Oh wow ! I’m so so so very thrilled to have found your channel. Whyever did I not think to look up a video for women over 40 before ?! I was just in such a pickle because things weren’t working very well at all for me for the last couple of years but it hadn’t hit home why. Thank you so very much just for thinking of us . You’ve got me all teary now. I’m very grateful.
I woke up this morning tired of feeling tired. I'm 53 years old I've gained 40 lbs in the last 3 years . I searched RUclips for inspiration and tips on a body transformation and I found you! Thank you for the tips, instructions and inspiration! Years ago I was a competitively power lifter and have always enjoyed weight lifting. These last few years have been very stressful. I worked in healthcare until just 8 weeks ago when I realized if I was going to regain my health my stress level needed to come down dramatically.
You’re a dedicated lady and it shows in the results you achieve and maintain. Enjoy your down to earth practical advice. Great information without unnecessary frills. Thanks Melissa.
Just found your videos and love you! I went on a similar journey at age 48 after my sweet daughter died. I’m 50 now and in the best shape of my life! Wish I lived closer, would love to have coffee with you💕 Thanks for all your great content!
You are legit! No fillers or Liposuction. You are what you eat. You can’t expect to eat all the fat food and expect to 120lbs. That only works for celebrities or people who can afford to throw away their money. With expensive transformations.
LOVE that you posted recipes in the description. LOVE protein pancake recipe - have made it twice!! Just wish description wasn’t missing amounts, recipe ingredients and step by step descriptions although when you’re making in the video, wonderful and detailed Just hard to rewatch videos with busy family life, would be nice to have the amounts and how many meals they make so I can read the recipe and meal prep with containers as necessary Breakfast: The pancake recipe description is missing ‘oatmeal and also missing baking powder and milk Marinated Chicken and baked potato and Black bean salsa recipe description missing black beans and amount, missing 300 grams raw weight potatoes Marinated chicken missing ginger paste Dinner: Chickpea curry Missing chickpeas and amount Protein and oat bars 120 g oats 4 scoops protein Tbs Cocoa nibs Few raisins Coconut milk Spray loaf pan light oil Bake 15-20’minutes

Hey Melissa, just found you and subscribed to you today. What a relief to hear that I am not losing my mind. I have been into fitness for most of my life doing one thing or another but, these last few years it has been very frustrating. I am 53 now and just couldn't fathom why I could not build the muscle anymore to the point I was losing the will. But I am not a quitter and have always kept going no matter what. It was interesting to hear you talk about running. I have been running for years and in the last 3 years have seen little to no impact on weight or increased fitness levels, the only good thing was it kept my mind well (I do enjoy a good run) but realised after hearing you talk about the no benefits to weight and muscle I realise now that running every day is not the way to do it. Also the food thing, exactly the same as you were, Intermittent fasting and out of balance protein, carbs and fats. I am plant-based and have been for 11 years so have a good knowledge of good proteins and carbs and have already upped my protein. Although eating prior to and after training is something I have never done so this will be the real challenge for me. I have just rejoined the gym and went back to old ways of working out because I did not know any other way. So, now watching and taking on board what worked for you regarding strength training, I am now ready to change and swap over to this kind of training. Thank you, you are an inspiration for women like me over 50 and show that it can be done. I will monitor and log my journey so will let you know how I get on in a few weeks. Take care.
I hear you, Lisa. It's so frustrating putting in the work but not seeing any results. I like so much of what Melissa's saying. Like you though, I also prefer plant-based, but personally, struggle with the protein as I've been told that my allergy tests come up saying dairy and eggs are a problem for me. Add to that not being a fan of meat or soy ... LOL. It's rather a trick to juggle. Personally, I do like some of the IF components. For instance, not constantly eating/snacking is almost a relief. Eating before and after working out, like you say, will be an adjustment. However, eating right before bed, hmm, ya, no, that's not going to be for me. Some people manage to be avid runners (and still lean and trim) for their entire lives. There must be a way to do it, but I like what Melissa is showing us and feel it's worth exploring. :)
I've been struggling since I turned 40 with my weight and so glad I found you. While I've been already doing a lot you suggest I'm going to be incorporating more of your advice. I've been binge watching your videos. I love you!
For the first 43 years of my life I NEVER had any issues with eating. Now that I'm 47 I struggle to keep my slim figure that I have always had. I'm truly at a lost when it comes to what I should and shouldn't be eating. I so needed to see this video. I think I'm just going to eat only things I see in this video.
After almost 20 years of being inactive from Rheumatoid Arthritis my muscle has all but disappeared and I'm so flabby, fat and weak. I'm hoping learning from you will help me get my life back.
I have RA and feel your pain. I started with doing pilates for beginners and lots of stretching. Swimming is great for my joints. Start gently and work up.

Over the yrs I took myself off a lot of the meds. I was taking over 17 pills a day. Craziness! Now I'm only taking 4. I gained over 20lbs. I use to do Cardio kickboxing & very active. I CAN do it again. It's just having the mindset. Thank you for being you! I WILL get my energy & body back. Much love! ❤💐

Hi Melissa, I am watching your videos for quite some time and I am so happy having found you as it is a pleasure to listen to your gentle, profound and wonderfully authentic advice 😃. Hoping, that you might read my comment, I would like to ask you, if you could recommend how to best create a vegetarian diet plan full of high protein, but without using any soya products, as I am allergic to soy and apart from this it is said, that soya is heavily gen manipulated 😶Before I became vegetarian, I loved fish, but since fish is heavily polluted 😶, I am focussing on things like lentils/chickpeas/parmegano. But so far, my meals are quite boring.... 😏 Apart from this, my biggest challenge is to skip sugar! I am not suffering with my weight (I am 1,68m and weigh 56kg), but over the last 5 years I observe that my skin had lost lots of its tone 😪Actually, being 54 I am witnessing that I am getting hesitant to ware e.g. short trousers. I am wondering, if I "crossed the line" and have destroyed my skin forever by eating so much sugar since my early childhood (on average circa 200g chocolate per day) 😭😭😭. Or do you have maybe gained experience in this field too along your path which could give hope to me (and others) revitalising the skin and make my body look healthy and fresh again 🙏
Hi Melissa! First of all, you are georgeous! Secondly: your personality is even more charming. :) I really love how informative your chanel is, and also the calm and nice vibe of your videos. Definitely giving this a go! 😍 actually searching for your protein pancakes & bars. Simple & delish meals ....thankyou!
Apart from this, my biggest challenge is to skip sugar!
Above this it is really inspiring to see not only the Jlo and Halle type of superstars can be in great shape around 40-50.
Thank you so much!!
