Crazy how you can draw a story out to 20-30mins or sum it up in 60 seconds an it still feels complete either way.

What a monster 😖 This beautiful young lady had her whole life ahead of her. 😔 Poor Samantha, she must have been so afraid in her final moments. I hope she fought him. I hope she at least made it terribly difficult for this piece of garbage. Rest In Peace Samantha. 😔

@@irenemarano8241 yes, after (at least) a decade of his traveling murder sprees he was finally pulled over and apprehended while driving through rural Texas. Samantha K. was his last victim and they finally zeroed in on him by eventually catching an image of his rental car on an ATM camera as he withdrew her money using her cards.
He was a coward and ended up taking his own life in prison overnight. After writing one of the creepiest lengthy missives you’ll ever read, he tied a sheet tightly around his neck and deeply cut his wrists.
There is a WONDERFUL podcast that dives VERY deep into him and his life called True Crime Bullshit. Highly recommend.

Keyes also strung Samantha along letting her know if he received what he wanted he would release her unharmed. As the day progressed Samantha knew something wasn’t right so she asked if he would kill her and he affirmed he would. He told the investigators he enjoyed watching the hope drain from her. Mr Ballen tells the entire story on his main channel and it has a twist ending.

I've heard this story before. He stuck a gun into the drive thru window where she was working alone and ordered her to open the door of the coffe shop. She did, and that's how he got her.
Please, please, NEVER do what they say! It's better to be shot to death on the spot than to be taken to a second location and tortured before you die like she was. RIP Samantha 💙🙏
I work fast food. I agree. I am old, and UNCOOPERATIVE to theives. If I am ordered by my employer to turn over the till if I am robbed, I will do so, but my NATURAL reaction is to refuse. I know, it's a wonder I lived to 62. I have, however, defended myself against weapons with words before, successfully. It's a dice roll; I won't win every time. I agree on that, NEVER LET THEM REMOVE YOU TO A SECOND LOCATION. Die now, or later, is your choice. Choose to face it immediately at any cost. You at LEAST have a 50/50 chance at the first location. You have ZERO chance at the second.

I lived in Anchorage when this happened. It
was crazy. The cops were kicking in hotel rooms, flipping beds, checking the crawl spaces in the ceilings. It was crazy. I then went out to Palmer and was staying at the Arctic fox cabins. I was literally a stone throws away from her body and had no idea.
It ripped out little community apart. They say he committed suicide but no one believes that. My guess is that in exchange for all the murdered he committed and where the bodies were he was transferred to a federal correctional facility. He had kill bags all over the place with victims from Alaska to the east coast.

I agree with you 200%. I'm 50 yrs old and working on a degree in addiction counseling because one, I'm a recovered addict, and two I genuinely care about people and feel everything. I LOVE psychology & true crime but this man scared me way more than most monsters! I couldn't get past what he did to this poor young woman's 2 week old body just to weasel money out of her family. That's as monstrous as it GETS, SEWING her eyelids open? Horrifying

Mr Ballen should do a story on "the girl in the leaves" and Mathew Hoffman from Mount Vernon Ohio. The story is pretty crazy.
If you're referring to where the guy warked as tree-cuter, had leaves a few inches deep covering his floors, also had leaves on his walls and they found one of the victims still alive but had to remain in the same area as her dead sibling (I believe) then he's already did a while video on that subject.. That one happened in Ohio so that's why I'm thinking it might be the story you're talking about...
He also was married & had at least one small child. After he killed Samantha, he left for vacation with his wife & small child that same night (if I remember the case correctly). A truly evil man!!
