I like how the film is basically humanity in a nutshell, we fight and kill each other until we find someone scarier then ourselfves and fight and kill them.

This is what I love about reach. No matter how many times I see an animation, or go to custom games, every Spartan looks unique.
Not even Infinite accomplishes that with all its options. I can’t tell you how many skittle colored samurai piñata spartans I’ve seen already.
Is nobody gonna talk about how we never get a good look at any of the Spartans faces, yet the attention to detail in the helmet visor at 0:25 where we can see one of the spartans faces. Guy didnt even need to do that! 10/10

Ah, yes, the Reach AR being bad and the shotgun mysteriously not doing enough damage at only a few feet. This is actually accurate.
LMFAO! I don't agree to much with the AR part, But man! I rip my hair out when those shotgun kills get denied!
Back in the day it wasn't Soo painful as my ISP and the P2P connection were shitty, now I got used to a level of quality that you don't need to Shotty+Melee. . .so it makes the Reach shotty all the more a disappointment.
I *do* agree that the AR is bad. You can’t kill anything with it on Legendary Campaign. It does slightly better in Multiplayer, but it’s pretty much completely unreliable. You’re better off grabbing literally any other gun, like a plasma pistol.

I think the AR is fine if you aim for the head and use short bursts.

It’s been years since i’ve played Reach with my old mates, if only i could live through those moments one more time and catch up with the rest of them and their present lives. God I miss them😔

I love how each character has weight and its own feel to the world. It makes each character feel more alive. More "There" The detail and shading allows for proper atmosphere. And the way the fighting goes, makes it more realistic.
This bought a tear to my eye. The good ole nostalgia dopamine.

I want you to realize that there is a future for you, if not already, in animation. I believe that companies could hire you to make a series based on video games, which to me sounds amazing.
Long have I awaited this project! And it was so well worth the wait! Loacher, I am a huge Halo Fan, and I always look forward to your work! The texturing, lighting, storyline, backdrops, scenes, animation, movements (especially with your new mocap suit). The music, cinematography. One of my favorite shots was the explosion, sniper sniping the rocket Spartan. Incredible. Not to mention, your ability to animate the armor break. The Elites were a surprise, and I have no idea how you replicated their movements! This is GRADE A work!

one of those armors really looked like one that i used to use back in the halo reach days
I recommend turning the speed up to 1.25, some animations like walking are off and music slightly faster but the general movement is faster and at the pace you would expect from a Spartan.
By far, my favorite part about watching at 1.25x speed is at 2:00.

This is literally everything that happened just before the games lore wise. Hoomans fighting each other, brutally I might add, then the covenant shows up uninvited and the hoomans are like, bruh, how'd you get in? This is a private lobby. So the hoomans gang up on da covenant and actually do some cool shit.

Were the SPARTANS fighting each other?? I was always under the impression the Spartans were created to quell normal human rebellions and whatnot, not fight other Spartans? When did this happen?

It's great to see that we're at a level where artist can do such things with pure elbow grease! The only thing that broke immersion was the card-boardy motion of "stillness"
Sometimes the strafe was longer than the legstroke, sometimes it was shorter.
When models stop being animated they stay still in the last position. By adding some wobble to a body you can make it look more alive
Even when sitting still we're not totally still, we breathe, we shake, our muscles and contract and relax as we keep our balance thanks to our internal ear.
Bullets fly but they don't impact! So it feels a little that the stakes aren't that high if the spartans are in "walking fire mode" in the open and no bullets are touching them.
The shotgun throw to the chest sure stunned that SPARTAN - III Supersoldier huh?
The sneak attack, followed by a stand off, it's not the proper way to make the best out of chaos!
As an elite, you just destroyed the element of surprise and gave the chance to your enemies to identify you as the bigger treat, while they outnumber you.
Sangheili pride doesn't means they're not military geniouses and know how to take advantage of a situation.

The quality is amazing. The models are perfect. For most of the time, the animation looks good, BUT you have to work on the smoothness of animation/movement. Some scenes just look janky. Overall 9/10!
I would say that the reflections in the visors could use some work too
the only part i thought was a bit janky was when a spartan first attacked that elite with the tiny energy swords
@@randomdude4703 nah, the animation movement is very high level for a production of this scale, but it still looks janky a lot of the time. The directing as well could use some serious work, which I think is the greatest fault of loacher's animations. I mean, I can't exactly expect the animation to be on the same level as Astartes', but the directing is definitely something that can be improved upon. Timing, camera angles, tracking, it is all off a lot of the time, which makes the awkwardness of the animation more jarring. Astartes is something that all these 3d animators should aspire to reaching, so naturally, comparing the two (specifically part 4 and 5 to this) is the best way to offer constructive criticism. So watch astartes part 5, then watch this. This is high-level quality for a 3d animation youtuber, but there is always room for improvement
@@aidanmattys7488 No way. Nearly everything beyond slow and steady hand movements looks stilted and stutters. Look at the scene where they walk towards the lone spartan at 00:50 odd and also the sprint to take off 1:10. The thing I've always noticed with Loacher's animations is that the render is good/high quality, but the movements are entirely robotic. Visually? highly detailed. In motion? They need a lot of work.

I really liked this, some constructive criticism though, the walking feels a bit clunky, I think the characters should sway their torsos and shoulders a bit more, make it a bit more realistic.
true considering the momentum and weight of gravity on the armor even if they won't feel the weight from augmentation the movement would still be visually noticeable
