You so far in my opinion are the best at explaining the hx stomp . So far I’ve watched three of your videos and all have been very helpful ,Thank you just subbed keep making great content as your information is very helpful.
Great video. The HX Stomp does so much. As a bass player I wasn't sure how much I'd use snapshot mode but love that this can be used to and multiple effects at the same time and even change the parameters. Super handy! Love that I can use it to goof around with guitar some too. Amazed by how much it'll do. I just saw yesterday that you can use it as an interface and not only that but you can record a clean and effected track. If you don't like how it turns out on the recording, you can run the clean signal through the HX again with different settings and it'll record it again. Mind = Blown...
@@ScottUhlMusic Yea, I’m working toward getting down to a bass or two along with a small pedal board direct to front of house. Feels like crazy talk after years of carting everything around lol.

Snapshot Mode is actually better than the Spider Jam Combo, or JM4 pedal which are PRE Helix , the POD HD PRO 2 space rack, also did not do this !
Great video as always. I'm having some issues using snapshot mode. I saw a video where someone went into the command center and routed each snapshot to footswitch 1. It was an hx stomp xl. I've been trying to do that on my hx stomp for an hour and its not working. Am I doing something wrong or is my hx stomp faulty? Also how did you get that bass tone? Hi Scott, great videos! I’m new to HX Stomp and wondering, if I’m in a preset & #1 snapshot, can I bring a different preset into the snapshot #2. I have a good rhythm preset but want to use a different lead preset for a song. Thanks for your help.

What is the benefit of using snapshot mode vs. preset mode? Everything you showed in this video can also be done in preset mode. I just don't understand when I would use snapshot mode over preset mode.
Presets are for changing basically everything, which you can do. There is a slight “jump” in the sound when switching amps and stuff like that which some people don’t like. I definitely prefer snapshot mode personally, but if you are happy with preset mode, use which one you like the best 👍

Nice tutorial. I'm just getting started. Is there a way to map 3 separate FX presets to each of the footswitch buttons, each with their own blocks? I saw you can have 3 different tones of a single FX using snapshot on a single block. Would I just have to do that and clone the settings of an existing FX - three times and save snapshots of them? Ex, FS1 - Soldano, FS2 - Solitude, FS3 - Meteor.
If you want to change multiple FX within a preset (reverb up, gain down, delay-off, dist on, etc) with one button press you need to use snapshots. If you want to just change one parameter of one block, you can do that by assigning either a bypass assign or a controller assign to the specific button. @@ScottUhlMusic that’s true, but then you’d be limited to 2 true selections because one foot switch is being used to cancel everything. It’s just weird that you can’t have 3 different snapshots and be able to turn them all off like a bypass to the amp essentially.

is it possible to still use a single pedal next to stomp mode?
Yup, definitely. I just use the two button pedal, but I used to use a single one
How do you save to each snap shot? Ahhh, 5 minutes in and there it is, meanwhile 2 other vids skipped the whole save thing. Thought mine was broke LOL
Haha well thanks for watching to find the answer. A lot of people leave comments asking questions that are answered in the video hahahaha
how come one of the effects has to be on? Shouldn't there be a way you can do this mode but unselect all 3 effects so you are going directly through the amp without any effects?
You can do it that way too
@@ScottUhlMusic not in snapshot mode I don’t think
You can turn off all the fx with a snapshot if you want
@@ScottUhlMusic that’s true, but then you’d be limited to 2 true selections because one foot switch is being used to cancel everything. It’s just weird that you can’t have 3 different snapshots and be able to turn them all off like a bypass to the amp essentially.
This is a “bypass all” mode. That actually makes sense now because I was wondering what the point of that would be haha: ruclips.net/video/pg2VdBX7tBo/видео.html
Why would you use snapshots instead of discrete patches?
Less having to move between sounds/patches. If I have my patches midi mapped and Ableton changes my patches for me, I’ll program each song in its own patch. But when I’m playing live, it’s MUCH easier to just have my main patch and use snapshot mode 👍
Ummm, how do you get in and out of snapshot mode?
I mention that in the video at 1:40
Scott when I edit one snapshot all 3 presets change when in discard & recall mode!!
All 3 snapshots change? Are you sure?
@@ScottUhlMusic Yes Positive
Weird, try a firmware update?
can you use presets in snapshots?
Presets and snapshots are different. You can always switch to different presets and different snapshots within the presets though
Hi, can you do it with HX Edit? thanks
Yup you can 👍
How do you get through your different presets?
What do you mean? I don’t know if I understand your question
@@ScottUhlMusic How do you scroll up and down your different presets? If your using the dual switch for boost and Tap Tempo/Tuner.
Ah, gotcha. You push the 1st and 2nd button together to scroll down or the 2nd and 3rd button to scroll up for presets👍
How do you get into snapshot mode??
Push the arrow button while in live mode to get to snapshot mode instead of stomp/preset mode on the hx stomp
do you make your patches available?
As of right now I don’t, but I’ve considered it. Maybe someday I’ll offer it on my website.
These patches are cool....loving the set ups...love the Paisley Pack Steve..🥳🎸 lots going on in one preset ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I’m actually working on my patches to put on my website right now. So hopefully they will be available soon. Which one was the “Paisley Pack” one you liked?
Im keen on some patches too.
So 4 snapshots? I thought hx stomp had only 3 snapshots?
You only get 3 snapshots on the stomp
Hi. Can you tell about your bass sound preset? Its so creamy)
Thanks! I find the best way to get “fake bass” tones using the helix/HX stomp is to do: compression - pitch shift down 12 semitones - amp. I tried doing it other ways and that’s the one I found works the best. Nothing beats a real bass but it’s still convincing enough that it works great!
I thought so too. Fantastic! I'm looking forward to your presets, Scott!
WHY DOES EVERY VIDEO ABOUT THIS ALREADY HAVE IT SET UP!??
What?
I don’t understand your question. But perhaps check out this video too if you need something else with snapshots: Snapshot Mode for Helix / Helix LT - The BEST Way To Use the Helix

I don’t understand your question, but here’s a beginners guide for the hx stomp if you need help starting from the beginning: PROGRAMMING & GETTING STARTED w/ HX Stomp/HX Stomp XL - In Depth Guide

Nope. Stomp mode plus command center is superior
Nice! I did videos on both, but I usually only need snapshot mode. But combining both is a great idea 🤘
@@ScottUhlMusic the main benefit is putting all three snapshots on one footswitch
What’s ironic is this is pretty much as bad as pedals - ya still in some way or form have to divk around with this - this is finger dancing
You press less pedals in snapshot mode. Snapshot mode is a way of pressing multiple pedals and/or twisting many knobs at once
to complicated ! fuck that shit!
😂It's really not tough, and it's definitely extremely useful and how I use the Stomp.
just got to experiment with it - thats all. I didnt get it at all at first
more bla bla bla then playing ! fuck that ! never ,never never never BUY shit
Yeah, it’s so annoying that I actually explain to people how to use snapshots with all those pesky words 😂
