wood missile would have no problem just sliding along the smooth surface of the immobile bearing. Still. Build quality otherwise looks good.

Since the clamping force is away from where the hole is, there will be horizontal pressure keeping the clamp in place in the dog hole. May be difficult to understand, but it works! Thanks for watchign and commenting theonceandfutureking!
You said that these tools have at least one feature, that the others don't. Well you mention 'DFM', when you were showing the square. I guess in that case, the only feature is a negative one, the shoulder extension that you said, you would eliminate. Anyway what the Chinese are doing is replicate (copying) what the others did. No money spent on research, just take the same idea and put the automated machines to work. But at the end of the day if you produce in mass you should create products way more cheaper than the original products and brands are selling for. So it's ok to copy! If the original brands are selling 20, 40 or even 60 times the price it takes to produce them (we used to call that greed). Maybe the original companies don't have the ability to mass produce yet, but that's when the game changes, and you can produce products affordable for everyone.

It appears this a tool company who has a commitment to quality. Kreg, Woodpecker and other companies should take heed. I watched another You Tube channel and he spent 500 bucks on Temu tools! Man, what a joke. None of the tools were square and many ads were very deceptive. I will never buy a tool from Temu...ever! Just saying. Nice review. Thanks.

Personal info of American citizens is highly important to the Chinese Government. I have heard from some of my tech geek buddies that if you buy anything from any of these companies, use your PC, and use a VPN. Never use your phone.

I purchased their shelf pin jig and it's been the best one I've used so far. The last one I purchased was from Milescraft and I was really disappointed because the holes were always way too big and none of my pins would stay in place.

Should always use a zero-clearance insert when ripping narrow pieces on a table saw.

I got my thin rip jig setup today. Impressed with the construction and consistency. I like the fact that it can even put in T tracks. I calibrated the zero location and adjusted to 2 pointers to a specific location that is easy to add. I made a label so I remember where zero is.

My home-made jig had a ruler and a scribe mark I set to zero. No math. The end had a screw instead of a bearing so I had to remove the jig before cutting. The bearing works well. Old jig is being given to a friend.

Thanks for the review, I always like finding more inexpensive tools to make my woodworking more affordable, that being said; one of the other features that you get out of some of the bigger brands is durability and guarantee, when I spend top dollar for a lie neilson tool I get a lifetime guarantee, which I have tested (twice) and even though the tools were handled roughly and the damage was from my own misuse they stood behind their product and sent me and new one! Even Lee Valley won't do that! They are cheap enough to buy multiples so they have that. Ill give them a try, thanks for the introduction.
Great point Dennis! There really is no safety net with tools like this I guess. Probably something I should think about when I look at tools as I am really rough on my tools. A couple of my woodpeckers even have a dent or two on them on non critical spots from dropping them on the concrete!

Very informative. I just discovered this channel and very much appreciated its content. I think that type of counsel is very positive in my case as a beginner in this industry cabinets. Secondly, comment would like to bring the corrective use of each tool. I took two courses of cabinets maker and I arrived to this factory and I didn't know how to use a square saw beacuse in the place that I took tha courses that type of saw was off-limits for us students and for my surprise there were not any regular table saw. You know what? I got my house open youtube app, and with a channel like this, i learned the minimum use of that tool to survive I the factory. That's why I appreciate this channel.

I do appreciate that you take the time and effort to search out new products, I was particularly intrigued by the thin rip jig. What really makes me worried was that all the 5 star reviews were from people that received a free product. While all the other reviews were about it not fitting in Craftsman and DeWalt saws, which doesn't apply to me. I trust your review, and while the product is at a all time low of $30, I personally think I'm going to wait and see a how these hold up over time, seeing that I really don't need one right now. Now do yourself a favor, turn off your computer and get some sleep please. 😴😁

For someone that loves discovering new tool brands Im shocked you havent came across the Neitra brand yet! Theyre awesome!
So far I have their small square (similar to DfM tools but better IMO because of the extra measurements) their set up blocks (dead on!) & I just got their woodworking ruler set that has a feature Ive not seen on any of the others. It comes with an extra add on slide for 45 & 30 degrees. I love them & they seem a lot better made then any of the other woodworking ruler sets ive bought .
If you get a chance you should definitely check them out! They also have quite a few other jigs & such, if they're anythiing like the things I've bought from them they'll be just as awesome & they're not as expensive as most

