I'm not sure what size the circle hooks are because I forgot to check and already had them, but they are heavy duty. If you know your kayak weight, you can purchase the circle hooks rated to hold your kayaks weight.
**TIP: I do suggest drilling a hole in the stud before installing the circle hooks. The hole must be smaller than the circle hook threaded section. A drill bit about half the thickness of the circle hook threaded anchor section should work well. This prevents the 2x4 stud from splitting due to expansion pressure when installing the circle hooks.
