Great choice on the Scag! That's the exact same model I had before selling all my stuff and moved to RV life. That Velocity deck will allow you to mow wet grass fairly well. Definitely best mower I ever owned!

i bought a zero turn 4ft deck toro, used, 20 years ago and it still runs great. i paid 3500 for it then. ive used it to mow 30 acres and it worked great.
We hope this one last 20 years, especially after what they cost!

Nice mower! I own a Walker Mfg. Zero degree mower. Too me its one of the best built on the market because of its front mounted deck for help trimming under fences and trees or? and GHS system for removing grass clippings and leafs. Lower stance also helps for driving under low hanging branches. Check them out!
I have seen alot of those but not down here in the south! we are mostly scag or exmark when it comes to commercial mowing!
I did not like the puff of blue smoke from the one when ignition occured. Also, if the swivel bar is somehow able to make a canopy, sold. lol, gr8 unit. good vid. thanks folks.

10k on a mower? I’m starting to think this new house project and all the equipment(no weight issues) is gonna be more expensive than huge trailer fixing project. But ofc living in a house is much better imo. GL
10k for a lawn mower, most likely a loan too… on a lawnmower? Americans are insane… there are plenty of used ones… $1700 is what I paid for a Craftsman commercial not residential…
You will see soon some of these expenses are for a much bigger plan!
My BadBoy Outlaw extreme is 12 years old and still going strong. I love the Kawasaki engine.

I had the BadBoy and i sold it due to the mower deck would skip so i would have to go over it twice, went to a Hustler, but Scag is top of the line
The bad boy was nice, but we have plans for the mower so the SCAG was the one for us!
We bought a SCAG when we moved to GA. We call it the beast. Great mower. Good choice.

I have both of those ride on toys from my grandbabys and they love them!! I've had to buy extra batteries because they get mad when the battery dies
We gave them top speed recently and they were racing laps around the house! Those batteries go quick when you go fast!
But but its not a john Deer. I have now idea what I'm talking about if they even make mowers

We looked at the JD and I wanted it bad, but for what we have planned the SCAG was the better choice for us!
By the way I love your mower but I also love my full commercial Kubota zd 1211 diesel 72" deck. Diesel is so smooth it purrs like a kitten. You know big boy toys.
There is a reason we went with this unit and the 61 inch deck! Stay tuned!
60" decks are certainly easier for getting on and off trailers and doing other yards so I feel I know wjere your going with this.....In my case this is only used on our personal property and I have almost 6 acres to cut. When I mow I am on ot for 3-4 hours at a time. I laughed when you mentioned all the zirc fittings because literally I can spend a couple hours on my machine doing maintenance greasing everything correctly. I do it all myself so it only costs me my time and cost of oil, filters and grease.
@@Kevin-pj7rlYou are one the right track! Plus it came with a 5 year commercial warranty and the servicability of the machine was mandatory!
I was honestly expecting an auction video ending with a 50 or so hp tractor with a front bucket and mower attachment being pulled home on Phil's trailer and superior pickup LOL. I guess if you want that golf course quality cut in under 20 min, you gotta go with the Scag. Baby steps. Kidding aside, I'm excited for you getting all this stuff done. Seems like you're making up for the purgatory that was the last half a year dealing with the RV.
Save at least $1,000 and buy a regular steering wheel mower.
If you drove a zero turn you would never mow with a regular steering wheel mower again!

Great choice on the SCAG, My first Scag I had for 23 years then sold for 50% of what I paid and it ran perfect then I bought another one.
I ran nothing but Scag or Exmark when I owned my landscaping business! Both good but Scag beat out Exmark on this one!

Speeds ok if you’re headed to the gas station. Don’t mean much when you’re cutting.
They mean more than you think! I have been able to cut a yard that took Phil and two 60in Gravelys 1 hour and 15 min in 34 minutes! Time and efficiency matters for what we plan on doing with it!

Being that I live in Wisconsin we use John Deer.
We loved the John Deere commercial Z tracks but they didn't check all the boxes for what we want to do with it!
My nope rope move is he'll of faster. That new riding lawn mower have nothing on me moving out the way. Seeing how happy your children our makes me think the RV problem was a blessing.

Go with the Residential and save $$$. We have a cub cadet and mow 10 acres, we’ve had it 4 years no issues. Runs like a beast.
You will see soon why we didn't get a residential mower!

I put new tires on my crew cab dually and my fifth wheel quiet a few years back and it cost me $1800. I'm just a little bit older than y'all, well, maybe a lot older but I can remember when you could buy a brand new car for less than that. Enough about what things cost. The grass is a growin so keep on mowin on that big fancy new mower you got.
This mower cost 4 times what the truck I drove in high school did!
Scag is a good mower. Especially for the size yard you have. Commercial is the way to go.

I'm definitely going to have to see if they sell that mower in my area! We have 2 in a half acres and our zero turn is slow and 7 years old now so it is time to upgrade!
It's is a machine and they have some lower level trims if your not into the big horsepower and speed! But don't test drive one, once you do you will need it!

You're probably gonna want a small tractor on that property. They come in handy w/ just a few simple implements like a front loader and backhoe. Great choice w/ the Scagg, even though I am a JD guy.

I think it's funny that ur channel went from rv to house things cause I'm in a similar situation now. I've been full time rv leaving for 5 years due to the military. Now we looking at buying a house and getting a work in progress one.
Our channel has always been about the family and what we are doing! we wished we could travel a few more years, but our new path is pretty awesome now!

We gave them high speed finally and they are doing laps around the house!
Bought the same SxS for my 2 YO grandson years ago. He ran that thing into the ground and when he was around 5 - 6, my daughter gave it to a co-worker and their daughter is still running it. Just needed new batteries a few times.
I remember in the 1970s going for a walk with my Dad. He told me, " Do you know people are paying for cars what your Mother and I paid for our first house!"
This mower cost about 4 times as much as my first truck in high school!
