@@NM027At this moment, to be the GOAT, Carlos not only has to have more Slams, Masters, weeks... than Novak. He also has to achieve all this playing against rivals comparable to Roger, Rafa, Andy... Without strong opponents, the titles Carlos wins simply won't be worth the same. It will be very difficult for anyone to ever top the Big 3 and Novak.

LOL!!! There can be and there is only one. What word do you not get in GOAT ?!'! Best of the best through ALL TIMES are behind him. Alcaraz is good player. Nadal, Federer and many others are better players than him. A few years is NOTHING to even try put him there. Be on top..., many of them maneged that, through the years...., but stay there, indure and do it so many years...., like play as 37 old guy and still beat best guys of new generation.... WHO DID IT EVER? Do you really believe that somebody ever will be able to play like this as 37 ??? Alcaraz ??? GOAT is GOAT, period.

As an Iranian translator and political journalist, I have followed Novak Djokovic's games since 2010, when I was 55. While Federer and Nadal were in their highest levels, I predicted that Djokovic would serpass them, though I could never imagine he would be the GOAT one day. I have always watched his games with full stress 😩 as if he were my own son, being always worried he might lose this or that match. This caused me to suffer from heart disease little by little. But, no problem, because my crazy enthusiasm for him derived from the face that the Western biased media were against him, maybe because he sometimes talked about the war waged against Serbia by the NATO.
I watched this video 12 days after it was displayed on RUclips, while there were already more than 1700 comments. I hope Novak and his family, and people of Serbia can see my own comment on day. Many congratulations to him and his nation and fans.

3 slams on clay is unfair since djokovic is good at hard court. So let's pretend 2 slams were on clay.
Every year, Djokovic had to fight prime wawrinka and an still active federer on hard court/grass. Nadal didnt have to fight every year a prime soderling and another old soderling on clay. So, Djokovic would still probably be the best if 2 slams were clay where a prime soderling existed and another prime soderling existed.

As a very realistic human and sportslover. I honestly believe Novak may be the greatest sportsman of all time. I think there may be 2-3 others who would be up there with him. But what he has done in this sport, for such long time is historical to say the least.
EDIT: Everyone is replying with names of other greats. Honestly I think only Messi is at this level of greatness, because he is the only one as far as I can see that basically has won everything in his sport, even multiple times, and someone who has been the best or top 3 for 20y more or less, just like Djokovic. I agree other sportsmen have been great in their prime, but to do it for 20years like these two have is something else imo.

At age 37, only 2 months after knee surgery, the GOAT convincingly wins the Olympics without dropping a single set, defeating the super talented 16 years younger Alcaraz who just won FO and Wimbledon and plays one of the best 3 set matches of his career. All this to complete a remarkable career Golden Slam, winning all Grand Slams at least three times, all masters 1000 three times, 7 ATP finals, 8 year end no. 1, 428 weeks as no. 1 and now a Gold Medal at the Olympics. Huge achievement that arguably places Novak Djokovic among the greatest athletes of all time!

Yes, fantastic outcome! I can't think of anything, that could have made this any better, maybe only bringing back three set format for gold medal match, this would have most likely make Novak's win even more meaningful as if it wasn't as it is! And nobody dares to say he had it easy now, despite him not dropping a set en route, mainly because of the level shown in the final from both! It doesn't get any better than this, really!

This one is incredibly special. 37 year old, his last chance to win for the country when he couldnt make it 4 other times when he was younger and better, vs the reigning RG and Wimby champion who is 16 years younger who just beat him on a faster more comfortable surface, wins in straight sets & beats his greatest rival en route to the final on his favorite surface. Just perfection. Thank you, Djokovic.

Yes both men and women...even Graf misses Rome title and she is closest one to completing tennis! Lol Serena misses like 2 or 3 different "1000/900" level slots and i am not really sure about Navratilova or Evert...all i know is that they both completed careers slams multiple times and both have won year-end championships also multiple times, and for vast majority of their respective peaks tennis wasn't part of olympic games program as it was only added in official as late as 1988, where both were exiting their primes...so we will never know now whether they could or could not have won olympic games if tennis was part of it's program at least since 1972 or something, this is where young Chris started to rise to prominence! I also don't have enough data to find out how many of 1000/900 level equivalent titles they managed to win back at the time, but i doubt either one won 'em all considering their much lesser importance back in the day as more players would skip and not even play those...
