I vary my eating. Since Christmas i do one week fasting 16:8, one week calorie deficit, one week normal calories 3 meals a day. I've lost 10kg, 5 inches off my hips, 2 inches off my chest, 3 inches off my waist. I do strength training and walking 5 days a week, sleep 6-8 hours. Also 1g protein to my ideal bodyweight. I'm 52 and I feel amazing. I'm not tired. I work odd shifts so nothing is normal for me but I've managed it. Thankyou
@lindsayhilton4563 Thanks for this info! Wow! Maybe I should try this!! I lost 25 lbs doing IF and low carbs. I do strength training and walking 3 miles at least 3 x a week. I hit a plateau for about 9 months. Now I'm starting to gain it back! It's so discouraging
Please I tell all younger women, pay attention to your calcium intake!! Eat food rich in calcium if you can! Big leafy green salads and sesame seeds are high in calcium. Protect your back!! This will be very important going into menopause!! I am 70 and have some bone loss, and strength training is crucial as well!!! ❤
I want to lose 10 pounds by April. I started weight training and I can tell a difference already. I’m getting stronger and my body is starting to lose inches. I will do some walking and Hitt exercises as well. Thanks for your help!
I have been following this regiment consistently for a month and I have lost fat and inches. I am going to keep going. I want rid my body of at least 40 pounds of fat.
Thank you incredibly for all the helpful information. You're so exceptional. It all makes so much sense. I am post menopause and have put on 3stone 😢. I will now follow your advice, alongside Ramadan beginning today, and hope for some results 🙏🏻
Thank you Melissa. Your information is clear and correct. There’s so much misinformation out there for women in menopause. You make it simple. Grateful for your continued content 🙏
Agree. I'm 138lb, 5"5, athletic build. I have been weight training since 2019, walk 10k+ steps a day, get 7+ hr of sleep, take supplements, gluten free and dairy free diet, drink water, eat 120g P. Nothing. Is. Changing.
Same here! I've been doing HIIT and counting macros for several years (eating whole foods) staying around 127lbs - starting going through menopause so I added, more protein, weight training and walking this last 6 months and I've gained 8lbs! I feel stronger, but the fat isn't going away so far. I really noticed a weight gain after I started walking which I thought was so strange.
More really helpful advice from Melissa. Always practical, balanced and sensible everyday guidance that makes it easy for people to navigate, when there’s so much confusing ‘gumpth’ out there. This is why I follow Melissa. She makes sense! Thanks Melissa. 🙏🏼
I know that with all I do each day and week, I am amazed at how I feel with food. I notice that I am not so hungry most of the time and also don't have too many cravings for sweets lately. When I started the 8 week challenge I let go of all my snacks like popcorn and lots of chocolate date balls that I used to make often. I also changed to a new probiotic and really feel great. I know that I must have lost 1-2 inches already. I do follow the plan as often as possible, but I always healthy anyway. There is no sugar in my home at all. Just stevia and raw honey. I make a lot of green smoothies and drink a lot of water. I really feel great!
If I were in any more of a calorie deficit, I would disappear!! It certainly didn't work for me!! The only thing that worked for me was 16:8 fasting. Now that's stopped working 🤦🏾♀️.
I’ve got you - toss in a few longer fasts (24-72 hours) then switch up the intermittent fasting a little - eg 18:6 / 2MAD. Doesn’t mean you can’t go back to 16:8 but just mix it up. A lot of people do a 36hr fast weekly, but I just do one every few weeks or when I’ve been quite badly behaved 🙈
I always love the details you give in your videos. I've tried adding protein powder to boost my protein intake and I'm walking around with the feeling of having lead in my stomach. I've tried all the different types...plant-based, whey, isolate you name it and I'm still ending up with that same feeling. Have you done a video on this and did I miss it. Any recommendation you could give would be so helpful.
I'm glad you appreciate the details in my videos! I understand the discomfort you're experiencing with protein powders. It's not uncommon, and finding the right one that works for you can be tricky. While I haven't covered this topic in detail yet, I appreciate your suggestion, and I'll definitely consider making a video addressing this issue.
I normally loose weight when I experience periods of stress and I gain weight when I'm happy, sleeping and eating well. How can this happen with my body?
For optimal results of weight training what is the best protocol for eating before . I just have a banana and coffee ( my best time is first thing in am for exercise) and save the protein for after … what do you suggest?
Intermittent fasting can be effective for some, but it’s not a one-size-fits-all solution. If it made you feel more tired and less energetic, it might not be the right approach for you.
I hurt my foot which makes it difficult to fit in much of the needed activity right now. I can only do floor Pilates / core and seated weights. I miss walking :(
@MelissaNeill wondering if you have any videos on yoyo dieting? I feel I can no longer loose weight due to yoyoing and extreme drop in calories over the years. No matter how low I take my calories my body will not give up weight! I feel I need to re-educate and re-feed my body back to some kind of normality, however, terrified to increase my calories to any normal amount in fear of weight gain! Thankyou
Hi! You can check this video ruclips.net/video/Kb-X2qxMwso/видео.html on how to count your macros/calories depending on your weight. In that video, I discussed how to compute for your macros to achieve your goal weight.
@@baum7des7lebens7 I know about that, but I LOVE cruciferous veggies. I eat Brussels sprouts for lunch and broccoli for dinner. I also eat dairy. And I have Hashimoto's, so I probably shouldn't eat any of this, but it makes me feel good.
EVERYTHING you just said is EXACTLY what you SHOULD do for PROPER intermittent fasting.😃👍 Eat healthy twice a day/exercise/weight train/rest/cut back on stress. Eating twice or less helps against spiking insulin (not spiking cortisol so much, too). This truly helps with insulin resistence and helps with weight loss. If done correctly, intermittent is excellent for weight loss and energy.❤❤

I had a hysterectomy in December and I’ve gained about 5 lbs in 2 months!
Hang in there! I hope everything gets better. ❤️❤️
If you are not very big to begin with, is it harder to lose fat? I'm only seeing small changes 10 weeks in.

So happy for your progress Linda! You're doing an amazing job with your health and fitness journey.
How do you make a decent green smoothie? Mine are always thick and horrible I have no idea 🤷♀️
If I were in any more of a calorie deficit, I would disappear!! It certainly didn't work for me!! The only thing that worked for me was 16:8 fasting. Now that's stopped working 🤦🏾♀️.
Add high dose vitamin D, Berberine (shown to be more effective than ozempic) and green tea instead of coffee.
You have to do reverse diet. Have you got your labs done ?

@@isagrace4260*This didn't work for me. It slowed my metabolism down even more!
I take vit d everyday and berberine. Nothing changed.

You are quite a phenom Melissa …. I only wish I could eat better foods like plants, but have terrible IBS. What do you suggest? Thanks.
A lot of people find relief with a parasite cleanse when it comes to IBS. 🙂
Let´s try this. Thank you for your motivation. 💚
You got this!
Thank you @@MelissaNeill
Of course you can because my doctor told me I did👍🏾
Thank you Melissa🎉

Who is demonizing broccoli?
There are people with auto-immune diseases who are advised to avoid cruciferous veg.
