Maybe he’s just hopping out to shoot you off the turret before he starts driving again? However, he failed to account for the fact that you now have a plasma turret, and he only has a plasma rifle.
I do this in firefight when I can. I got keys to a wraith , don't tell oni though.
@@twistedlogic9739 That is indeed what happens if you don't manage to kill him first. He doesn't have much of a choice either, because the only other option is to prevent the Spartan from having any of your allies to shoot at which means you aren't focusing on using the tank either

Lone wolf is my favorite mission it’s almost like firefight for single player campaign

This wraith trick actually works on any given wraith in Halo:Reach. You should try to hijack the two wraiths on Sword Base. It's possible and I've done it before with a friend. It's really fun to do, and you don't even need to use the target locator
Theoretically, couldn't you do this alone by sniping the Gunner, hop in the gunner, thus removing the driver, then return to the safe zone, have the timer reset then run back in for the wraith
You may not be fast enough to get a way on foot and the driver of the wraith could just start driving it again once you move so you have to get rid of him
So I just now today heard that my favorite game ever is being released on PC. I've watched a bunch of videos today and my recommendations are everything my 13 year old self literally dreamed of.
How to drive a wraith in Lone Wolf, how become a grunt and fight jackels on a skyscraper, how to fly space ships in forge world, how add Phantoms to your maps, ect..

They also got a phantom and enforcer. I’m going to try to crash a phantom so I can use the grunt to fly it....the current way of piloting a phantom is hard to do and weird to fly.

I kind of accidentally found another way to get the wraith (haven't tried it in lone wolf though, only last checkpoint of The Package) is to take out gunner, hop on top of wraith, then if you shoot the hatch a couple times it'll pop off, exposing the driver, then you kill him and you're clear. For whatever reason, I don't know if it's just that level or what, when I'd get in the turret the driver wouldn't get out, so I just started shooting at him and Viola. I'll have to try it with lone wolf and see if it works. I'd imagine everything would have to be done in increments to avoid the timer running out

Hmmmm I thought was a giltch that a wraith gets in the map, a couple of years ago. I was playing lone wolf, trying to last alone. I don't know what I did but the wraith drove in the map, I didn't mess with it. However then it ran me over soon as I saw, no skulls or any special effect. It just wanted me dead, I like to restart when I die the mission a lot when I get in the mood to play.

I’m pretty sure it happens in all campaign missions. It’s not in The Package, however. I’ve always known this. Hope the info helped.

Pretty dumb how you are meant to die in this mission when realistically THE SPARTAN CHARACTER COULD HAVE SURVIVED BY NOT RUNNING INTO THE MIDDLE OF THE ENEMY

I mean, 6 knew they were gonna glass the planet, and had already destroyed any means of getting off Reach. A Spartan's purpose is to fight, so they chose to go out fighting