They are pretty awesome tho, I wish they had more tools honestly. The ruler set alone is killer & so well made I absolutely LOVE the extra slider they include, Ive never seen it on any other ruler set but it's been great for helping me practice dovetails! Usually I have to use a whole nother gadget for that lol. Plus I happen to love color & their bright orange & blue is nice. I have their router set up blocks in my cart now to go along with my regular set up blocks & I cant wait to get them in

For that GOINGMAKE Thin Rip jig what you are failing to mention or do is show how you measured from Jig to Blade
I tired jigs like that before and miss having a scale indicator/marker ie: similar to the WoodPecker This Rip jig.
There are a couple thin rip jigs with a scale-marker made from China out there, highly recommend
Good point drright. I've always had a problem with accurately reading any output from the scales on a thin rip jig. It sounds like woodpeckers may have figured it out. I'd love to check out that tool someday. Thanks for wacthing drright!

Very frickin cool! I'd love to get my hands on these and put them to use. I've never heard of this brand either and although I go outta my way to not but Chinese stuff I'd make an exception with these tools.

Thanks for the tool review. This is the first time I saw a thin rip jig . Just got done ripping 1/8 strips. I hate doing it the way I did it. Fence 1/8 away from Blade. Trying not to have it shoot out . I ordered one . No more of that thanks we'll done report.

On the surface, based solely on your video, these tools look to be very well built. There is one thing I would liked to have seen in this video though. You used a Woodpeckers square to gauge the squareness of one of these tools. I would have liked to seen how accurate the measurements of the GOINGMAKE, when compared to the Woodpeckers.
This is a very valid point Pagan, I always seem to forget to show a few comparison items when I make videos. Some other viewers commented they would have liked to see a couple of other things measured up as well. These are great comments as they remind me to include these types of comparisons on future videos. Thanks so much!
I have been looking for a speed Sq. One that has holes to mark the wood an the side leg makes it a winner. When you put the lite behind the Sq and I saw all the holes made it a winner.

The try square would be great if I worked with a lot of 4 by material but since I don’t…… Kreig makes the same shelf pin tool but doesn’t use slave labor and it’s actually made in the US.

The shelf pin jig in particular looks attractive, that's something I will need soon. Does the drill bit fit snugly or is it loose? Ideally it should be a close fit but still slide smoothly in the bushings. Have you tried it with a brad point drill bit? It should help drill a cleaner hole.
Great questions Jeff, It is a nice snug fit but not so tight it could ruin the bit. Very similar to a Kreg pocket hole jig. I haven't tried it with a brad point bit yet, but excellent suggestion. I'm going to building a lot of cabinets in the next few months, so this little jig is going to get a workout!
"side rail" ~ if it's an issue, that's what angle grinders are for: get 2 ~ 1 of each
Great idea William! I need to get myself an angle grinder, that is one tool I have not yet purchased for myself. But I do have a hack saw! :)
I got a set of the bench dog clamps, they are okay. They are okay, I think I like the ones I got from Taytools better, but time will tell I have only done an initial evaluation.
I do like the thumbscrew thing that is an improvement over most of their competition, but I wish they had used a different handle for the clamp part , the bar type is a bit easier to use than the wheel, it is just easier to tighten. I wish they had used a rubber protector on the hold down part, the plastic one they use looks like it will only last a certain amount of time before it will break, but that is what that strange dip stuff is good for, I can't remember the name of it off the top of my head. But for $30, they are not bad, a serviceable tool to say the least, certainly not as fun as holdfasts though. Maybe I just like hitting things with a mallet.
Excellent point Douglas. I kind of felt the same way about the handles and probably should have said something about it as well. It's kind of like an outdoor faucet. I've got a tough one to turn off at my house, and always struggle with the turning mechanism on it. Thank you so much for sharing Douglas!

On the miter square. is that extension down the side square and straight? It "wood" be handy to bring the cut line around a corner, if it were accurate. Cuz you can't always get a clean mark, visible on the side you need marked for your miter saw to cut.

When looking at your referral link for 3D miter square I noticed that it look like the right angle is attached with two machine screws. Wonder if this side could be removed so you could use it without. the separately in toolbox for the rare occasion when required.

Who has a 3/8" miter slot?
Most of what i have seen is a .75" vs a 0.72" for the craftsmen saws that have the tabs on them. Is that the 3/8"?
Well, I think some of the really cheap saws may have them, but I think what they made it for was router tables which I know a lot of them have those smaller (almost t-track) slots. But great question! Thanks for watching James

Great question kcmarines. That 642 is my #1 square, I guess I probably should have mentioned that. It is what I do 99% of my layout with and I have checked it multiple times. But now that you have asked the question, probably a great time to check it once again, but very valid question, but I'm about 99.99% confident it is completely true.

