Candy Apple Red is my all time favorite color. And molding out all those seams. What a great job. I shaved all the lines on my car but was to scared to do a Candy color if it got rock chipped I’d so cry. Just how in the world do you fix it if it gets chipped. I’ve seen people go through the worst with that color. That’s what holds me back and even protecting the entire car with a clear wrap is a ton of work! You’ve got to have money and guts to roll with a color like that. One day one day I’ll have the guts. Can’t wait to see the entire car rollin! 300zx looking fresh great job SOS team 100,000 subscribers here we come!

I got 2 cars right now getting fully painted door jambs and everything but I gotta keep doing side jobs such as small collision repairs or paint matches to keep the pockets stable… this is too much stress for a 19 year old🤧 Love the videos I learn a lot even after doing body work since I was 13!

thank you for this video! im working on a 94 z32 as we speak, i just finished shaving the bay, but now im working on chopping and swapping rear quarter panel for one that has never been hit lol. PITA!! rear driver side, gas door and all that. getting there though! cant wait until im down to outer body filler and sanding on whole body.... tire of spot drilling and grinding and cutting and welding.. just want to go back to building motors again haha. mad respect for what you guys do!!!

yeah candy is the bomb when it comes to effects when done and so much can be done with candy too. with my candy paint I do a prime and seal followed by a PPG urethan sealer block sanding on each step then i am laying down a jet black urethan paint then doing a mid coat Rolette red metal flake and another sanding for the candy then lay down my brandy wine candy over all that followed by the last step the show car clear coat.
There is so many things that can be done with paint it is truly an art form
@@SOSCustomz yes it truly is a art form dad when he was alive taught me how to lace and do flames and things like that including air brushing found out i don't have the knack for air brushing but when it comes to candy I just loved it along with pearls.

Finally!! Mine is almost done as well. We had the same issue with another rear bumper brand as well. My body guy took it down to bare metal and we found sooo many horrible welds and things that needed to be fixed. I'm having him do a candy orange on mine. Cannot wait!!! Mines been down for 2 years this September! I think my guy feels your pain!

Someone flag this as pornographic. Because God damn this car looks phenomenal. I'm hoping to have SOS customs do my z32 with the same body kit although not in candy. Don't get me wrong candy paint has some amazing colors but it is a very delicate paint and scratches and nicks are candies worst nightmare. Or at least the owners wallet of the candy anyway. I am no painter but that's what I hear a lot from other painters when they make mention about candy. Depending on how bad the scratch is and how deep. You might have to reshoot that whole side of the car or something like that? Not to mention exposure to sunlight will dull the candy. But from what I understand it would take some very concentrated sunlight for long periods of time to do that. So I guess that isn't too bad. Like leaving your car outside exposed to sunlight year-round kind of thing. Although if you got a candy car I would hope that you have a garage of some sort. However I am looking into getting Bayside blue from the R34 on my Z. I've only seen it on one other Z that car is in japan. I am positively giddy with excitement from watching this video.

Love the color and amazing work bu5 as a fellow Z32 owner....its just not my style. With all that work i would hqve removed the fender marker lights and not feeling that rear bumper. But quality of work is amazing.

Bro fr!! We had a truck in the shop for a year cause of so many problems and then the paint messed up on use so we had to let it sit and dry. Worst job I was ever on !!

The candy is HOK, the base is shopline , the clear is HOK

Nice. Ill never buy that kit. Fitment was piss poor
that rose color underneath the candy really kind of ruined the candy tbh. its no where near as deep as it should be using a gold base
We made samples before hand of silver and hood with the red candy on top , the rose color is just silver with candy mixed in
@@SOSCustomz yes but its still a base coat for the actual candy and it 100% changes the end color. just like if you add a tiny amount black tint to silver it will turn candy extremely dark compared to a silver only 1 or 2 shades different. this is why most people laying candy use either light bases or gold. anything darker, while it still looks good as paint, makes it lose alot of the candy depth. gold tends to give the best true candy apple color while silver/white gives a richer red. candy is very picky
Primed 3 times?! Mate, hire a new panel beater 😆 achieved a beautiful finish to be fair though 👏 👌 and in seriousness, I know how unforgiving colours like this are!
This was perhaps the worst body kit ever molding it to the car was a challenge and achieving symmetry eliminating all pin holes and making it smooth enough to apply candy it needed all that and more
IMO just a Z32 destroyed by yet another body kit and this time a wide body with ridiculous paint.
