I so appreciated your tutorial. It was very thorough! I want to add that true worsted yarn is not only the fibers being in line but also the scales to so only combed fiber can be used for true worsted yarn. (Or spinning off the lock) This gives a smooth yarn where carding gives a woolen yarn because the fibers don't stay oriented in the same direction.

I like to thank you here from Denmark, for days I have looked for videos showing every part from fleece to combing. I didnt found what I was looking for, before i saw your videos. So thx from the heart :)

Thanks for this series. I've been hunting through RUclips and yours is the best so far. I've never even handled a fleece before, but am now going from "sheep to knit". Thanks to you, I know how to prepare it for spinning. You were the only one who talked specifically about picking it by hand before carding it (mine is right from a farm down the road, so it had lots of stuff in it). And other people don't appear to be on septic because so many of them wash it in their sink or bathtub. I appreciated the warning. Thanks!

Really enjoyed the series on fleece to yarn. I look forward to more in the series. I imagine these would be very popular in the knitting podcast community here on YT.

Thank you for the video!! It was So informative without having too much detail. I loved how you explained what and Why you were doing different thing, like rolling the fleece from the side the way you did. This video was extremely helpful--thank you for sharing And equipping me to get started!!

Thank you! That was so helpful for what I am doing right now. I just washed a pound of Finnsheep Fleece that I purchased this weekend. Its drying right now and I still have some of the tips of the locks "bound up". I was wondering how to open them up without English combs ( I will be making a set). Pulling out the dog combs...and then I will use my carding brushes (I have a set very much like what you have) to make the Worsted Rolags. That is exactly the information I was looking for.

Thank you that was very clear and answered all of my questions, even the rolag worsted vs woolen thing.

I'll have to try your carding technique and how you roll it off for a more nondirectional worsted role. Interesting. I prefer to just comb for a directional worsted. Combing cleans the wool better too. Carding does not clean out the fibers as well.

I just love this series. Question, what is dander in the wool? I've never heard of it before.

I'm so glad that you like it. Dander is just like the dandruff that people can get. The dry skin flakes off into the wool. Since this sheep was not sheared as often as it should have been it's skin was dry. Washing and combing gets it out but it just takes longer to process.

I don't know how I missed using a dog comb as a hackle. I have used dog brushes to teach people to card. I bought a bunch of brushes at the dollar store and gave each student a pair and a little bit of fleece to take home. That way they didn't have the excuse of not having tools as a reason to forget what they had just learned. Some of them continued spinning afterwards which made the purchase worth it.

Hello. Thank you for these videos. I was wondering during what point would you dye your fibers? I’m thinking it would make sense after washing and picking, but I have no clue! Also will you still make a tutorial for how to make a drop spindle? Thanks again!

Great videos! What is the difference between woolen and worsted spinning? I mean, what would be the difference in the yarn produced? Thanks so much!

Hi Janet! Worsted yarn end up straighter, slightly shinier and gives your knitting/crochet more stitch definition. Woolen yarn is a bit more bulky and it isn't able to provide the cleaner stitch definition but looks awesome for chunky, comfy looking sweaters or scarves etc.

Love the material given by the Creator for us to use in our garments. (MGhNYB MAUD) Awesome. Tudah Rubah (thank you very much). The Name of the Creator is Hayah asher Hayah, as what He told Mose (Exodus 3:14), preserved in the Hebrew Scriptures. There is a curse to the G-o-d name (Isaiah 65:11-12), preserved in the Hebrew Scriptures. All followers of the Messiah are to do the 7 appointed times (Leviticus 23), but no more animal sacrifices, following the Crucifixion of the Messiah. We are now of the order of MLK TSDQ (King, Righteous), to Whom ABRaHM tithed. Ask the Messiah to be your personal Savior. He is the Atoning Offering for the remission of sin for mankind (1 John 2:1-2). He said to him, I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me (John 14:6).
