Excited for the rest of the tutorials! My Sonett is rare enough that I've only been able to find 2 models of it, neither are good. So it looks like I’m doing it all myself. I’m really interested in how we make more accurate models, but I’ll save those questions for the relevant video. 👍
Quick tip for connecting the inner section with the spokes part at 9:20. Instead of trying to line things up perfectly and using merge by distance or manually merging each vertex, just select both edges and Bridge them using Looptools.
Thanks. Next time someone will post a scary story of how AI will soon replace 3D artists - I will send them a link to your video, so they can challenge Midjourney to make a decent tire.
Hey man, nice tutorial! But what if we want to make an off-road tire that has treads on the sides as well? I would appreciate a tutorial on how to make an off-road tire.
Amazing work. Thanks. Just curious why you modeled this in blender instead of cad. It's just a revolve with two cutouts in a polar array. Import as an STL.
CAD is great for fast modeling but because it’s nurbs curve based the topology when converted to mesh type objects is unmanageably bad. This is the same reason film studios and commercial operations that are using the models they make primarily for digital content creation use mesh modeling rather than more cad like programs. As for why topology matters it’s important for achieving realism in shading and also for rigging
I use a circle (loop tool) on the wheel and when rotating it is clear that the wheel is crooked, but without using the circle when rotating everything is perfect, who knows what the problem could be??
Genuinely entertaining and informative video with some great production value, well done!
4:03 id recommend making one side of spoke and mirror then array it using object offset and use an empty rotated at 60°

Wait a Saab Sonett??? if you haven't joined the discord please do, I have questions
@@bytedozer Yessir, Joined the other day. I have yet to Introduce myself.
This was very helpful and inspiring, which is what I need right now.Well explained, learned a lot, thank you!

I realized this when I was editing 😭, I was cutting that section and was like, wait, wtf was I doing

this video is really helpful for lazy people like me. thank you!
You're welcome! I also put a link to download the asset for free in the description if you want to skip the work entirely!

@@bytedozer thank you for the informative response. i was under the impression that topology was better from brep models, not worse.

It’s possible your objects origin is off center, or that your scale has not been applied before using the loop tools circle thing
You won’t get 1000$ for any tire. Your channel is all about clickbaits and shows tips every regular knows.
good thing this video is for beginners right!
Im loving this channel I love the rpf1 meme 😂😂 so true with s2000 and mx5 owners. I went a tad different on my 5 Watanabe rs8s
Love those wheels, I see them on Zs a lot and they look so damn good, total classic
shading...
Nice work, but miata wheels are not 5 holes...
Ya, just wanted to do the 5s because odd numbered bolt patterns are much harder to get the topology right on so I wanted to include it
What a rubbish! It is well knowe that AI generates it for free at high quality!
lol, lmao even
@@bytedozer don't you listen youtubers? There is many of them who claims this shit!
