  • Kicking Horse Mountain Resort is a steep skiers dream. It’s got the fourth highest vertical drop in North America and 85 inbounds chutes. This mountain is not for the faint of heart and is the only North American resort that hosts the freeride world tour. We checked off all the classics on our first day skiing Ozone, Whitewall, Terminator 1, Terminator 2 and as many chutes as possible. It was over a week since the last snowfall and the conditions were still amazing! I can’t say enough good things about Kicking Horse. You have to ski top to bottom almost every single run and all of the mid mountain trees, bumps and groomers have the perfect pitch for shredding.

We discovered Kicking Horse several years ago when coming back to Calgary from Revelstoke. The mountain blew my mind with the incredible bowls, massive ski terrains and super deep and steep runs all over the mountain. Far superior to Revy in almost every way.

Kicking Horse for me was the best mountain I've ever been for say 5-10 days of skiing. The terrain (all relatively quick easy to access), snow quality even without fresh snow, lack of lift queues, and level of gnar is all next level.
That being said, over a whole season I'd still prefer Whistler. It has everything KH does and much more, but you need a whole season to make sure you get the quiet days, and you definitely need to know your way around much more so than KH.
I'm at work so can't watch your video just yet but I cannot WAIT to get home to watch it :)

Also looks unreal for vertical videos. Check out my insta @riseandalpine if you want to see.

For me it depends on what you're looking for.
Hardcore steeps and challenging terrain: Kicking Horse
Great family vibe and Snow: Fernie
Aspen: Not sure, I was last there when I was 6 y/o

@Rise & Alpine just go to the classics solden, st anton, ishgl. You don't have to worry about lines anywhere you go because there's over 10000 ski lifts in the country all much better than anywhere in NA. you will be mind blown at the ski infrastructure and altitude difference. The apres ski is out of this world, watch youtube videos on it. Austria gets the most snow in europe too.
There's atleast 10 ski resorts with 2500+ altitute difference and over 3000m elevation.
Austria is the best in europe while most people go to Switzerland.

CPR Ridge traverse looked like shite. One slip and you're going to fall a long way. I swear the traverses always seem worse than the runs.
