You know it's a fantastic video when you've been playing the shit out of Deadlock and still watch the entire 2 hours and come away learning quite a bunch! It's an in-depth tutorial and a character guide rolled into one! Incredible amount of effort. One minor criticism I have is how you explained the abilities in the training range. You were max level and explaining how the abilities worked at max rank, and that could be misleading when players load into a game and wonder why they can't use abilities or items in Vicious's goo ball or why Wraith's ult isn't targeting multiple enemies like you showed (you were even surprised Wraith's ult wasn't single target!). Not a biggie though; it's easy enough to understand by reading the tooltips. I'll be keeping my eye out if you decide to put out more character-specific build/strategy guides or guides on objectives and farming.
Was scrolling past all the 10-20 minute “beginner guide deadlock” videos and thinking ‘yeah, no chance they’re covering everything’. Finally saw this beaut and I know I’m in the right place. 👍🏻
I been in the beta about a month now, was checking what sort of content is around for the game, very detailed guide, newcomers will enjoy this, leaving comment for the algo.
Good video. Something I found out yesterday was that the charged melee doesn’t delay your reload time until the melee attack has completed its animation. So, as long as you time the animation properly with your reload, you will have a full magazine after the attack comes out. I would say to start the charge somewhere between 1/4-1/3 reload time remaining. And it’s important to note that abilities don’t interrupt it either (from those I have used). Only thing I have found that delays your reload is using stamina meter, quick melee, and what I just mentioned (end animation of charged melee). Good to know for clearing camps and just increasing DPS over all.
Great video. I'm new to MOBAs and seeing stuff like this where people talk about strategy and why they do what they're doing. It's hard to get as a new player. Especially knowing when to farm vs when to help in fights or go for objs
I did a video like this years ago for BF3. I know the work that goes into it. Thank you. Super helpful that I can find all the main details and even some niche things in one helpful place. Wish the algorithm didn’t punish videos like these.
Bruh I honestly thought this was some bs vid till i saw Reinforce was the channel, idk I thought this was some league of legends bs guide dude but it’s Reinforce, the OWL casting legend, looking forward to watching this video as a refresher for the game.
Thank you for being so thorough, the in-game tutorial and website do not mention half of this stuff. Its not intuitive even from both a moba and shooter experienced player.
Another indication of dash-jump timing on a lot of characters is that you need to jump right as they get on their feet again (obviously they couldn't animate you jumping in the middle of a roll).
I love how every overwatch tank player plays Abrams and I just get bent by him all game long. Fun stuff. Deadlock has overwatch, cs, valorant, league, and dots refugees and it’s fun to see the play styles
That's my bad for honestly not clarifying this detail, LOL. The orbs always gives you souls if they float up successfully and the enemy don't deny them. Typically you'd prefer to always shoot the soul orbs to "secure" it, rather than letting your enemy deny them. If there are no enemies around you can of course let them float up and grant you souls. The 10-min mark refers specifically to getting souls for last-hitting the body of the creep. Before 10 mins you get souls for last-hitting the creep AND shooting the soul orb, after 10 mins you only get souls for finishing off the soul orb, none for the body kill.
I was noticing you said that the soul jar would give 3500 souls but then you ended up getting a lot less, was that because teammates where nearby or any other reason?
I still prefer OW but I appreciate this video bc Im naturally intrigued. Its a lot but I can see why people like MOBAs. Will this game be free to play?
Im confused by the unsecured souls. You say they are becoming secured, but the secured soul number isn't going up. So is it more like they are decaying and if you dont spend them, they go away?
gotta disagree on the geist breakdown. self damage being spirit.. you really don't want to think of them as a spellcaster. they are a hybrid that should scale gun and vitality early. grabbing spirit items late when leech is solved. her gun is insanely strong especially with some kinetic dash and a slowing active. you will regret building her as 'poke' oriented in lane. get some bridge control, dash jump into a siphon and a power melee (with spirit strike and melee lifesteal). you are just a better abrams overall since you crush lane, and can keep up late game with your spirit scaling / 6300 leech / strong gun with overflow your enemy lane eats 3 bombs and you can just dive it's beyond free. i wasted so much time building burst and AOE, when all i needed was flat hp/regen/enduring/melee lifesteal + spirit strike. its obscene lol
I cover it in the hero overview, but you level up the more souls you collect! When you level up you get "ability points" that you can spend on upgrading your abilities.
good info but reduce your cam's size a bunch, it's kind of distracting and doesn't add anything to the tutorial, in fact it hid some UI at points (no offense, just my opinion)
@@ayylmao182 No you can they officially announced the game and removed those restrictions. It's pretty much open beta rn because testers can invite as many people as they want.
this video made a lot more sense than some other guides out there
Respect for the effort into this video. Literally overshadowing all other guides of this nature!

