Thank you guys for the best day I've had skiing, since I had to stop for good----I've never stopped missing the feeling I had on those runs you did today! I was making all the turns with you. (Loved shooting through those trees.) My friend lives in Banff, but I've yet to get out to see her place. I always wanted to see and ski beautiful Lake Louise--and now, I (well-- sort of)--have! Thanks, guys for sharing a phenomenal day! Lynn in NYC
never seen it called that only Whitehorn 1, Whitehorn 2 thats interesting. My group would say what he skied was into the top of Whitehorn 2 and going left across into A gully.
I would imagine that you guys are skiing Sunshine today. I really hope that you guys can sneak Norquay in on the trip. Banff is certainly beautiful, but I usually stay in Canmore.
Canmore rocks! Always home base for me in the summer when I'm sleeping in the truck and hiking. You know the boys are going to gravitate towards the Dive :). New video coming out Thursday.
Wake. Bake. Go to the Lake. ❤ Ahhh, the memories ... if only I could remember them. My home mountain for a few years when I lived in the Park. Hiking Brown Shirt and dropping North Cornice for breakfast. "Lac Loui"? No. "Lake Lousy" is the appropriate derogatory term of endearment for this beautiful mountain mistress. Welcome to the ROCKies!
I was super shocked with how much amazing open terrain there is at LL. It's size reminded me a lot of Whistler. Would take a while to get to know the in's and outs of this mountain
I'm so glad I stumbled upon your channel and blog! You guys are awesome and I'm so glad to see you hitting up LL. Hope you make it to Marmot one day too!!
I don’t know if it’s still accessible but the Elevator Shaft above the top of Larch is pretty neat. Gotta try West Bowl, last time I was at Louisa’s was before it was in bounds
@@riseandalpine if I recall they took it off the maps along with Ford Hill Pitch because they gave up a bunch of their lease to build Richardson’s Ridge in a few years so I don’t think it’s in bounds any more. Can’t imagine they don’t still avalanche control it though
James, I would have been available to tour you around the Lake but you guys seemed to have gotten around just fine on your own. When we get low vis it's definitely into the trees and you now know there are lots of trees. In West Bowl the pruning has just begun and gets better every year plus the Juniper 2 chair next year will make for faster laps. The snow situation this year has been terrible but will no doubt improve next season. Yes Alberta is drawing lots of folks for a number of reasons, the mountains being only one. Peace Out.
Hey Paul! Would have been a blast to get a tour from you. Glad you think we did an okay job at touring ourselves around. We'll be back next season for sure with a hopefully deeper snow pack. Would take many seasons to really get to know every corner of the Lake.
Now I see why Lake Louise is so kick ass. That was a great overview in 25 minutes. I can only imagine what actually being there would be like. I first heard of Lake Louise from a Max Webster song back in 1980. April in Toledo from Universal Juveniles. “April in Toledo I’m talkin’ to myself… talkin’ to myself She’s hiding out in Lake Louise Says she’s takin’ a break from my face.” Lol A great Canadian rock album!

Thanks for sharing your experience. We were there earlier this year and absolutely loved it! The snow holds up really well even if hasn't snowed for weeks. And the facilities were excellent. There's a reason it's rated by some sites as the top resort in Canada.
Wow I loved this. I swear I could feel the great atmosphere in Banff in the town. We dropped people off there and drove through the town years ago before dropping off a couple more at Lake Louise on our way to Jasper back in 2005. It’s on my bucket list to go back one day for sure. Thanks again James👌🇬🇧
Banff is jaw droopingly beautiful. Canmore/Banff are also one of my favourite places to be in the summer for hiking. Breathtaking every direction you look.
You taught me everything about Whistler when I moved there as a Lake Louise local. the only mountain I had skied on was Lake Louise throughout many hundreds of days on the mountain and I know it like the back of my hand, and going to Whistler for the first time I watched your videos to learn another mountain for the first time. Sick to see you enjoying the Lake, if you'd see it on a bluebird sunny day its so unreal and you got to Enjoy my favourite run H gully although its pretty rocky this year!!
Would have loved a little more snow in the Gullies. They were quite peppered but seem like insanely fun terrain! I could only imagine how nice it would be on a full blue sky day. Probably impossible to ski the views would be so good.