I don’t understand the 3-D miter square. The top ruler markings do not extend on to the top of the wood. How is one suppose to read a measurement or set a distance from the edge. Use the old Mark One EyeBall? I guess I am just not seeing the usefulness of this ‘tool.’

Nice stuff. I'm a newbie and have not had a project with thin strips yet. But I have seen several thin strip YT posts and I have the same question for all.....instead of resetting the fence for every cut why not just take the thin strip you just cut and sandwich it between the workpiece and the fence?. Seems to me it would be a bit more accurate than readjusting the fence for every cut.. cut a strip, move it to the fence, cut another move that to the fence with the first. and so on.
Well, I think the problem would be is that it would not account for the kerf of the blade. Blades are typically 1/8th of an inch and this material is completely removed during the process of each cut. Therefore you would need to keep adding an 1/8th inch strip to each successive cut along with the thin rip you cut as well. I hope this makes sense.
OK so also keep on hand a one kerf spacer and add it to the stack against the fence. But you are right, I forgot about the blade width. @@FlynndoggWoodwork
@@jackspeer2127 Yes that is correct, but you will need to add anohter space every time you make a cut on the wood, so you will need the same number of spacers as you have cuts (I believe).
No, you only need ONE kerf size spacer. After that you just move the thin strip you just cut and add it to the spacer against the fence and keep moving the newly cut thin strips to the fence stack.@@FlynndoggWoodwork

How Accurate Are the measurements
Great question, I saw no error in the tools I got, but with limited experience with this brand I'm not 100% confident. Because this video has done so well the company actually reached out and is sending me a bunch more of thier tools so I'm going to really test those tools out very closely as they are mostly T-squares etc. Thanks so much for watching and commenting LiveTravelandLove!

The biggest problem with the 3D miter square is that it won’t be long snd that little pin will roll away into oblivion. It’s too bad the manufacturer didn’t design onboard storage - that would’ve made so much sense.
As for the extra leg, I would actually use that. But storage is a big thumbs down, as you pointed out.
You know that is such a great point. That pin will most definitely find its way to the depths of a dark corner in my shop. Onboard storage would be amazing for that thing. Even with a little magnet at the bottom so it stays in place when not in use. Excellent idea. Thanks for sharing and watching Trapper Creak 2024!

I have some really bright spotlights that make me squint (one of the reasons I want good lighting in the new shop). That’s so easy for you to say. But obviously you don’t use tools. If you did, you wouldn’t be so quick to throw labels around. Besides, “influencer” is generally used for those on TicTok who get laid for marketing.

That bearing isn’t going to help with kickback unless it has some high friction rubber coating on it to grip the wood. Even with the bearing being unable to run backward, the wood missile would have no problem just sliding along the smooth surface of the immobile bearing.
Still. Build quality otherwise looks good.

I'm confused about those clamps. If they just rest in a hole in the bench, don't they get lifted out when you tighten up the clamping screw?
Since the clamping force is away from where the hole is, there will be horizontal pressure keeping the clamp in place in the dog hole. May be difficult to understand, but it works! Thanks for watchign and commenting theonceandfutureking!

You said that these tools have at least one feature, that the others don't. Well you mention 'DFM', when you were showing the square. I guess in that case, the only feature is a negative one, the shoulder extension that you said, you would eliminate.
Anyway what the Chinese are doing is replicate (copying) what the others did. No money spent on research, just take the same idea and put the automated machines to work.
But at the end of the day if you produce in mass you should create products way more cheaper than the original products and brands are selling for.
So it's ok to copy!
If the original brands are selling 20, 40 or even 60 times the price it takes to produce them (we used to call that greed).
Maybe the original companies don't have the ability to mass produce yet, but that's when the game changes, and you can produce products affordable for everyone.

It appears this a tool company who has a commitment to quality. Kreg, Woodpecker and other companies should take heed. I watched another You Tube channel and he spent 500 bucks on Temu tools! Man, what a joke. None of the tools were square and many ads were very deceptive. I will never buy a tool from Temu...ever! Just saying. Nice review. Thanks.
THanks so much for the comment Gregg. I agree with you. Over the last year there have been a few tool companies that I've been very impressed with at a more reasonable price. Also totally agree with you on Temu. It's a total carnival! :)
@@FlynndoggWoodwork Yeah, from what I understand, the reason Temu stuff is so cheap is to intic you in to giving them your data. Personal info of American citizens is highly important to the Chinese Government. I have heard from some of my tech geek buddies that if you buy anything from any of these companies, use your PC, and use a VPN. Never use your phone.