Best guide out there right now. Been looking for any info on this game, and you have a whole 2 hour guide. Thank you!

Any chance you can invite people :)?
@Muddy2366 😂
Really well made guide, answered alot of questions i had regarding the map and certain things like unsecured souls
Deadlock is now public? Pog
the rage bar for shiv is taken from the soldier banners in tf2 - living proof that valve remembers that game exists

Thank you Reinforce, very cool
Very informative!
You watched the whole thing in 4 minutes? Very impressive! Lol.
One of my fav OW commentators brings a guide for Deadlock. Thanks! Cant wait for my invitation to lock in

Battleborn was a ton of fun back in the day but Overwatch just overshadowed it so hard. Hope this style of game actually takes off. Looks cool
I'm also a Battleborn vet. Deadlock seems to have fixed most of the issues that game had, imo
very well made, tysm for this
A game that is quite complex, but you managed to make it easier to understand really good guide
Thank you for being so thorough, the in-game tutorial and website do not mention half of this stuff. Its not intuitive even from both a moba and shooter experienced player.
Funny i agree but i think its better so you dont get overwhelmed when just launching the game
To be fair, it’s a private beta, I’m surprised it even has a tutorial at all already
Detailed and thorough guide. I don't usually sub but you earned it
Nice to see you on this game, been playing a ton lately

exactly what I was looking for, thank you!

Valve really said “make them shoot at you and they take the L anyway” and all the L Ovwrwatch gamers resonated with that
Man, i cant wait to play this
You can also quick fall in this by game but it consumes one stamina bar
This game is fucking amazing haha. Played a few matches and love the depth and unique spin on the genre. Thanks for the video!
I like how a guide is out before the game lol
Shiv is the best character btw. Objectively speaking, non-opinionated.
Best guide out there thank you
this guide is awesome THANK YOU
Very clear and informative video!
you did great job!
Great vid man love it!
Is the info about no souls after the 10min mark outdated? I was collecting souls from creeps that I had killed today, just letting the orbs float up.
You auto collect souls that fly into the air if they are not denied. Past 10 mins, minion kills don't give souls but the soul orb still will
That's my bad for honestly not clarifying this detail, LOL. The orbs always gives you souls if they float up successfully and the enemy don't deny them.

Remember when games came out and people just played them?
The pole is a Lightening Rod
Just found out that you can shoot the minions riding the rails, causing them to drop from the rail.
great video!

How did you enable Colorblind Mode @reinforce?
I still prefer OW but I appreciate this video bc Im naturally intrigued. Its a lot but I can see why people like MOBAs. Will this game be free to play?
idk if im tripping or not but... correct me if im i didnt see you use shiv's alt fire,, its good!
Thanks legend
A bit too complex for my taste, but might try it out a bit.
Maybe I should wait until they turn it 5v5 😅
Im confused by the unsecured souls. You say they are becoming secured, but the secured soul number isn't going up. So is it more like they are decaying and if you dont spend them, they go away?
Unsecured souls are part of your soul total. They are just "at risk" if you die and slowly become safe over time.
I love it i cant wait to lose my life to ranked on this game 😂
thank you elon
really ty
ofc ow players are once again the best players 🐐

So is it available for download or nah
so theres no classic roles in this game it looks interesting
Glad icefrog mostly sticks to dota for the moba aspect of the game
how do i see component items for big items
no crosshair settings?
This game isn’t even out yet and it’s consumed my whole life. After a few days of having access I already have over 12 hours on it
Does your character have levels? How do we see the current level?
I cover it in the hero overview, but you level up the more souls you collect! When you level up you get "ability points" that you can spend on upgrading your abilities.

Here before the ban
Ban?

It's at around 2:15 if it's what I think you mean

Damn the rein goat! I remember you from early overwatch days. Deadlock is the next big thing for sure I’ll be posted for more content like this🫡
Facecam mad annoying

Don’t need to see your face for this dude 😊
