***** I know you are gay. Growing up in Britain in the 70's/80's when queer bashing and victimisation was much harsher and more frequent than now. He put up with a lot of ''homophobia'' in his early years, which was not his fault and why I pointed it out. How do I know? Because when I used to run a famous cabaret club in London he used to come along and would ask me why people wouldn't talk to him. Prior to Culture Club he used to share a squat with a girlfriend of mine.
He's come back better than ever.... he lost himself for a few years....but the personality and talent is still there...good on him ...he looks fabulous .....

Boy George is another that we sort of think of as invincible, after Prince`s death yesterday I`m trying to break myself of that mentality, but he`s amazing and I don`t know what I would do if he hadn`t gotten clean and ended up dead.

I used to be the biggest Culture Club & Boy George fan..but now the man totally disgusts me. We all make mistakes in life..but the one he made that got him sent to prison..which was for chaining a male escort to his wall with an accomplice..and then beating the man black and blue with a metal chain..until the man was able to escape into the London streets naked and bleeding screaming for help..that right there totally changed my opinion of him. I can forgive him for the drug use..but to chain another human being to a wall and then beat them to a pulp with a metal chain is absolutely unforgivable. And the judge who sentenced him to prison said that he felt sick to his stomach when he saw pictures of the man George assaulted..because his injuries were so awful. To make matters worst..George has NEVER publicly apologized for doing this. As a matter of fact..he never brings it up..and people like Wendy are told beforehand not to bring it up either. Had he not done this horrible crime I would have jumped at the chance to see him and CC..and they are even coming to my city..but now..I no longer see a faded pop star. I see a drug addict, drunk, ex-convict, and unrepentant violent criminal. No thanks..I'll just keep my memories of when he was a decent human and leave it at that. (◕︵◕)

So..when the Judge in the case saw the pictures of the man George beat up with a metal chain while having him chained to his bedroom wall..was he just imagining the victims cuts, gashes, and bleeding lacerations? Keep in mind the Judge who sentenced him to prison said that he felt sick to his stomach when he saw pictures of the man George assaulted..because his injuries were so awful. Injuries that were treated in a hospital and pictures that were taken by the police. And by the way..George didn't even do his full time..he was let out early. I always look at a persons past to judge how well I can trust them in the future..why should he be any different? Stop forgiving and making excuses for him because you like how pretty he looks in videos or he's a fave singer of yours. He has never apologized publicly for what he was SENTENCED for..when other famous people have apologized for much less. THAT says a lot about his character..so rethink who you defend my dear. Because he sure as hell isn't worth it.

Yes his voice is different than the eighties, he has aged. Realistically no one can expect to have the same vocal range he had in the twenties when with Culture Club. Even thought he had his issues with alcohol and drugs. Well look at any of the infamous rock stars, i.e Robert Plant, Mick Jagger, Steve Tyler an so on. Yet no one is holding them accountable for life's changes, with or without assistance. As for the content of his lyrics to the song, he is trying to initiate a social or mental thought about religion.Pointing out how people view their beliefs as the final or only answer. He has on many interviews stated he was interested in all religions, and tried to understand and accept their meanings. If his conversion to Buddhism helps him back on the right track to mental health and physical fitness, who are we to criticize. He has always tried to bring awareness to many social and political issues or matters of the time through his music. Also on more than one of his interviews he said "one as an artist, so not take themselves too seriously." He state it is good to be able to laugh at yourself, teaches a little humbleness. Remember artist are a different lot, they see and feel what we can't or don't and inspire us to see that through there music/ or art-paintings. It is very hard to make a come-back no matter if it was a long period of time or short. Just be glad he's back and accept the change. Remember he has created multiple amount of music with various ranges of styles. Also who has not done things in their past that they regret, and would like to forget/or be forgiven for. So is that not the subtle message that he is trying to convey? After all its all about forgiveness and change, and moving forward, should we not do the same? Sorry for the long comment, yet felt it had to be said, not trying to be preachy, just sharing some thoughts. Thanks For You Understanding
